Seriously... The way Clark was talking at the end of the episode, you can clearly tell that he's not himself. Anyone else out there think that Clark was already being controlled when he had that conversation with Chloe at the end? Also, where the heck did Zod come from?

Actually, that's entirely possible. I hadn't thought of it like that, but since the orb was made to control CK, that would make sense. Good call.

Wow, yet another intriguing angle. Yay the possibilities!

i called it way back when we saw the zod symbol that zod could possibly try to control clark or use him as a vessel

clark did sound all weird but then again he sounded like someone who got slapped with a big realization

so its still up in the air for me

I think that this would be a much better spin than Clark dying, which is the other popular theory. The other characters, including the justice members, would really have to think on their feet to fix things next season. And it just makes more sense with that whole accepting his kryptonian heritage jargon, that just doesn't fit the character we've seen develop, or the mythos.

I second that motion.

Anyone else thinking that the orb might be the Eradicator? I know that multiple people (myself included) have predicted the Eradicator several times in the past, but anyone else seeing this?

no. Clark just came to his senses. this is exactly what Jor-el told him to begin with. If he keeps thinking like a human he puts everyone at risk.

I think the idea of a darker Superman we've heard about was brought to the end of this episode. At least that was how I felt when he said "Clark Kent is dead". This was a huge finale.

Clark being controlled by the orb is just dumb and Im sure its not in comics.

After all, everything that's happened in Smallville has been in a comic book :)

Unless it's the Eradicator, in which case it is in the comics. And since when does the show have to adhere strictly to the comics? They've never done that, they've always put their own twist on everything. I don't remember Zod ever possessing Lex Luthor in the comics, or Bizarro being a Kryptonian experiment, or Martian Manhunter being Jor-El's bounty hunter. That's just the way the show has always done things.

But what happened when the orb was kept in Tess's vault ? The security guy says the vault was broken from the inside. Who took the orb ? I bet this alone will answer a few questions.

I don't think we are going to have a Dark Clark because he just said that he would become a full time hero.

I wouldn't be against a Dark Clark because I usually really like episodes like that.
