Did anyone realize Bloodsport was the villian in Extinction

in the season three episode extinction Vance acts like the character Bloodsport from the comics. there were two of them and the first version used kryptonite bullets against Superman and Vance's hatred for meteor freaks in a discriminating way resembles the Alex Trent version of Bloodsport which was the second one.

I just Wiki'd Bloodsport and both incarnations of the character do bare a slight similarity to the character of Van. I think it's a coincidence that Van used Kryptonite bullets like Bloodsport did on Superman. If it was him I'm pretty sure they would have advertised him as someone from the Comics when the epsioded aired 6 years ago.
