Do you think Jimmys funeral was the saddest? it was so sad but i kind of saw it coming when clark told him his secret and him and chloe made up, just to make it even more sad. and when you see oliver cry, omg.

What about Lex's from Season Three's Opener? That was really.... Oh, nevermind. :-)
Frankly, the saddest funeral was Jonathan's, but really it should've been Ryan's. The Episode where Ryan is dying was a tough one to watch. I don't know if I could've watched a funeral scene without a few tears shedding.

It matches Jonathan's. I loved Jimmy. Except for this crappy junkie arc they gave him, he was always such an optimistic character.

Jonathan's was the saddest. When Clark helps put his mothers pearls on, I lost it. Clark is just numb at the funeral and a great Peter Gabriel song is playing in the background with the snow falling and shot in black and white slo mo ,*terrific*

Johnathan Kent's Funeral was the Saddest and nothing can compare. Peter Gabriel's I Grieve wa sperfect, Lana's Hand in Clark's, the slow motion, Martha Kent. sigh. i miss the good ole Smallville days not the crap happening now.. boo hoo poor jimmy the fake olsen. YAWN!
Jonathan Kent's was the saddest funeral by far. I'll miss Jimmy, though.

Tonight's funeral was certainly sad. But not sadder than Jonathon's in my opinion. That sequence from Reckoning was just heartbreakingly beautiful...even if the rest of the episode was bothersome.

I watched it again after the shock went away and it was so sad. Mostly because we won't see AA again. He was the best Jimmy ever!
I agree JK was the saddest of them all! I remember I cried like a baby that night. Then at the end of Vengeance...I can't even watch that ending w/o tearing up...it's the most beautifully sad SV ending ever!

I'll have to rewatch it because I was too incensed to care at the time. I doubt I'll ever be able to watch it without feeling anger therefore it doesn't really class as sad for me.

To me Jimmy’s death is sadder than Jonathan’s! Jonathan had a great and full life, and even though he wasn't that old when he passed away he could at least rest in peace. In Jimmy’s case it's a whole different story! The guy wasn't even 25, he’d never really had the chance to be happy and while he was finally getting his marriage back on track he got everything taken away from him! This death is unfair.

2nd saddest...Clark's dad's was the saddest, I cried the episode after too.
Jimmy's funeral sad, common people even the Whitney's dad funeral in 1 season was saddest than this, and we don't know or care who he was, I don't even remember his name, just dad of Whitney.
This funeral was really good, Jimmy deserve to die, He wasn't even the real Jimmy.

No funeral in Smallville (or TV) can ever be more sad than Jonathan Kent's.
But it was sad though.

05-15-2009, 08:04 AM
It was a toss up for me. Jonathan's was very sad, too. But, I voted Jimmy's as the saddest. I think it was the death with a twist - Jimmy dying in Chloe's arms, their declaration of love for each other, then through the funeral, Chloe giving the camera away, and Diana walking with Chloe that did it for me. I cried more here than at Jonathan's funeral.

Jonathan;s was.
Question though... Ollie and Jimmy's FIRST scene together was in Beast...
Now, Ollie's shedding a tear for Jimmy, like they were best buds? Offscreensville seems to be getting more interesting than the show itself.

I still cry when I watch Reckoning and see JK's funeral. I've seen it several times, and it gets me everytime. Jimmy's funeral, I was still in disbelief that he was dead and then scratching my head thinking WTF when they brought in the brother. So no, it wasn't that sad for me.

I didn't think it was very sad, actually. Not speaking to Jimmy's death, but the funeral scene itself just wasn't very moving.
My favorite funeral was actually Whitney's father's funeral in season one. Now that is a well-put together scene.

I thought that Jonathan Kent's funeral was the saddest.
I Loved Jimmy especially because he loved Chloe so much. I thought that she was really 'seeing' Jimmy when she once told him that 'he was the best boyfriend any girl could ever hope for'. He had so much patience and tolerated so much where Chloe was concerned. His recent 'addiction' was his misguided attempt to 'cope' with all he'd endured being with Chloe over this past year. Not many would've survived those kinds of trials. Yet, he stuck by her until he couldn't take it anymore. His funeral really was Sad. At least, he died a 'hero' and Knowing the Truth. I'm going to miss him.
And Yes, so was Lionel's, as someone chose. Lex didn't even allow anyone to attend. Clark was the only person who attended Lionel's funeral in defiance of Lex and he mourned him. Now, that truly was sad.

Jimmy's was sad. Ryan's was the most heart-wrenching. And Johnathan Kent's was the saddest.
But I didn't tear up at any of them.. just got the frog in my throat.
What got me tearing up was the episode after Jon Kent's funeral, at the end, when Martha and Clark were watching the home video of young Clark riding with Jon on the tractor, and Jon says 'goodbye' to the camera and smiles. OMG. That was a tough one not to cry at.

I have to agree with the consensus and say that JK's funeral was the saddest that this show has seen. I honestly didn't know what to feel for Jimmy's funeral. I was more in shock of the "twist" that was put on it. I guess what makes it sad to me...is that Jimmy was always the "people's voice" of the show. The writers actually gave him some very realistic and genuine things to act/say...and most of the time it represented PERFECTLY what the fans wanted to view/hear.

Jonathan's funeral broke my heart.
The one for Whiteny's dad was also very sad.
Jimmy's I didn't think was too shattering, sad but nothing like Jonathan's.
Honourable mention goes to Ryan, whose last scene with Clark in the air balloon and the end with Clark looking at the empty hospital bed made me cry for like two weeks.
Another honourable mention goes to Requiem. Okay so it wasn't a "funeral" but it WAS a death of a 8+ year relationship/love story.

In my opinion, I feel that Jimmy should never have appeared on Smallville. his contributions to the show's plot have hardly been mind-blowing; he's just been on the sidelines, getting involved in that dingy romance with Chloe and getting involved in minor plots or making small appearances in the main ones. Season Eight killing off our Henry James Olsen has only made this more apparent; clearly, he was included to fool viewers into thinking he was the real Olsen and to have more characters of legendary comic book status in the show. In short? It wasn't the saddest funeral. Jonathan Kent's was.

I was conflicted as to what to think during then too. It was a pretty scene none-the-less. The saddest for me was Jonathan's, but the saddest I thought in context for Clark was Ryan's. :)
