Recently, I have started to rewatch the entire series on DVD/HD DVD/Blu Ray whatnot. I've also decided to post my thoughts on each season, except season 1 which already had a thread kinda like that. For me season 2, while not one of my big favorites, is still a great season. This season contains many of the best episodes of the series, including "Vortex," "Heat," "Duplicity," "Red," "Lineage," "Fever," "Precipice," "Accelerate," "Calling," and the amazing finale "Exodus." Of course I'm not forgetting about one of the series' finest hours, which is of course "Rosetta." While all of the previously mentioned episodes are great, "Rosetta" simply soars. From beginning to end, the episode is flawless. the essentially "passing of the torch" scene with Tom Welling and Christopher Reeve is perfection. Tom gets my vote for MVP this season, he did a great job. The thing that drags the season down a bit is the Clark-Lana-Chloe drama. Personally, I think that it was just overdone, and was sort of unnecessary. The episode "Dichotic" which is kind of centered around that is really a pretty bad episode that I've never liked. The only good thing that came from it is in "Exodus" where Chloe makes a "deal with the devil" with Lionel Luthor. That would pay dividends in season 3. One storyline that I loved was the Lex and Dr. Helen Bryce romance story. Michael Rosenbaum and Emannuelle Vaughier had a nice chemistry together that really worked and added so much to the show. It would have been nice to see more of her. The introduction to the Kawatche caves and more exploartion into the mythology also added so much to this season. All in all this was a very good season that I highly enjoyed. :D
