Ooo, tough one! I really don't think I could pick a favorite. I like each one for different reasons. When I listen to the CD I listen to all the songs. I'll think about it and see what I come up with.

Oooh hard. I don't know if I can pick one. I love all of them so much! I always listen to all of them with i play my CD. *thinks* I think I'll have to go with Rest In Peace. My love of Spike adds extra points so I gotta go witht hat one.

now that's hard question. There all great songs, but i actually went to listen to it. and come up w/ a three way tie(go figure being me). The tie is Walk Through The Fire, Rest In Peace, and Under Your Spell.

on the movie i love the humor of it, but i missed the seriousness that was portrayed in the tv version. But there are just little hints of the first season in it. For an example at the end she is wearing a white dress and leather jacket. Just in the same matter in Prophecy Girl, but w/ a better lookin' dress and jacket. Pike is like Oz and Spike put together. I didnt hate it, but i wonder if Joss was able to direct it and take creative control over movie what would have been like. Then again i dont because we wouldnt have seven years of great episodes.

I am sorry, but the movie sucked ass. I saw it in the theater way back when it came out, and since I was a lot younger then, the movie did not seem all that bad to me. However, I watched it again a few months back for the first time in years, and I must say that it is not a movie that has aged well. I am a huge fan of both Rutger Hauer and Donald Sutherland, and Kristi Swanson is so hot in the movie. But the effects and acting were just so bad, that it was not even funny. Plus, Luke Perry is not convincing in a hero role at all. Not to mention the fact that you have Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reubens in the role of one of the main vampires.

The movie was amusing at first but after seeing what was orgionally intended via the TV show I can't watch it anymore. Talk about raping a script.

Yeah I know. If they had never made a television show out of it, then the film would have probably seemed better than it actually was, because there was no basis of comparison. However, after seeing the potential that was realized from the show, the movie looks more like an insult than anything else.

Aww come on! How can you NOT love the movie?! It's hysterical! "Excuse much! Rude or anything?!" Buffy accusing The Watcher of being a mental patient of something. The Slayer Mole. The parents who don't notice that Buffy's coming home all covered in dirt after midnight. Hell just at the end the vampire taking FOREVER to die! "Oooh! Ow! Ugh! Aw! Ohh! Ooooh! Argh!" LOL! It was a great movie!

Sure it's no where near as great as the show but if you just look at it as a funny movie and not expect it to be as dramatic/funny/scary/sad/angsty as the TV show it's great!

*think* I'm pretty sure I own a copy. I'll have to go dig it up later just to watch it again!

it's interesting though when you make the comparison between the movie and Becoming Pt.1 where you see Buffy called. Joss actually changed his own movie(kinda glad he did) to:
-Buffy's a freshman not a senior
-Buffy missing the vamp's heart
-clothes are almost the same in Becoming Pt.1
-the parents have changed, and you notice the signs of divorce
-Buffy is saddened more in the tv show because of life had basically been taken away compared to the movie

some things are definitely different. They did a great job on putting inserts from the movie to the tv show. For an example, in Normal Again we find out Buffy was in an asylum which is an insert from where the movie left off and the show began. But i still love Gellar's version of Buffy more.

another thing is interesting Whedon's Firefly was cancelled, but got a movie deal to direct and write a movie of Firefly. It's basically an opposite of how buffy came around. Meaning lame movie to one of the greatest tv shows made.

btw, Spiked i love your avi :)

Favorite character - Willow

Favorite romance - Spike / Buffy

Favorite Villan - Spike or Willow ( the others really didn't appeal to me)

Favorite Episode - There are lots, but I'm still loving Season 6's "Once More With Feeling" & "Tabula Rasa."

Favorite Season - 5th or 6th. The whole 5th season seemed so intense. The 6th season was great because we got to see a whole new side of Willow.

I've only seen through the 6th season. Sadly Season 7 was airing during my days that I partied too much in college (Freshman Year).

Favorite character: Tie between Willow and Faith. Although Cordy was so funny and I loved Tara...and...ok shutting up now lol.

Favorite romance: Willow/Tara

Favorite Villan: Dark Willow (and yeah I love the way she killed Warren lol :D )

Favorite Episode: Definitely Tabula Rasa. But my fave scene is in The Killer In Me, Willow and Kennedy at the Bronze...so cute :)

Favorite season: Really hard to choose. All I know is I didn't like 1-2 really much (compared to the others), and I really hate Riley so whenever he was there, arrrg lol.

Buffy vs Angel: Buffy by far.

Thank you Summers! fittizle did an awesome job!

Great idea (already some great quotes).

Giles: Because you are the Slayer. Into each generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a Chosen One, one born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires...
Buffy:...with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires, to stop the spread of their evil blah, blah, blah... I've heard it, okay?
Giles: I really don't understand this attitude. You, you've accepted your duty, you, you've slain vampires before...
Buffy: Yeah, and I've both been there and done that, and I'm moving on.

~*~*~*

Buffy: Dawn listen to me. Listen. I love you. I'll always love you. But this is the work I have to do. Tell Giles I... I figured it out. And I'm okay. Give my love to my friends. You have to take care of them now -- you have to take care of each other. You have to be strong. Dawn. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live. For me.

~*~*~*

Faith: Looks like the hellmouth is officially closed for business.
Giles: There is another one in Cleveland. Not to spoil the moment.
Xander: We saved the world.
Willow: We changed the world. I can feel them, Buffy. All over. Slayers are awakening everywhere.
Dawn: We'll have to find them.
Willow: We will.
Giles: Yes, because the mall was actually in Sunnydale, so there's no hope of going there tomorrow.
Dawn: We destroyed the mall? I fought on the wrong side.
Xander: All those shops gone. The Gap, Starbucks, Toys "R" Us. Who will remember all those landmarks unless we tell the world about them?
Giles: We have a lot of work ahead of us.
Faith: Can I push him in?
Willow: You've got my vote.
Faith: I just want to sleep, yo, for like a week.
Dawn: I guess we all could, if we wanted to.
Willow: Yeah. The First is scrunched, so... what do you think we should do, Buffy?
Faith: Yeah, you're not the one and only chosen anymore. Just gotta live like a person. How's that feel?
Dawn: Yeah, Buffy. What are we gonna do now?

Those would have to be my favorite ones. :)

The Judge: This one... cannot be burnt. He is clean.
Spike: Clean? You mean, he's...
Judge: There's no humanity in him.
Angelus: I couldn't have said it better myself.

Angelus: Now that's everything, huh? No weapons... No friends...No hope. Take all that away... and what's left?
Buffy: Me.

Xander: Something weird is going on.' Isn't that our school motto?

Xander: Yeah, for a minute there, I thought you were gonna make an expression."
Oz: Well, I felt one coming on, I won't lie.

Oz: Look, Buffy, you should know that, that —
Buffy: Oz, now might be a good time for your trademark
stoicism.

Glory: (About Spike) - If he wakes up, tell your boyfriend to watch his mouth.
Buffy in the middle of a fight with the crazy hell god and the most important thing she can say is:
" He is not my boyfriend. "

Buffy: Kathy's evil. I'm an evil fighter. It's simple. I'm gonna
have to kill her.

Spike: I say we go out there and kick a little demon ass! What, can't go without your Buffy? Is that it? Too chicken? Let's find her! She is the Chosen One, after all. Come one, vampires, rrrr, nasty! Let's annihilate them. For justice, and for... the safety of puppies, and Christmas, right? Let's fight that evil! Let's kill something! Oh, come on!

D'Hoffryn: The flaying of Warren Meers? Oh, truly inspired. That was water cooler vengeance. Lloyd has a sketch of it on his wall.

D'Hoffryn: Isn't that just like a Slayer? Solving all her problems by sticking things with sharp objects.

So i make a lot of mistakes. a lot of wrong bloody calls. a hundred plus years and there's is only one thing i've every sure of:you. i've seen the best and worse of you. i've seen you try. your the one Buffy-Spike "Touched"

Xander: the first day of kindergarten you cried because you broke the yellow crayon an dyou were too afraid to tell anyone. you've come pretty far, ending the world. not a terrific notion, but the thing is, yeah, i love. i loved crayon-breaking Willow and i love scary veiny Willow. so if i'm going out, it's here. if you wanna kill the world, well then start with me. i've earned that.
Willow:you dont think i wont
Xander:it doesnt matter. i'll still love you-Xander "Grave"

Xander: We were just talking then.
Willow: Xander, I can do this, I promise. But not without you.
Anya: Should we maybe tell Giles? You know, now that we're really ready? It's not like he's going anywhere. Ever.
Willow: No. No one else can know. Not Giles, not Spike, not Dawn. They might not understand.
Tara: What if something does go wrong?
Willow: I'm telling you it won't.
Xander: Scenario -- We raise Buffy from the grave, she tries to eat our brains. Do we, a) congratulate ourselves on a job well done-
Willow: Xander, this isn't zombies.
Anya: Zombies don't eat brains anyway unless instructed to by their zombie masters. A lot of people get that wrong.
Willow: This isn't like Dawn trying to bring Mrs. Summers back, or anything we've dealt with before. Buffy didn't die a natural death. She was killed by mystical energy.
Tara: Which means we do have a shot.
Willow: It means more than that. It means we don't know ... where she really is.
Xander: We saw her body, Will. We buried it.
Willow: Her body, yeah. But her soul ... her essence ... I mean, that could be somewhere else. She could be trapped, in-in some sort of hell dimension like Angel was. Suffering eternal torment, just because she saved us, and I'm not gonna let ... I'm not gonna leave her there. It's Buffy.

~*~*~*
Buffy (sing): There was no pain no fear, no doubt till they pulled me out of Heaven. So that's my refrain. I live in Hell 'cause I've been expelled from Heaven. I think I was in Heaven. So give me something to sing about.

~*~*~*
Spike (spoken): You should go back inside. Finish the big group sing. Get your kum-ba-yayas out.
BUFFY: I don't want to.
Spike: The day you suss out what you do want, there'll probably be a parade. Seventy-six bloody trombones.
Buffy: Spike...
Spike: Look, you don't have to say anything.
Buffy (sings): I touch the fire and it freezes me.
Spike (sings): I died...
Buffy: I look into it and it's black.
Spike: This isn't real.
Buffy: But I just want to feel.
Spike: But you can make me feel.

More soon! :)

Man, talk about prequel to The Gentlemen. also we never seen buffy sick before which is new experience all in itself. had some great quotes:

Xander:here's some flower for me lady
Buffy:i think those are called balloons
Xander:aww...stick them in water and maybe they'll grow.

buffy:hospital zone. no singing(definitely the fever is frying her brain)
little buffy:Power Girl will save you!!!

Willow:sure me and xander played doctor when we were little a the time
(noticing Cordy's gaze)Xander:she means literally. i didnt have the heart to say she was playing it wrong
Willow:What? how did you play doctor?(to buffy)

thirdly, we dont even know if this is actually going to happen. it maybe a tentative thing. Angel is US show, and US citizens should be able to buy it too. when i read it the second time...it sounds pretty fishy, or they didnt released all of the information, such as why US cant receive the soundtrack.

Superherohype! (http://www.superherohype.com/x-men/index.php?id=1868):

ComingSoon.net has broken the news that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" creator Joss Whedon is interested in taking on X-Men 3...

ComingSoon.net got a chance to talk to Joss Whedon about the rumors that he may be interested in taking on X-Men 3, now that Bryan Singer is out of the picture. Whedon says that nothing has been offered to him for "X3," but if offered, he would LOVE to do the third film (hint, hint Fox!).

It would be awesome if Joss directed X3!

Summers

it would be so cool. i mean Joss said once he put Kitty Pride(Shadowcat) as one of the many character traits into Buffy Summers. Plus he puts a lot of Stan Lee atmosphere of character relationships into the btvs, but w/ his own Whedon spin to them.
and he really did a good job on the comic arc in the Astonishing XMen series.

when i found out Singer wont do X3, Whedon was the first guy i thought of.

I never watched an episode of Buffy while it was on television. However, I have been watching the show season by season on DVD, and over the course of the show, it became one of my all time favorite shows. I just could not wait until the seventh season came out on DVD, so I found an alternative way to see season seven.

I would have to say that it deserves a solid 8.5/10.

Things I did not like :

- The overall storyline of having to train potential slayers. After the Iniative, I think it is the worst theme for a season. Most of the girls were annoying as hell. Especially the black chick Rona and Kennedy. (Kennedy : What an annoying, mouthy B**CH.)

- The segments with Buffy as a councelor. Buffy is a slayer, and anytime they have tried to give her a regular job, it just ends up taking up time. The only time I really liked seeing her as a councelor was in the episode "Him" because she threw herself at RJ.

- The "neutering" of Spike. Granted, he got his soul at the end of season six. But, I wanted him to be like Angel, in the aspect that he can still be a bad ass fighter. I wanted him to retain his attitude that he has had throughout the show. Spike is my favorite character, and I missed how he used to be throughout the show. Like I said before. I know that he became a hero, and I know he got his soul. But, he still have could have been the leather wearing bad ass vampire we all know and love towards evil.

Highlights :

- Caleb : This guy has to be one of the best villans in the history of the show. I loved how he came off like being a preacher, but he was extremely evil. Loved the scene where he breaks the old lady's neck and says that he could not hear Buffy over the cracking of her neck. Great stuff there.

- Faith returning : Faith has always been one of my more favorite characters on the show, and I thought it was cool that they brought her back to help Buffy and the rest of the gang.

- The storyline involving Robin Wood and Spike. This was one of the things that kept me interested in season seven. Robin has been searching his whole life to find the vampire that killed his mother ( who was a slayer no less), and then finds him in Spike. But Spike is now a vampire with a soul fighting for good. Watching Robin struggle not to go after Spike was great. I love the anticipation they built up towards the battle between Robin and Spike. The fight scene between them was extremely bad ass, and I love how Robin was able to bring out the monster in Spike.

Best episodes :

- Dirty Girls : The introduction of Caleb, tha taking of Xander's left eye, and the return of Faith. I love episodes that make the heroes look weak and the villan unbeatable. It only makes the final fight that much better.

- Lies My Parents Told Me : This episode rules just for the fight between Robin Wood and Spike. I love flashback episodes as well, and it was very interesting to see the relationship between Spike and his mother.

- Selfless : Awesome episode. It involved flashbacks to let us know more about Anya's past.

- Conversations with Dead People : Another amazing episode. I loved the scenes with Buffy and Holden. Watching them stop the fight for Holden to analyze Buffy was great. Although I think they went overboard on the scenes with Dawn and The First, it was still cool because it had a "horror movie" type feel to it.

- Storyteller : I enjoyed this episode. A lot of people do not like Andrew and only concentrate on whether he is gay or not. Granted, I ask myself the same thing. However, I have always liked Andrew's character and found him to be funny. I loved how this episode was set up like Andrew telling the story of how it unfolded.

- End of Days : Buffy and Caleb fight and Angel returned. That is enough reason to love this episode.

- Chosen : Not nearly as good a finale as some in the past. But, it was also a very fitting way to end the show. The fight at the school was extremely cool.

- Help : I liked this episode because it involved Buffy and the gang trying to figure out how and where Cassie was going to die. I love episodes that involve visions or psychic premonitions.

- Him : I loved this episode because it reminded me of Bothered, Bewitched, and Bewildered. Watching Buffy and Dawn fight over the same guy was very entertaining.

How I would rank the whole show :

1) Season Three - 10/10

2) Season Five - 9.5/10

3) Season Six - 9/10

4) Season Two - 8.75/10

5) Season Seven - 8.5/10

6) Season One - 8.25/10

7) Season Four - 8/10

I'm glad you were finally able to view season seven vyperman7! You give some really great points. I took the "neutering" of Spike a little differently. Granted, he is one of my favorite characters and one of the reasons I enjoyed him so much was because of his badness. However, I really enjoyed his turn when he received his soul. He was completely different. A changed man for Buffy. He wanted to be what she wanted and needed. And in doing so he didn't come off as so villainy, but as a kind, sincere man. I suppose, for me personally, it comes to character development and how characters change due to new aspects in their lives. In Spike’s case his soul.

I also enjoy watching episodes with Andrew. He’s a great comedic character, fun to watch, and has some really hysterical dialogue.

Faith returning was definitely one of the high points of the season. Faith is just awesome. And having her and Buffy in the same room is great to watch.

Caleb was evil! A great baddie for the season. Coming off as a preacher was a clever device and a great way to fool the potentials.

Couldn’t have said it better myself! The episode Empty Places I wanted to slap everyone single person in that room! I was crying for Buffy when they kicked her out (of her own house!). It’s one episode that’s emotionally moving.

Touched was an episode that could have done without all of the sex scenes. However it was kind of fitting because you have almost all of the characters having sex believing it’s their one night to let go and here you have Buffy and Spike who are just holding each other, Spike telling Buffy how much she matters. How much she matters to him. It’s quite moving.

Season seven definitely had some strong points.

I have only been watching Angel on DVD as well.

I have seen the first three seasons. I cannot wait until my season four set arrives. I already pre-ordered it on Amazon. I really want to see the first episode of season four, to see how Angel gets out of the box Connor trapped him in, and where exactly it was that Cordelia went. Wesley is also on the outs with the group, and I want to see how he gets back in their good graces. The thing that sucks, is that he was only doing what he thought was right under the circumstances.

I am a bigger fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer than I am of Angel, but I still think that Angel is a very good show. I am going to have to go back and watch the first three seasons of Angel again, because there are a few things that I have forgotten.

My favorite season of Angel is still the first season. I really liked Doyle, and it sucks that he was killed after only eight episodes. The first season also had a few crossover Buffy episodes as well. The second season was pretty good, and I really liked the third season. I think my favorite episode of Angel after "I Will Remember You" and "Hero", would have to be the episode "Sleep Tight" that ends with Holtz stealing Connor into the Hell Dimension. This is the episode where Wesley also goes on the outs with the group.

He was almost the opposite from Angel in many aspects, and i think because he doesnt feel guilty. He doesnt need to feel guilty as compared to Angel. He grew more w/out a soul, then Angel w/ a soul. At the end of Seeing Red Spike a vamp w/out a soul was feeling guilty for what he did. And Spike was mentally ready for a soul whereas Angelus never would have think of such a thought. I loved seeing Spike's journey more than Angel's because of his difference to Angel.

Second thing i viewed differently is Buffy being a counselor. That job fits Buffy so well because basically Buffy was at times a counselor. My favorite episodes of her counselorness was actually Help. That job fitted her perfectly much like Will and Xand said.

i totally agreed on the potentials, but for me its love/hate relationship. i realized now that the potentials were actually suppose to represent the female audience(it just took Chosen to really see it that). but i loved the idea of it. I dont want to speak for the men, but for girls/women we dont have a lot women characters to look up too, or even to relate to. and the potentials especially in Chosen is very dear to me. seeing the all the girls from various ages and nationalities. just the idea of potential slayers is just so empowering. but that's just me.

there are only two more things i didnt like and that was Giles and Willow. To me they seemed out of character especially Giles. W/in five minutes Giles was willing to kill Spike, but i think his own bias was clouding his judgement. in this season i stopped seeing Giles as the father figure because he became the Watcher Council. In fact at times he sounded like Quentin. On Willow i thought it was too soon for her have Kennedy as her girlfriend. It didnt make sense. the previous year Willow was on a grieveness ramage and a year later she is sleeping w/ Kennedy. It didnt make sense.

episodes i love
Lessons-great at the end when all the Big Bads come. at the time people thought Buffy was going to be the big bad
Beneath You-the scene w/ Spike telling Buffy about his soul and he is resting on the cross while he burns
Same Time Same Place-freaked me out...and the guy who plays Gnarl played one of the Gentlemen and the Ubervamp
Help-Cassie was a great character, and emphasized at the end that Buffy cant always save people which is relevant for this season.
Selfless-Anya centric episode
Conversation W/ Dead People-nuff said
Bring On The Night-one of best Buffy speeches, and Joyce's return
Showtime-Scooby action w/ the mind and her fight w/ the Ubervamp "i'm the thing demons are afraid of, and we going to show them why. Welcome to Thunderdome"
Potential-sweet xander's speech to Dawn, and at the time everybody thought Dawn was going to be a slayer because her blood.
Storyteller-comedy of Andrew, i loved how he said Vampire differently. there references to past btvs episodes everywhere. i loved the morning scene w/ spike, buffy, and anya in slow motion.
Lies My Parents Told Me to Chosen-just a great lead up to the finale that didnt stop, and just had you hanging by the bit.

but the one episode i can never can watch is Empty Places. i always gets me mad because it didnt make sense. i mean i understand they were scared, but for them to kick buffy out was out of line especially from a military standpoint. Willow was afraid to use her magic, and all they had was Faith and Wood after Buffy left. And if you alienate Buffy your going to alienate Spike too. not to mention it was her house, and that she's the one that's been working to feed and shelter everybody. i mean in the standoff she said she is willing to hear suggestions. It felt very selfish, whiny of the Scoobies and Potentials, who wouldnt even be alive if it werent for buffy. i loved what Spike said to them in Touched because it was all true especially Giles's part because he wasnt accostumed to Buffy not needing his support. However, i find it interesting that many people(including me) wanted Buffy to tell them she was right along, or to hold a grudge(no pun intended). But she didnt. She didnt speak anything of the night she was kicked out, in fact, she was seeing the big picture while everybody else at the time was concentrating on the small matters. and to me that speaks volumes of her character.

and i loved the Scythe weapon :)

oh, okay. i thought you saw the reruns or read the episode summaries .

another episode i shouldve added was Never Leave Me because it had the Watcher Council blown up, and the scene where Buffy said she believed in Spike.

I still think Giles was a hypocrite because in First Date he snapped at the Scoobies for going on dates, even though everything was fairly quite. But then in Empty Places he allows Faith to take the girls to the Bronze when: Caleb is out there, Bringers, and trigger-happy policeman. At that time it was far more dangerous, and i couldnt believe he allowed it. That was very hypocritical of Giles. okay my rant is done :).

I wish Giles would have came to Angel in season 5. I bet Wesley would have kicked his ass after they way Giles and the scoobs treated him.

I think Giles would be in shock.

vyperman7: I was just curious because I didn't know if you've seen season five of Angel yet. I don't want to post anything that might spoil it for you (if you haven't seen it stop reading my post to Summers when you get to the episode's name!).

Summers: Great points. I also have a love/hate relationship with the potentials. I think it had to do with all the whining they did. It got so annoying. But when Willow gave them Slayer strength they became tolerable. I started to really like the potentials in the Angel episode Damage that has Dana as a slayer. It was really neat seeing Andrew and all the potentials there.

And I totally agree with what you said about Willow and Kennedy. It was totally unlike Willow to be with Kennedy. I mean Kennedy was a spoiled, selfish, little twit! I despise their relationship, really. But, what can you do?

Summers
08-12-2004, 02:51 PM
all the potentials i liked were nearly killed off. i mean Molly, Amanda, Vi, and Cho-Ahn were the only ones i enjoyed. Cho-Ahn was so funny. that shouldve killed Rona or Kennedy, but what done is done. Still though the last season was not boring, and it was kept us on our toes. Overall season seven is one of top three seasons, but i love all the seasons. just some more than others.

i think Wes could hold his own probably w/ a rifle or gun, but Giles is good w/ other weapons Wes isnt to familiar w/. It still would be a good fight though.

Dana rocked because she was so insane, but very powerful. i loved that scene when all the slayers come out of the shadows behind Andrew. oh, i loved it that scene :). and Andrew tells Angel "your not on our side anymore". i'm glad they took Dana because W&H is a place of hell. when i saw those slayers i thought that's Buffy's idea and Will's magic did that. gee, i was grinning w/ Buffy pride.

I have only seen the first three seasons of Angel, because I have only been watching it on DVD as well. While I do like Buffy more, Angel is still a very good show. My favorite season is still season number one because of Doyle and because of the Buffy crossover episodes. Season two was pretty good, and season three was very good.

My top 5 :

1) I Will Remember You - Angel and Buffy get to be together and Angel gets to experience life as a human. Messed up ending though with only Angel getting to remember what happened

2) Hero - The tragic death of Doyle. It was a great episode overall, especially since this is where Cordelia gets the visions.

3) Sleep Tight - Wesley thinks Angel will drink Connor's blood and kidnaps him. However, Angel was never the problem. Wesley is stabbed and left for dead, and Holtz steals Connor and jumps into the hell dimension.

4) Five by Five - Faith returns and is recruited by Wolfrahm and Hart to kill Angel.

5) Darla - Awesome flashback episode.

I loved that scene. I get a little teary eyed seeing part of the Slayer Army. Its just so cool to see that here you have the Wolfram&Hart team, trained and armed to the teeth and then you have your little pony-tail wearing teenaged girls and you know they are gonna win.

And yes, I loved Dana. Such a scary thought of there being a pyscotic Vampire Slayer out there. I loved how Spike kept repeating it and couldnt get his mind around it.

I didnt like when Andrew told Angel that the orders came from Buffy. I dont like to see Angel get treated like that by people he cares about and has fought for and with.

BTW, I love your icon, Summers. :)

actually i liked that Andrew told him that he wasnt on the same side anymore because its true. Imagine if Angel did take Dana to W&H. there are so many people there that are not trustworthy. they would exploit Dana for their own use. Look at what an employee tried to do to Nina....werewolf plater, and Fred wouldve have died if Angel accepted their offer. i believe the Scoobies/Slayers were right. Really Andrew just told him the same thing Spike have already told him about W&H, and the next episode Your Welcome Cordy says the exact same thing. in the end Buffy and her slayer army, Andrew, Spike, Cordy, and the special ops guy from Conviction said the same thing.

i'm not saying it wasnt painful to see but they were right. i realized that long ago when he accepted their offer in Home in season four. But the thing is Angel made his choice, and there are consequences to them.

************Angel Season 5 Spoiler Warning **************

I dont have a problem with them wanting to take Dana, they were totally right. She is a Slayer, she belongs with them. My problem was the "no one trust you" part. I just think that they should give Angel the benefit of the doubt. Angel does work at W&H but he isnt evil. Instead of categorize him as evil they should tell him that he should leave W&H because he doesnt belong there.

More info on the Angel CD from COA:

Darling Violetta producer and co-writer of the Angel theme, Holly Knight, told CoA, "Spread the word! I just spent the last week producing the extended Angel Theme with Darling Violetta and it is now completed. Fans should make every effort to contact the people at Fox," she encouraged us, "and express their desire for the Soundtrack Album to be released in the U.S. as well!"

The upcoming Score CD will only be available to U.S. fans on ITunes and the FOX Store but available in retail stores to the rest of the world. "I've talked with Robert Kral and we are at a loss," Holly continued, "as to why this isn't being released here in the U.S. with so many fans where the show was filmed." With all the support Angel fans gave the show upon hearing of its cancellation, Holly is hoping to reunite that effort for the Score CD.

Vocalist, Cami Elen, also gave us more info as to what fans can expect in the new version. "We've extended the theme to about 3:30. Although it is still basically instrumental, I wrote lyrics and a melody that are featured in a couple sections," offered Cami. "The beginning/intro starts with me whispering words, like a prayer and then the melody line, 'you're my sanctuary' is hinted at (this will come in more later during a new section not on the original). We layered tons of guitars on it, added more bass and cello." Cami reassured us that in essence, it is the theme everyone is used to hearing only bigger and better! "I'm hoping Fox calls it something like, The Sanctuary Extended Remix," she laughted.

Looks like for the US folks we'll be able to order it from the online Fox store, just not in retail stores. That's better news then what we've been getting.

Buffy movie news (kind of...).! From IGN (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/538/538750p1.html):

Since Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel left the airwaves, fans have hoped that creator Joss Whedon would resurrect the properties in one form or another. When asked about the possibility of a Buffy movie Whedon recently told IGN FilmForce, "The fans are interested. I'm interested. I don't think either Sarah or David would want to do it, but there's about 10 other characters I can name who would be totally worthy of movies. I'm just waiting for somebody to say yay or nay."

Would Whedon, who is currently jockeying to take over the reigns of the X-Men franchise from newly hired Superman helmer Bryan Singer, be interested in directing the flick? "I would certainly be involved," he says. "I would never let one of those stories be told without overseeing it."

And what about the potentially cool possibility of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer animated series? Whedon says, "A presentation is being made. It hasn't been bought anywhere, but it's still in the creating stages, so it's still a possibility."

Buffy devotees will be pleased. So, tell us which character from the Buffy-verse (other than Buffy or Angel) you'd like to see on the big screen!

This is great news, but honestly. A Buffy movie without Buffy? Or Angel? Come on Joss. Really.

Summers
08-15-2004, 05:09 PM
man, you beat me to it Spike . i think Joss is a little bit in limbo right now cause many of the actors are moving on. David Borenaz said he would be on board if the movie i on big screen, and Sarah Michelle Gellar said they will she would be on board depending on the script(meaning giving the Scoobies equal screen time). But i think Joss needs to wait and just let the actors do other projects. because the fans wont want the to buffy or angel movie w/ the leads or supporting actors.

btw, hi snaps welcome to the board :)

fyi, Charisma Charpentar is going to Charmed for two episodes.

Spiked
08-15-2004, 06:06 PM
I agree Summers. I have no doubt that Joss could base a movie on one of the supporting characters but honestly the shows are called Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Having a movie without the two lead actors of the hit shows would seem out of place. Now, if we're talking about a TV movie, then I could see how it would work. Just not as a major motion picture.

I haven't watched much of Charmed before but I'll make sure to watch those episodes for Charisma Carpenter. :)

Fenice

i havent got all the Angel yet. i'm still collecting the rest of the buffy books. some buffy books are okay, but others feel like reading an episode but basically in a different type of continuity. I loved the Lost Slayer which basically is set in season four but goes into the future of a dark Sunnydale. The Unseen and Gatekeeper Trilogies(sp?) were really good, as well was Immortal. not all tie-in books to tv shows or movies are really well done, but IMO buffy and star wars books are the closest to watching an episode.

there is also some really interesting academic books by the Buffyologists(professours all over the globe and US) that discuss btvs/ats in a philosophical and religion sense.

Comingsoon.net (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=6039):

TV Guide chatted with actor David Boreanaz who says the rumors he's not up for an Angel movie are nonsense. He's willing to go another round, but not on TV.

"It would have to be a theatrical release," he says. "I'm not into the movie-of-the-week [idea]."

WB execs said they were interested in doing TV films. "I know they wanted to do, like, six films," Boreanaz added, "It's not that I'm against it; it just needs to be a bigger challenge. When you do something for five seasons, you want to continue to challenge yourself... go to another level with it rather than just doing the same thing you've been doing."

Next up for Boreanaz is the comedy Mr. Fix It and he's also signed up for another high-profile franchise film that he insists is not Superman. "It's better," he teases, adding, "'Four' would be the magic number — that's all I'm going to say."

I'm with David. I want a theatrical movie. :)

This brand new single-disc release will be available to own from the 30th November this year, and should set you back around $19.98 in total. The film will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English *** 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Surround and French Dolby Surround tracks. The only extra material will be a new audio commentary by director Mark Steven Johnson and Avi Arad and a Making of the Director's Cut featurette. As for the director's cut itself, around twenty-minutes of additional footage has been added, bringing the total runtime to 124 minutes. I'm afraid the artwork has yet to be released, but we'll bring you that shortly. Stay tuned.

Unfortunately there'll be next to no extras on the DVD but the Director's Cut would be cool to watch. Thought you'd like to know. :)

The montage from ' The Gift ' ?!?!?

Awesome. :D

What other easter egg things do the other dvd sets have ?

Chris beck is going to do the Elektra music ? Cool. I'm really looking forward to that movie.

The S7 background does look like a building with columns, but I dont recognize it.

My friend thought the cover art for s7 might be the end shot from 'Chosen'. That would have been cool.

my sister asked me what dvd are you going to put in first SV or BtVS? i said of course BtVS....we got so many special features there is 16 of them(including the commentaries). now all we have to do is wait about 2 months....gee, i hate waiting :(.

I love the montage! I'm so glad they're putting it in the DVD set!

In Daredevil I know they cut out all of Coolio's scene. He's in the credits but none of his scenes appeared in the movie. It was suppose to be a substory to expand on Matt Murdock as a lawyer.

I have a question that has bothered me since the beginning of season two.....What was the purpose of the Annointed One, and why didn't they advance on him?

Dru
08-24-2004, 02:29 AM
Oooh! I know! I know!!! I'm currently reading transcripts since I need quotes for my sites Quotes section so I know this!!

Ahem. Annointed One first appeared in season one when a bus load of people were killed and a little boy Collin was turned to be Annointed One. It was the whole big thing where he'd lead Buffy to The Master to be killed. Which he did! (But Xander revived her with CPR)

Then in Season two he's the leader of the remaining vampires who worked for The Master with the whole vampire religion thingy. I don't know if Buffy and the gang even thought about him I mean he didn't really look scary ya know? A Little kid. Then Spike shows up and the whole thing with the parents/teacher night and he tosses him into the sun in the cage. And BAM! Spike's the new Master of Sunnydale and in his Own words: "From now on, we're gonna have a little less ritual... and a little more fun around here." *grins* he's a leader of fun with the blood and killing and stuff instead of The Masters Reign of chanting and junk! *snuggles Spike*

Brainiac13
08-24-2004, 02:36 AM
I know that stuff, but he seemed like he held more "stock" with the Master than just being the one who leads Buffy to him. Why does the Annointed One have control over the vamps?

Summers
08-24-2004, 02:53 PM
well, as Angel putted it in When She Was Bad the Annointed One had power over the vampires because of tradition. The Order of Arileus(sp), basically the Master's blood line family, held to the vampire traditions very seriously. If the Master died, then the Annointed One would take over in his place. which is why the Master was teaching the boy their family ways throughtout season one. i hoped that helps :)

Access The Egg

1) Disc 2 : go to Once more with feeling - language - click onto resume then up and B will appear click on and you will find a mini featurette about the Tower records store signing for the Once More soundtrack
2) Disc 4 : go to Doublemeat Palace - Language - click over to resume the up and B will appear. Click on and a screen tells you that there is a dvd rom feature for a call sheet for Normal Again.

Great pictures, as always! Thanks for the DVD review as well. And I totally agree with what he said:

If I had to label a season as "the best," then I think I'd have to go with season 4. The show really came together in these 22 episodes. The "big bad" was big, and very bad, and there were some great guest characters, and excellent stories. Yup, I'd have to say that this one was a great season; the best.

I love season four! Time to start saving up a few bucks! :)

Welcome To The Hellmouth/The Harvest
When She Was Bad
Faith, Hope, and Trick
The Freshman
Living Conditions
they couldve added Lessons, Storyteller, or Help if they wanted to as well :(.

Well you have to understand that I starting watching Angel during season four. So really I've never seen all of seasons one-three (I blame that on my cable network). I just really enjoyed season four. The guest appearances, Angelus, and the main reason why I love season four is for it's continuity. Each episode flowed together seamlessly. I remember getting more excited about the next episode each time it aired. :)

Summers
09-02-2004, 01:37 PM
oh, i didnt know that. i saw the first episode when it originally aired. i think in any tv show whatever season you got hooked to the show it kinda special for that person. Angelus was alright i liked him better in season two of Buffy because he was a far more scarier. here he was just funny(which is good). i say the two episodes i loved him in was Soulless directed by Sean Astin and Orphus where Angel vs. Angelus fight psychology. but The Beast and Rain of Fire were just awesome :). Spin the Bottle and Home were my favorite.

i just think they just ruined Conner and Cordy because their relationship to a viewer was mother and son type, so it was just ewww. i'm glad they redeemed them the last season.

actually to me in every season i just love the continuity :) on btvs/ats

meanwhile Alexis Deniof(Wesley) is rumored to be thought of to star in Spielberg's remake of War of the Worlds. actually Spielberg and George Lucas are huge fans of Buffy and Angel, in fact, Lucas offered Whedon a chance to film in his studios in Australia for season six premiere.

i got the Angel Season Four DVD which looks really nice. dvds always look nice. Faith is in the cover art :) (their are no faces on the discs still quotes). the way it goes to menu they finally changed to it being similar how buffy/sv does it by showing scenes from the season. i love the outtakes, but i wont say anything what it is so not to spoil it for you guys :).

Oh and before I forget, I do feel very spoiled by the Buffy/Angel. And if loving Puppet Angel is wrong, I dont to be right. :p

from what i read Joss and the writers did plan for Cordy to become evil for about a season and half. i dont remember reading what there initial plans were, however; in their interviews prior and during the season Joss and the writers said they could work her pregnancy into the storyline. and it would allow CC to lay low after her baby boy's birth which is why they put Cordy in a coma. since she gave birth in the last episodes of the season. i did read plans for season seven of buffy that were revealed recently, but not of Angel except for plans they had to do w/ season six. sorry, i couldnt be of help Fenice maybe something else read something i havent.

you read the spoiled post :). some people loved the puppet. some didnt. some you havent seen the show ridculed w/out seeing it. i say the angel puppet rocks especially when he's Mr.Grumpy Gills.

i have a question in Supersymmentry( i hope i spelled that right). the portal Fred opened that was Qutorh(the hell dimension baby Conner and Holtz entered) right? it looked like the same portal because Pylea's was pretty and blueish.

They never stated where they were going to send the Prof. but the portal did look like the one that led to Quortoth (sp?). Im a little fuzzy on the details but in Season 3 they had a hard time trying to open a portal to Quortoth and here it didnt really take Fred a lot to open it which makes me think that the portal was not to Quortoth.

He he. It was so funny when Angel was holding the demon's head and the demon was still alive.

Angel: Oh come on. Im holding your head !

I don't think it was a portal to neither Quartoth or Pylea. It could've been a portal to one of many different hell dimensions. It never really said. I wonder if Fred really knew where she was sending him.

thanks Fenice and Greenshady i forgot about that they couldnt open the portal to Quartoth. that makes more since that it could be another hell dimension. all i knew it definitely wasnt Pylea.

i know i loved it when he said "i'm holding your head". i totally forgot the references to Daredevil when they were in the comic book store "i'm Bullseye and your Elektra" i was smiling at that part(and i thought you guys Spiked and Fenice :) ).

he was total Grumpy Gills at that scene when they singing. his face started to get smaller w/ anger....like he did when Spike teased him :)....have to wait until Feburary :(

i know i love Lilah Morgan too!!!!! it seems like she starts to have some emotion that was long gone when she starts to sleep w/ Wesley. i loved her in Deep Down in the conference room.

Eliza's Tru Calling may be cancelled. Fox only ordered 6 episodes. here's the link:

as i know of they will premiere in 2005 like Alias is(i think?)

Yes, Alias will be premiering in January. It's so hard to wait that long! At least Smallville is starting next week.

It would seem weird to hire new writers (around three or four) to help with the new season. Fox might be waiting until they hear the ratings. But if they do that then it'll be about two to three months before any new episodes would air after the first six.

EDIT: i havent forgotten. tomorrow i will find and post the plans/senerios Joss and the other writers wanted to do for the last season of buffy

Summers
09-16-2004, 01:23 PM
k, here's a senerio Joss was planning to do in season seven. i got this from www.buffy.nu:

Of course, it was Tara’s death that continues to haunt many BUFFY fans, and many were in attendance at the convention, as Amber Benson was on-hand to promote her current project and sign autographs on the convention floor at the Inkworks booth all three days of the convention.

"I didn’t think people would be rapturously happy. I was just as surprised by how warmly she was received. I was surprised by how important that relationship was."

Whedon told crowds that he wanted to bring back Tara in the penultimate episodes of the series. While fans knew that originally, the plan had been for the First to impersonal Tara in "Conversations with Dead People" the news that Tara would have possible return for real was met with surprise. Especially considering that in the long history of both BUFFY and ANGEL, Buffy are Darla were the only characters to return from their supposed final resting places.

"In one of the final episodes, the third to last episode, Buffy was going to basically get a ’get out of jail free’ card. One completely reality-altering things that she could have-she could bring Angel back to her, she could do anything she wanted. At the end of the episode she basically comes to Willow and says ’Look at these shoes I got!’ and Willow’s, like, ’What?’ ’I got these really awesome shoes. I wanted them, and now I have them!’ and Willow’s like ’You... used... the wish... for shoes?’ and Buffy says ’Of course not, you idiot,’ and walks out of the room and Willow turns around and Tara’s standing behind her."

Given that Buffy’s reaction to being ripped from Heaven was negative in the extreme, this seems surprising. As does the idea that she would bring back Willow’s lover, rather than her and Dawn’s mother Joyce, who died of a brain tumour in the fifth season. However, Whedon notes that the impetus for the storyline would also show Buffy being self-less, giving to Willow, rather than for her own gain.

"That was one of the instances where behind-the-scenes deal making going south really did hurt the show because we never got to do that, and it would have been cool. What we were doing with Kennedy, which some people responded to and some didn’t, was because of that. Because I knew I couldn’t bring Tara back early on, I wanted then to change the course and make a statement about grief and how hard that is. How hard it was for Willow. To make the statement that you can [recover], that life goes on. That somebody on the show would be in a decent relationship when the show ended.

end of article

i found it very contradicting because why would Buffy want to bring Tara out of heaven after her ordeal in season six. being pulled out of heaven tramaized Buffy, and i dont see her doing that whatsoever. i do see her giving Willow a gift, but not in that form. possibility allowing to talk to Tara one more time from beyond the grave. plus Benson didnt want to the audience to see Tara as the incarnation of evil(the First). i'm glad they brought the "real" Joyce back in Bring On The Night because the last time we saw Joyce would be as The First.

yeah i would have also thought it woulda have been too weird for Tara to come back, but then again i never really liked her

I remember being at some Buffy board and reading an article on Joss' feelings about Angel being cancelled. He said " Hey at least we lasted 5 seasons, it could have been worse. The show could have been on Fox".

I have to agree with Joss'. Fox can be pretty horrible to new shows. Im still mad about them cancelling 'Wonderfalls' after airing 3 episodes. That was just wrong.

I hope 'Tru Calling' survives to see more than the 6 epsidoes, but I would not be suprised if it didnt.

Thanks for the article, Summers. :)

I had heard that Joss&Co. wanted to bring Tara back but I had no details on how. It would have been weird for Buffy to have been the one to bring Tara back. Like all of you said Buffy had a hard time when she came back and probably wouldnt want to do that to someone else. That said I almost wish they had gone through with it. I wasnt happy that of all the great ships BtSV had, the one ship that survived was Willow/Kennedy. Bringing Tara back would have taken care of that.
Oh well. Oz is still alive. Maybe Oz can encounter Kennedy during a full moon. ;) :p

btw, again love your avi Fenice. i just watch to see Lilah and Lindsay pop up.....i love Christian Kane. i saw a movie the other day and he was in it. Right, I forgot about Faith/Wood. They were nice together. :)

Here is a little more info on 'Wonderfalls':

Set against the backdrop of Niagara Falls, Wonderfalls is a quirky one-hour family dramedy about an underachieving twenty-something souvenir shop worker named Jaye Tyler. Her life is forever changed when inanimate figures – including toys, cartoons and anything in the form of an animal, begin to talk to her. In each episode, the creatures' cryptic messages set into motion a chain of unpredictable events that invariably lead Jaye into the lives of others in need.

It was really funny and entertaining. But no, it didnt get katrillion viewers after 2 episodes so no more 'Wonderfalls'.
Oh and this is the show that Tim Minear did after he left 'Angel'.

Thanks for the avi praise. :) I got the idea to do it after watching the first half of Angel season 4. I havent watched my 'Angel' dvds in a while, so seeing Leila in season 4 reminded me of my love for her evil litlle self , so I decided to make a Wolfram & Hart avi featuring all its charming evil lawyers. :D

I'm not sure why but I really did not like Faith and Wood together. I admit they had a few funny moments together but that's about the extent of what I thought of them together. As an item it felt all wrong, out-of-place somehow.

Edit: Buffy.nu posted an article about Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete DVD Collector's Edition!:

The whole lot on DVD in one box coming soon.

Out on 22nd November, courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, is Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Complete DVD Collector’s Edition.

Joyously packaged in a leatherette box, the set includes the seven seasons spread over 39 discs at the bargain price of £199.99.

As well as all the episodes, the DVD set includes various extra including commentaries, featurettes, outtakes, Easter Eggs, trailers and cast biographies.

Plus, there’s a special booklet included and a letter from Joss Whedon himself - although we doubt he’s written each one.

Be warned, with only 10,000 produced, it may just fly off the shelves.

Looks like the DVD set is planned to be released in the UK. Maybe FOX will release it over here as well?

Click here (http://www.buffy.nu/article.php3?id_article=6548) to view the DVD box set.

i love this part in Something Blue when marriage Buffy runs into Riley near the wedding shop:

Riley: Hey, Buffy. What's up?

(Buffy turns back, staring at the dress)

Buffy: Riley, look — aren't they beautiful?

Riley: Um, yeah.. they're nice. A little dressy, maybe.. for school, but..

(Buffy walks towards him)

Buffy: Riley..

Riley: Buffy?

Buffy: I really like you. I hope you know that you mean a lot to me, and if things were different—

Riley: Different than what?

(She takes his hand. He looks rightly confused)

Buffy: I want you to promise me that we can always be friends, and I'd really like you to be there on "The Day".

Riley: The day when..

Buffy: The wedding!

Riley: The wedding. What wedding?

Buffy: My wedding! I'm getting married — can you believe it?

Riley: I don't think "no" is a strong enough word.

Buffy: I know! It's crazy! I mean, we fought for all these years, and then.. Sometimes you just look at someone, and you know.. You know?

Riley: No..

Buffy: I think maybe we fought because we couldn't admit how we really felt about eachother.

Riley: (Confused) Can we start again?

Buffy: You'll really like him. Well, nobody really likes him..

Riley: I just need to clear a few things up..

Buffy: I don't even really like him..

Riley: Buffy..

Buffy: But.. I love him. I do.

Riley: Who?

Buffy: What?

Riley: What's his name?

Buffy: Who?

Riley: The groom.

Buffy: Spike!

Riley: That's a name?

Buffy: Don't be mad.

Riley: I'm not mad!

Buffy: No, you are mad!

Riley: No, I am! Er.. I really.. Wow. Who is this guy? Does he go here?

Buffy: Spike? (Laughs) Oh, no.. He's totally old.

Riley: Old.

Buffy: Well, not as old as my last boyfriend was.

Riley: (Befuddled) Okay.. It's late.. and I'm, I'm very tired now. So, I'm just gonna go far away and be.. away.

Buff: But—

Riley: No, stay.

(Riley walks off, looking extremely confused. Buffy just stands there, watching him go, a forlorn look on her face)

Buffy: You're ruining my happy day.

This may be a Buffy the Vampire thread, but I thought I would review season four of Angel since I just finished the season on DVD.

ANGEL SEASON 4

As you all know I have never watched a single episode of either Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel while the shows were on television. I have been watching season per season on DVD. Up until I saw season four of Angel, I would have said that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the better of the two shows. But the fourth season of Angel blew me away, and actually made me like Angel more. The thing that I liked most about season four of Angel was the fact that after the seventh episode Appocalypse Nowish, the rest of the season felt like one big story arc. It flowed like a season of 24. While this may have been bad for people watching on television, it was great for watching on DVD because you could watch one episode after the next.

Season four had so many enjoyable elements to it. Both Angel and Connor are in love with Cordelia, Wesley has become a cold hearted bad ass who stayed in a relationship with Lilah, Cordelia of all people becomes evil, Faith, Willow, and Angelus return to the show, and you had The Beast which is probably one of the best villans ever. Now along with most people I did not really like Jasmine all that much. She slowed down the pace of the season. But once she got past the happy homemaker facade and her real plan was revealed, the wait became worth it. Overall, this season just kept getting better and better because just when I thought the season could not suprise me anymore, it would do something else to blow me away.

Episode highlights for me include :

Appocalypse Nowish - My favorite episode of season four and of the whole show. The fight on the roof, the special effects, the sky raining fire, Angel seeing Connor and Cordelia sleeping together, etc.. I have never been into an episode of Angel as much as I was this one.

Spin the Bottle - Absolutely hilarious. I loved seeing everyone relate to their 17 year old personalities. Especially Angel as Liam!!

Orpheus - Man this episode ruled. Willow makes an appearance to restore Angel's soul, and we are taken into the mind of Angelus where we end up seeing the two egos Angel and Angelus fighting it out to see who gains control. Perhaps the best part of this episode beside Angel and Angelus fighting was Angelus being pissed off at Angel's love for Barry Manilow. I have never laughed so hard in my life.

Awakening - Another fantastic episode. I love alternate reality episodes. Throughout the whole episode we are actually seeing how Angel wants his life to be, and then it is revealed that Angel imagined the whole thing, and Angelus returns.

Soulless - Watching Angelus antagonize the whole gang is great to watch in this one. Also, loved the ending where Angel's soul mysteriously vanishes from the safe.

Salvage - Faith breaks out of prison and returns to the show. Great episode throughout. Only thing that bummed me out, was how easily The Beast was taken out. It would have been cool if he stuck around a little while longer.

Release - Another fantastic episode throughout and what a great cliffhanger with Angelus appearing to be turning Faith into a vampire. I always loved Faith, and any episode with her in it is a plus for me.

The House Always Wins - I love Las Vegas and gambling and that is why I loved this episode. Plus, it was great to see Lorne in a bigger atmosphere.

Home - Good finale, but a few things confused me. It is never revealed what happened with Gunn and the Panther. Also, it is never revealed whether or not Connor's memory is the only thing that was wiped, or his strength and speed as well. I would have liked to have known if he was turned into a completely normal kid.

OVERALL IMPRESSION :

As I said previously, season four often takes a lot of heat and is thought to be one of the weaker seasons. I loved it from start to finish and would rate it as the best season so far. I have not seen season five yet obviously, but even though I have heard there were some great episodes, I think season four is going to remain my top season. It was filled with suspense, the return of fabulous characters, great humor, some truly excellent episodes, and a bittersweet ending that made me highly anticipate season five.

My Grade : A

Summers
09-23-2004, 10:04 AM
wow, you gave it higher than i would have given it. i loved the first half of the season, but rest no so much. Cordy/Conner relationship was ewww, and the Jasmine was their scapegoat for it. IMO Joss and the writers didnt execute that storyline very well, however; w/out it we wouldnt have gotten a solid season five. at the same time this aired i was involved w/ buffy's season seven which in my opinion blowed angel's season four out of the water.

however, in comparing both shows's season four i like them both equally. because of the comedy and foreshadowing of what is to come in the last three seasons of buffy. season four angel had problems to the extent of buffy's season four. but both of their season fours allowed them to transition the show into a new direction.

Summers,

I actually did not care for Buffy season four all that much. I would still give it 4 out of 5 stars for some great episodes. But I hated the overall storyline with the Iniative, Adam was the worst big bad of the whole show, and I hated Riley with a passion. I also don't like it when the big battle ends in the second to last episode, and the season finale is a stand alone episode. It seems more fitting when the conflict that has been building up all season ends in the season finale. That is probably the reason why I did not like the episode Home in Angel's fourth season as much as some people did. It was a good episode, just like the season finale to Buffy's fourth season was. I just had a hard time getting into them, because the action that had been building up was put to rest.

I just had a hard time getting into them, because the action that had been building up was put to rest.

that's cool. i totally understand and respect your opinion :). many people today still view Primeval as the finale rathar than Restless. as does the same w/ Home. see i loved both Home and Restless very much. but i understand that perspective. when Home aired people were paralleling it to Restless on btvs. Angel and Buffy just go hand and hand..i guess. i loved Home because i mean just looking at the new Wolfram and Hart building and see Lilah again. Plus finding out how Angel will get over to Sunnydale. i guess Home more for me was a continution of Buffy's season seven. just wait until you see Angel's season five....now that was a blast..i hope you will enjoy that one.

i got some more info on Tru Calling. many fans of the show are trying to move to the show to the WB. here's the link:

and Marc Blucas's movie First Daughter w/ Katie Holmes is coming out this Friday.

I have no problem whatsoever with Connor. He is actually one of the reasons why season four is my favorite season so far. The fact that he has all the strengths of a vampire and none of the weaknesses makes him a cool character in my book.

Yup yup vyperman i mean this kid is good actor i think they just got him at of know where from what i know but i might be wrong. But i with vyperman that was one of the reasons why season 4 was good.

I got one question for everybody why do you think they took away vincent karthesir from season 5.

because the Cordy/Conner relationship wasnt accepted very well whatsoever by majority of the viewers(which i am one of them). Cordy was Conner's mother figure and it was disgusting to see them sleep together. One season we see Cordy feeding Conner, and the next we see them sleeping together. It was very much like Opedius to me, and it was just gross. Many fans didnt appreciate it which is way Joss came up w/ the Jasmine storyline to scapegoat it. Joss had to plan something quick because Charisma became pregnant that season, and she was showing in Supersymmentry. Joss does listen to the fans in both buffy and angel's season fours.

The only thing i hated about season four was Cordy/Conner relationship. i just didnt like it. I love Conner in season three and in season five, but in four Joss really ruined Cordy and Conner's characters from my point of view. Many fans(including me) was glad that they were redeemed in the last season. the whole Cordy/Conner relationship was the primary reason fans turned away from Angel. there was peak in rating when Faith and Willow came on the show mostly because of the buffy's fans want to see how Faith returns to Sunnydale. Once the girls left for Sunnydale the ratings became low again because of Jasmine, Cordy, and Conner. every board i went to that's what i observed, and all the articles i read is what it concluded. However, ratings shot up again w/ Home because the buffy fans wanted to find out how and why Angel came to Sunnydale.

the other reason Conner wasnt in season five that much is because Joss was going another direction with show w/ going to Wolfram and Hart. the last reason was because of ratings to pull away from Conner's arc for a while. i love Conner's character just not in season four, but when they showed him in season five many fans rallied behind him and liked him. but majority of fans liked him in seasons three and five. many fans also thought Conner was Angel's Dawn. Dawn worked so well in buffy's season five, and then Conner happened one year later after Dawn appeared on buffy. let's just say this Conner is more accepted now because Joss saved his character in season five which i am definitely grateful for :).

Oh yeah The Connor/Cordy thing was gross!!! I remember ranting and raving at message boards with everyone.... It was sick. She was almost his mom and then she's sleeping with him? Ick.

I loved him in season 5 though! He was so happy and funny and fluffy! It was fun seeing him not depressed or moody. I loved things like him being excited about his powers and things. And the interaction with Angel was just adorable! Really fun!

Actually, I always thought Connor worked way more than Dawn. I liked Dawn in season 5 but, even then, things were happening to her, or around her, or because of her, rather than her being a pro-active character in her own right. And, in seasons 6 and 7, there just seemed to be nothing for her to do.

Connor was always interesting and relevant. And I think he was also interesting in season 4. Yeah, I hated the Connor/Cordy stuff as much as the next person. (Even though Angelus's line, "Doing your mom and trying to kill your dad…
hmm, there should be a play," was priceless.) But the character of Connor himself was always fascinating. And, once you knew it wasn't really Cordy, watching her manipulate him was also fascinating. Really, the way Evil!Cordy dealt with Connor was the way I imagine cult leaders get control of their followers. Every time he had some doubts, she'd mastefully reel him back in. Plus, if you accept that part of the purpose of Connor/Cordy was to throw Angel off his game--which it did--it's not quite as hard to take in hindsight as it was at the time.

Conner's fighting is just plain cool. We never found out exactly what he is i mean....technically speaking? it so sad how Conner and Dawn had to go through almost the same thing. Conner's human and born from two vampires, and Dawn use to be a key but is now human. My teenage sister always wanted to see them together even though they never met. In season five it reminded me what Conner would have been like if Holtz and the events of season four never happened.

Conner rocks!!!!:). But i was definitely ranting and raving about the conner/cordy thing on the boards as well. In the end we got a great joke about in Origin when Conner meant Illyria, and Angel replies "they were suppose to fix that". Dru, your watching TNT(i havent had time) is Angel still in full screen? In Just Rewards they show Chosen in it, and it was awesome to see it in widescreen....i was so exicted that came out of nowhere.

Bewitched Bothered & Bewildered and Band Candy, I think. I also thought the Halloween one was pretty funny.

Cordy to Buffy: "What's your deal? Take a pill!"

He made the deal w/ Lilah and the senior partners. the deal was that he would run the LA branch of Wolfram and Hart in exchange of Conner having a better life. that he and the rest of Fang Gang(excluding Angel) wouldnt remember. basically it was kinda showing us a time paradox happening. at that moment the senior partners(or the guy who did the spell) changed everything at that precise moment, hence the fading away. it was like erasing that moment or that year.

oh, i looked for the other question you asked me and no one i talked to knows the answer. i guess it was basically an assumption that Jasmine and the Beast were already linked together when the Beast crossed paths with Angelus.

Actually Conner was part of a prophecy to destory Sajhun(sp?). the guy who can go through time paradoxs, and Conner was part of a prophecy that would destory him. Sajhun wanted Conner out of the way, so he would be able to live. Hence, the reason behind the false prophecy that "the father will the son" Sajhun made up. The only reason why the senior partners helped Conner(or Angel for this matter) is because they needed Angel. He is the key figure in the W & H acoplaycse. since the beginning the W & H always had an agenda on Angel. to keep him alive so he will be part of their acaploysce. too bad the show ended too soon it would be interesting how the real series finale would have panned out.

yea, Conner basically lost all hope. I mean looked what happened to him since he was baby. All it has been was death and destruction. He was totally lost, and Angel knew that from when he witnessed Jasmine's death:

Angel: Jasmine's dead. (sits) Connor killed her. He's just...given up. I think he's gonna do something. You know, he might—

Conner lost the will to live in this world. to me it paralleled Buffy's own depression and not willing to live in season six. that's why it was so heartwarming when Angel gave Conner hope even if Angel has to scarfice.

Conner is an excellent character to make twists. I remember there was an essay written that discussed Dawn and Conner by one college professour. He discussed what if senerios and new perspectives. Such as, what if Dawn wasnt put in the protection of Buffy? what would have happened? the same w/ Conner wasnt taken by Holtz. The author also stated something I never thought before, and that Dawn's precense allowed Buffy to recover. Why would Buffy want to live in this world in season six if almost everything she had was gone? Joyce died, Giles left, and her friends were dealing w/ their problems that she couldnt really help. and Dawn's precense gave Buffy a reason to come out of the depression.

think about it. it makes sense. majority of the time Buffy would always bring Dawn up when she was with Spike, and she got the job at the Doublemeat Palace so Dawn would be taken care of her, and wouldnt be taken away from her.

i'm sure he will. Whedonverse actors are very versatile from drama, comedy, physical comedy, singing and dancing. i mean they have to do all sort of acting that many actors wouldnt be able to do in a tv show drama. and hence for all the actors improving each season, and i mean all of them from Buffy to Angel.
