Does anyone ever listen to a piece of music and think 'that is so Smallville!'

Simon by Lifehouse came on my iPod earlier and I thought that it was so 'Smallville', especially the early seasons (1-4). I know Lifehouse have been on Smallville before, but I don't think Simon has. I also heard a song by Switchfoot earlier that I thought was perfect for Smallville. Songs like that make me sad, because I remember buying the early seasons on dvd (didn't start watching until season 5) and watching them all in a few weeks in my room. It was awesome. :D

So am I alone in this? I guess it's just the genre of music.

There are a few songs that I only associate with Smallville, like Minnie Driver 'Deeper Water', Lifehouse 'Everything', Hoobastank 'The Reason', to name a few... but that's only because they were on the show in moments that were talked about a lot on these forums :lol:

I don't think i've ever heard a song that hasn't been on Smallville and thought 'yeah that's so Smallville though :)

Totally. Every time I hear "Not Meant to Be" by Theory of a Deadman on the radio, I always think that it would have been a perfect Clana ending song.

what was weird though is they read my mind im not sure which season or episode it was but prior to it i was thinking they should really put in "This is your life" by switchfoot and they did. im wondering about other songs too i guess. maybe "This is home" by switchfoot in the new season as clark moves on from his old setting in smallville to metropolis etc etc. "same direction" Hoobastank is a good one i think to use as well.

yeah, for some reason, probably because its kinda angsty and sad, Vienna by the Fray really makes me think of smallville.
Actually anything by the Fray makes me think of SV!

The Calling: Wherever You Will Go....(Metamorphosis) and Five For Fighting: It's Not Easy (Stray)...Although "It's Not Easy" just makes me think of Superman period, after seeing all those Superman vids on YouTube that featured that song.

When I heard this on the radio, I thought it sounded like a Smallville song. About a week later my son and I are riding in the car, we hear this song and he says, "hey wasn't this on Smallville?" As far as I know it hasn't been used on Smallville, but it really sounds like it.

I do it aaaaall the time ! You get surprised when you realize how much songs have a potential to feature at the ending of Smallville, but yet we had only couple of songs in S8, and they are not anything special.

please share your songs that remind you of Smallville. I have songs in my iPod and they have Smallville pictures in it, mostly CLOIS and CLANA and The Big Three (Clark, Lana and Lex). I love it, when I listen to them and see Clois, Clana and The big three makes me feel like Im watching smallville.

Yep totally agree, ooglebug. A song like How To Save A Life is straight off Smallville's early music agenda! Mind you, it could feature in shows like Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill et al.
Similarly, songs by The Script have that song-to-split-up-to feel about them.

I do that all the time. If I hear a song on the radio that was on Smallville I always look at my wife and say "Thats from Smallville" I love all the music from Smallville. I have the theme song on my playlist and on my mp3 player.

I always thought they should have used "Can't Let Go" by Landon Pigg - it was perfect for the Clana relationship in earlier seasons.

And if they had ended Clana in a better way, with both of them realizing they weren't meant to be and moving on, I always thought Gwen Stefani's "Cool" would have been nice.
