There will be some cutting of costs, but hey... good news, right?

I'm so happy that it's renewed. 13 episodes sucks, but at least it gets another chance.

Most shows only get 13 episode deals to start seasons... if those first 13 do well, NBC will probably order 9 more to make it 22.
Last season, they didn't up the order to 22 until around the time Season 2 started airing, if I remember correctly.

Yay! With the abyssmal failure of a show I used to like and the cancellation of another show that I like, I was hoping to have SOMETHING to watch come fall. And I will! Chuck is back! *cries tears of joy*

awesome!! odds are there are 2-3 shows from NBC that will fail, and Chuck will get picked up for the full season
although they're reporting that there will be bigtime budget cuts, so fewer appearances by the supporting cast members, fewer writers, and perhaps the loss of one character all together
so we'll have to boost the ratings this coming season to get the show the recognition it deserves!

Hopefully Chuck gets the full 22 episode season.

*still excited about Chuck!* I wonder if Morgan and Anna will still be around next season? Maybe they will make guest appearances when they visit from Hawaii.
DarkClone
05-18-2009, 09:22 PM
yeah, my guess is the budget cuts will be that anna and Morgan aren't around nearly as much . . . the others from the BuyMore won't be there as much . . . it kind of works into the story though, with Chuck quitting the Buymore, and Morgan/Anna moving to Hawaii

Oh but Lester and Jeff...I hope they are in every episode!

Great news.
However Im a little bit worried that the character getting droped will be Casey since AB was more of a known actor when the show started and might be getting more cash than the others.

awesome glad its coming back.
noooo they cant get rid of casey im sure they are getting rid of morgan which is sad too :\ but getting rid of someone doesnt really mean we will never see them agian they could guest star. anyway im glad its coming back :D
DarkClone
05-19-2009, 08:30 AM
i'm fairly certain they'll be getting rid of morgan/anna as regulars
but they might be in 5-6 of the 13 episodes
Emmett will be gone . . . Big Mike might make a guest appearance or two
The big 3, Chuck/Sarah/Casey aren't going anywhere

It is airing after the Olympics in March, but that might be good because we will get 13 episodes with no breaks and the promotion of the show will be huge. Chances for season 4 will be higher because of higher ratings. Plus if there are only 13 episodes next season they will probably all be awesome.
DarkClone
05-19-2009, 02:41 PM
yeah, well, like stated before, this season was 13 + 9 . . . so I'm assuming the same will happen this season, NBC will have a couple shows that tank, so Chuck will be fine
DarkClone
05-19-2009, 09:07 PM
So NBC released their schedule and looks like Chuck will be taking over the 8-9pm slot after the winter olympics . . . heroes will be using that slot pre-olympics . . . so we'll be waiting a long time for Chuck it seems

That's awesome that it's coming back. But it sucks if we have to wait a long time to see it.

AWESOME!!!!
CHUCK IS BACK!!!!! Of course, 13 episodes sounds too small a number for my Chuck-craving to be pleased, but HEY! At least they renewed it! Who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth?! ;)
I can't believe we'll have to wait until 2010 to actually see the new episodes, but I'll be comforted knowning how incredibly AWESOME they'll be.
And hopefully, we'll get the remaining 9 episodes once they see how much we LOVE Chuck

one thing I don't understand is how they would get 13 new episodes following the olympics and still have an option for a back 9 . . . would they air them over the summer then? I mean, I guess if they aired new episodes every week for like 5 months they could get it done
Violet-Shadow
05-20-2009, 02:24 PM
*sigh* We have to wait months and months for Chuck. Well, it's better than nothing. I'm just super excited that this show will have more episodes!!!!

NBC wants to air the show into the summer with Friday Night Lights if it is doing well.

I'm happy that Chuck is renewed, but disappointed that they haven't the sense to see what a great program they have and just order the full 22 with a permanent time slot. Let some other show be a mid-season replacement.....

05-21-2009, 11:39 AM
I don't think we will see the additional 9 seasons unless Chuck replaces some other NBC show that totally bombs in the fall. I just can't see them paying to produce extra new episodes into the summer.

Chuck may be back sooner than we thought this accourding to ain't it cool news http://www.aintitcool.com/node/42666 who say that the show could return as early as this month due the general bad rating that the network is getting

That's what I heard too although if they want to bring it back for Late OCTOBER, they better start promoting that like now!

Wait...they're thinking about moving the premier to October? But it's October now. What the crap?

At this point they would not be giving Chuck much of a chance no promotion they have not released the season 2 dvd for people to catch up it they it's times like this you can see why they are a 4th place network

A lot of kristinīs fans are waiting to see her, including me. So the raiting will blow up for sure and we īll have the addicinal 9 episodes . I never heard of chuck until her name came up, I saw both seasons and I really liked it. Canīt wait to see 3rd season!!

yeah that is not going to help all that much because even if you add Smallvilles entire auidence of about a Million viewers a week Chuck is still not on the most secure footing add in the fact that there has been no promotion and no real ratings draw to pair it with and the fact that Monday night have a high level of compition and I think we will be holding our breath again this year.

Not to mention that Josh and Chris are very dumb in not getting them together instead with these soap-opera type love triangles.
nicmar
10-12-2009, 11:43 AM
yeah that was all fine and well in season 1 but it is starting to get on my nerves. Traditional tv logic says keep the guy and girl apart for as long as possibe but now Chuck has done for so long I am starting not to care
Violet-Shadow
10-12-2009, 07:55 PM
^^^ Keep them apart even when it's ridiculous??? I understand a certain amount of angst and all that crap but sometimes...sometimes it's too much. With Chuck and Sarah it's too much.
And, yeah, NBC totally needs to promote this show more. It's a gem and they need gems right now.

This is becoming a soap opera. Its Primetime. Don't treat Chuck like a teen soap which the OC was. Josh presided over it with his signature love triangles.

It is becoming a soap opera. I just want some honest communication between Chuck and Sarah, is that too much to ask?

Yeah. Josh was a writer for the OC and man did he do a lot of love triangles. That's his signature. But he treats Chuck like a teen soap instead of dramedy.

Good news: Apparently NBC has ordered up to six more episodes of Chuck for Season 3. :) And it MAY return as early as January, though maybe not.

It seems that the six new episodes are officially a done deal thanks to Big Mike's twitter page. Does that complete the season or are more episodes needed to make 22?

The 6 additional episodes brings it to 19. I really hope they can find a way to just throw in the last 3 episodes so we get a full season.

It seems unusual that they would not commit to the final 3 episodes?
Maybe it's a way to keep the hype up before the season starts.:)
