View Full Version : Peter 2.0
I have to say that I am really enjoying how proactive and confident Peter is this season. I know we're only 2 episodes in but wow he's really gone through some changes. For the better! He quickly assumed and used that one dude's power and he over took him!
Really cool thus far. :) It's like if S1 Peter grew up and now can use his powers :D

Peter has been awesome so far, as I said before, he might turn into the next Clark Kent with his super speed dash away!

Peter was definitely clarkish. It looks like heroes is trying to turn it up a few notches.

I think he will be good this season despite not having multiple powers.

Liked him, but the fight was kind of dissapointing and none climatic.

Eh, fight sucked. Nice that he jacked that guys powers though. I'm just still peaved he doesn't have his old power back or at the very least he could have mulitple powers from when he touched Sylar back in the finale but noooooooo, still with the lamey lameness single power.
I am disappointed that he didn't go see Nathan - I want them to hang out some before Nathan reverts all the way back to Sylar, :(.

My favorite parts were definitely with Peter in them. I HOPE he stays this way, wanting to use his powers for good instead of being manipulated. I was worried when HRG showed up asking for help, but Peter held his own and made the rules, instead of being a lapdog. I hope they flesh out his obsession with saving people even more, i can see that being an interesting part of the plot.
I was tired of Peter being a pawn all the time, to the point where i expected him to mess things up when he shows up in the story. But im happy theyre FINALLY getting him back to season 1 Peter. Now its just Claire who continues to mess things up, haha.

Well she is a Petrelli, lol. I liked Claire in the premere though and I rarely like Claire scenes. I don't know if I'll fast foward threw all her scenes when I rewatch outta boredom like I usually do but at least on the FIRST veiwing - it wasn't that bad to watch her scenes. The scene "truth-ish" scene with HRG is acutally one of my favs of the ep.

I agree, i didnt actually dislike Claires scenes until the very end when she, once again (oops?!), doesnt use common sense and lets that other girl see her fall and put herself back together. Besides that, i wasnt rly hating her being in scenes, its just that i no longer look forward to her being in them. Looking back, your right, her talking about truth to HRG was cute.
I didnt look forward to Peter being in the show, but now i do again...So heres to hoping ill feel that way about Claire again soon. Tbh, id just be happy with her becoming mature and wanting to embrace her powers and life as a hero, instead of acting like theyre a curse. Back in Fugitives, i thought it was a break through when she hopped on that plane and freed the other characters, but then they just had her go back to living with her family and dealing with teenager angst.

Because it's one thing with the "save the cheerleader save the world", you know she is important and saving her is important, so her development is important and her dangers are important. But now? she is just an average girl with regenerative capabilities.
I found it very strange that a college girl wanted to investigate the homicide. Unless she actually did it and it's trying to cover it up, it just pushes the story in a way that is not fluent, but forced.
We'll see.
I just hope that peter gets all his powers back and I think we now know how he gets his scar. After the scar Peter will try to be stronger and defeat these people and gain his powers back.

I've always liked Peter, but this season's version is much better. I loved that he only helped HRG to get Ray Parks superpower to help people faster. Peter is more confident, decisive, and proactive this season. The fight scene between Peter and Ray Parks was awesome when they slowed it down to show what was going on, although I find it interesting that Peter can take a power and automatically master it. You would think it would take some time to get used to.

I have to say that I never have liked Peter. Ever since the pilot epsiode. Starting with Volume 4 I started to like him more and I have to say I'm looking forward to his story line this season. I think it has to do with his personality since he really changed over the course of V4 and I like the "only hold onto one power" ability because it gives him new things to deal with. So I hope he never gets his old ability back!

So what's going on with him though? It seems as if he still only has one power at a time but I'm not sure. They haven't cleared it up for us. And when and where did Peter get Mohinder's power?

This season I defently believe he is peter with the golden heart. Saving lives one at a time with his powers. He knows all of there names and how many and he truly cares. He really is like a superhero but without the cape.I defetntly think the writers gave us season 1 peter back. He still has his past decisions on his belt and uses them to not make the same mistakes but he is still that nurse that cares and is not dark. He is just trying to live a life and help the world and that is the peter we know and love.

Um....... I thought Peter for some reason did have his old power back, because when he jumped, and soared through the alley way he ripped open the car door to save the pregnant women, so I was like "oh hmmm must have his old powers back... cool!" hope the writers explain this....

TBH, I haven't been a fan of their major depowering of Peter, I thought it was just lazy writing and an easy out, I still think it is. Unfortunately it's something they do all the time when writing themselves into a corner. I never really saw him as over powered in the first place since he still had limitations of using only one power at a time and was overall a jack of all trades but a master of none.
Character wise, it's nice that he's doing something more than just being a complete and total tool, but there's still several episodes to go. I'm still annoyed that they never addressed what happened to Caitlin.

Well the writers kinda had to de-power Peter. He was like a god. Being so powerful, the writers would literally write themselves into oblivion. For every situation, people would ask themselves, "why didn't Peter use this power, or that one?" Plus the writers had to build the bad guys' stories a bit, and let them do their thing without them having to worry about badass Peter stomping in and unleashing a can of whoopass on them.

Yea that pissed me off to. I mean, supposedly Caitlin meant so much to Peter; but he threw her under the bus. Makes zero sense for the "good guy", doesn't exactly do his character justice.

I'm still hoping they will go with the "his power is just broken because of emotional guilt" thing. He did shoot his father afterall, that's bound to wreck havok with his abilities. Yes, Sylar is ULTIMATELY to blame (copout) but if Slyar didn't tk the bullet to have a little chat with Pappa Petrelli with his new nifty lie detector ability - Peter would be the sole person to blame and Peter's got to realize that.

We're quite lucky that he has the ability to gain one power at a time through touch. If the formula had given him a different power, say X-Ray vision, he would be dead right now. After injecting himself with the formula, he grabbed his brother and jumped out the window. How lucky is that?

Nathan could Fly. If Nathan can cart Matt Parkman around like he did in Season two, then he could have certianly landed his brother to safety.

I actually prefer Peter with just one power. It forces him to team up with other Heroes to take on the villains instead of doing it solo. To me, its more interesting for the villain in the story to have more powers than the heroes so he/she poses more of a threat, instead of wondering the whole story why "Super Peter" doesnt just take care of business.

Yes, Nathan can fly. Or could, since he's "dead" now. But it wasn't Nathan that did the flying, it was Peter. After they landed safely, Nathan was upset with Peter and told him that it was Peter who did the flying. So in that case Peter is lucky that he got the power he received from the formula.

I know, I'm just saying that Nathan COULD have landed Peter safely if it turned out Peter jumped out of the window with Nathan and didn't have the ablility to fly.

Absolutely. But that wasn't my point. My point is that we are fortunate that Peter can take other people's ability as he needs to. Each person that took the formula wound up with a different, seemingly random ability. Peter could just as well wound up with the ability to do something totally different and would not have the ability to copy other people's powers. That could turn out to be a bummer.
RedPhoenix23
09-24-2009, 03:12 PM
That's why I think he got the same ability back that he had before because it's odd that he got something that similar at random. It's just busted right now because of his emo status over his dads death and everything else that has gone on lately. Kind of like how Nikki's superstrength was messed, how elle couldn't keep her electricity for going haywire, and how Sylar's power was busted for a bit when he went norman bates and kept switching to his momma, lol.

I disagree, he already had limits in only being able to use one ability at a time and then the issue that he shouldn't have been able to effectively use the powers he gained as if he always had them. But I guess after he got Sylar's "what makes it tick" ability along with "the hunger" they basically did have to reboot Peter but whatever corners they wrote themselves into was their own fault and again, bad writing with this being a cheap out and made everything he did leading up to seeing daddy, pointless. They pulled the same thing with Hiro and several other times in season three. IMO it would have have been interesting to see him fighting the hunger/addiction thing since it's obvious that he and Sylar were meant to be two sides of the same coin.

I am definitely a fan of Peter's character this season so far, but I wish he had his old power back. This 'one power at a time' thing is sort of annoying. I am sure he will get it back eventually. In every episode that features 'future Peter' he has multiple abilities.
