Anyone miss Martha Kent

For me, Annette O'Toole has always been one of the most under-utilized actresses on the show. When John Schneider was on the show they always just used her to agree with him in a 'yes dear' fashion. Then the whole Martha Kent/ Lionel thing was just overkill where she's simply a tool to be used (no puns regarding her name, please).

But for me, the first episode of season four, where Clark is Kal-el and she says 'give me my son back, I want my son back," is perhaps one of the greatest lines ever written for Smallville. Martha Kent displays real passion and it's something that seems lost on the actors today. No real offense meant to Tom Welling or Allison Mack, but I feel like good actors (Aaron Ashmore included) are simply discarded on this show.

Give me good acting again and I'll forgive cheesy lines and ridiculously dull fight scenes.

I'd love to see her guest staring in an episode, but bringing her back as a series regular would be really unneccesary, in my opinion. I think Clark should leave the farm and Smallville behind him.

They were let go by a bunch of monkeys....

Now all we have left is Tom Welling and Erica Durance... because even Allison Mack looks like she's ready to move on...

Very true. I miss Anette very much. She sort of tied the show together a little bit. She was warm and loving, yet firm, and always told Clark just what he needed to hear. He respected her and was more inclined to listening to her voice of reason, she rarely lead him astray. I think it would be nice for her to make appearances on the show. Maybe not a 'regular' but I think she should stay on hand, because I miss her warm, motherly advice. =)

i wished that martha kent would have been in the finale. imagine the speech that she would have given clark , if she found out that he gave up his name and his hopes for humanity.
