They aren't going to be splitting up the season on DVD, are they, a la Family Guy? I hate when they do this. It's such a cash grab. Keep each season as one set. That's my preference.

I think it's a move to get more people into the show before 2nd half of season starts.
I'm glad FOX is demonstrating such liking for the show and giving it extra opportunities.
Also, they're running 13 eps before winter break!? Cool.

I think it's a cash grab, personally. They release them in half seasons, but they still charge people close to the price of a full season.

Not going to happen. If it isn't a full season dvd, im not interested.

I know it seems to be a "cash grab" but also remember how expensive it is to license music. That might be the "price to pay" to license everything for DVD release... we wouldn't want GLEE with replaced music now, would we? (Gah. That'd be terrible.)

I was thinking today, the must make back some of their licensing fees through the iTunes downloads of the song.

I wouldn't want to see it with other music, but honestly, I just don't think that is why they are doing it. I just don't buy it being anything other than what I said earlier, a cash grab. People will buy it cause they like the show and they will buy the next volume and so on, because they have no other option.

They could just buy the episodes on iTunes.

True. There are other less quality options, but ultimately, people like having the actual collection.
There are ways I could have had Supernatural before it came out, but I wanted the real thing. Not a burned copy.

:( I accidently dropped a disc when I was opening it, and it hit the kitchen floor...
There was a small scratch on it and it would freeze at some parts for a few seconds throughout the episodes.
But I started rubbing the scratch to make it go away, but it didn't fully go away but at least it doesn't freeze anymore. :)

From dvdactive.com:
"Fox Home Entertainment has announced 7-disc DVD ($59.98) and 4-disc Blu-ray ($69.99) releases of Glee: The Complete First Season for the 14th September. Extras include extended episodes, a sing-along karaoke, behind-the-scenes of “The Power of Madonna” episode, Glee Makeovers, never-before-seen “Sue’s Corners” and a dance tutorial titled “Staying in Step with Glee.” "
So any of us who bought volume 1 are out of luck. Though apparently there will be a $10.00 rebate if we bought volume one which you can redeem at www.gleebatedvd.com (http://www.gleebatedvd.com) (when the dvd is available)

For those who already have Volume 1: Road to Sectionals, you can get Volume 2: Road to Regionals for $39.98. The rebate doesn't apply when you get Volume 2 however. It does come on the 14th of September like the Complete First Season.
It will also have the extras from the Glee: The Complete First Season that weren't included in Volume 1: Road to Sectionals.
-Glee Music Juke Box
-Glee Sing-Along Karaoke
-Staying in Step with Glee
-Sue's Corner
-Bite Their Style: Dress Like Your Favorite Gleek
-Behind the Scenes of the Madonna Episode
-Making of a Showstopper
