Heck nah! I am NOT happy about that! Erica Durance is an amazing actress. This has been her best season yet. And now what do they do? Give her as little scenes possible! I was seriously hoping for some more Clark and Lois scenes and at least one Chloe and Lois scene. Now Clark and Chloe think she's dead and that is so not true! Well, at least I hope not! Hopefully she went to the past and finds a way to save Jimmy.

I think theres more to the story... She slid the ring on her finger, so she's obviously either in the past, or future.
They should have done more with that storyline.... or maybe they did, and we just didnt catch on.

It's not surprising that TPTB gave us a small dose of Lois. They never give her a big role in finales and I don't see her cliffhanger being all that interesting. There's no way that they are going to show where Lois goes. She'll just show up at some point next season and explain what happened to her. Pretty lame.

Yeah totally can't understand why Clark was being an a-hole to Lois. It's not like she walked in and basically accused him of not wanting to find Chloe or anything despite knowing that he probably gives more of a crap about her than she does. Despite him telling her that. Nope no reason at all he would grit his teeth a little at some shrew saying that to him while he's basically writing his eulogy.

I do feel though that this leaves for a lot for season 9 with Clois...I can't wait to see how Clark will come back, his attitude was so different in the end, very interesting to see what will happen to Lois, if she will lose all memory of Clark or not...maybe the writers are trying to fix stuff to get closer to the mythos

It did seem REALLY weird that they didn't have a teaser of what happened to Lois and where she went. It could be anywhere and any time, but I guess it's most likely the future. Could she go back somehow and save Jimmy, then put herself right back where she was when she disappeared, like in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? Seriously, though, I voted for the first answer, even though I have to admit that deep-down I still want to see some Chlarky goodness before the series ends. :D

Just watched it, and it really really disappointed me.... Not only did we see no Clois moments, just a brief Bluris she disappears to somewhere in the future and or past, no cliff to hang onto for that. The death of superman was a no show only having a fight scene between DD and RBB at approx 50 seconds =/. The one person who was suppost to find out the secret of clark died, not like the comments where Lois finds out from the ICONIC scene.

actually I really enjoyed that one and only Clark & Lois scene, he's writing his farewell letter in the event of his death and trying to come to terms that this is his last night on earth and trying to find the strength to face it. He's not comfortable telling her his secret and putting her life in danger, but he also did not want to leave things the way they were and called her as the RBB. Heck, in the middle of the fight with Doomsday he was preoccupied with the empty phone booth Lois was supposed to be in. Who does that?
Mindylynne
05-14-2009, 10:35 PM
I was definitely hoping for a bit more Clois interaction, but since Lois doesn't know who Clark and all the other heroes and villans really are, I kind of understand why she wasn't there. Not knowing Clark's secret puts her at a disadvantage for airtime during the big dramatic finales. I think her appearance will be in the season premiere. I hope. She has to have a big role next year.

I guess we have to ask ourselves whats changed this time...remember earlier with Chloe she said to Clark "I wonder whats changed" when Clark went back in time with the ring...
Clark was supposed to send Doomsday to the future but instead it was Lois...that would mean in the timeline she would be in the future with the Legion and there would be no record of Lois Lane as she disappeared/died 1,000 years ago before Clark became Superman, meaning he never met her...
I'm sure for the premier it will involve Lois to fix things somehow...when will people learn to stop messing with time travel lol

The lack of Lois in the finale was awful but then it's always been that way.

Do you think the producers realize that ED and Lois are vital for their show? Do you think they realize her importance for us the fans? Do you think that they want to develop Clois in the future? My answer is a definitely NO.. I still don't know if Clark feels anything about Lois, I'm not so happy that both Calrk and Chloe accepted that she's dead..For me it seems that they don't care so much..as the producers

I'm a HUGE Lois fan, but Lois hadn't much to do with what was going on with the story. You simply can't shove in much in a 42 minutes episode. Then we get 1 min Clark/Doomsday fights...

As would i...all i gotta say is they better get her storyline straight in the first 5 minutes of the eppy or i'm gonna be pissed. And w/ the spoilers saying she may be in 17 episodes next season....they better be right.
I agree w/ the posts about treating her like crap this season..especially clark. They totally play it off like he has no feelings for her in one moment, then the next he's practically drooling over her...makes no sense. I think the ending scene Clark doesn't look for her that much cuz he really does think she's dead. The phonebooth scene before doomsday "fight" showed that...but yes, she needs to come back (WITH HER MEMORY) and then clark needs to get his butt back home, and then Lois needs to kick his butt into gear and get the real, and human, Clark Kent back.

I agree that Lois deserves better. I don't think the character is going to be taken seriously as iconic Lois Lane by everyone until she starts getting more screentime and better storylines.
Lois hasn't had anything of note to do all season, except lust after Clark or the RBB which I think is insulting, and there was no real point in having her in this episode.
Frankly, I think the writers need to stop treating her only as eye-candy and comedy and start showing her intelligence. Lois is my favourite Superman character, and Erica Durance is a beautiful Lois, and she does a good job with what's she's given, but I think she deserves better.
I hope her storylines improve next season.

Not tryin to start anything here, merely just a statement...bc I've never got the chance to show my opinion about that on here...still new. But seriously...lois is awesome, and I already miss her. Clark's not even a man yet...so he hasn't been made into the man he is yet anyway. If he was, he would figure out how to keep his emotions, and be the hero he is supposed to be. Like Lois said, he needs to stay and fight.

They should have ended the episode with a Lois tease. That would have been FAR more interesting than Zod.
Yes,Yes,Yes. Give us a tease of season 9. Although I haven't seen anyone state the obvious that Lois probably doesn't exist a thousand years into the future, if that's where she is.

I don't know. This finale was all over the place. The Doomsday/Clark fight was a total disappointment, very little Lois, too much of Chloe's shenanigan with Davis...It was bad all around.

I really liked the scene between Lois and Clark/RBB. We might not have seen a lot of Lois but what we did see of her was superb. I think she will be in more episodes next season with a great storyline and more Lois and Clark. I'm looking forward to finding out where she disappeared to.

MOD EDIT
Nice one! Your post was reported by the way.
I think Lois will garner much more screen time next season. In fact, now that the non-mythos arc is done, next season should be about Lois being the link to humanity that Clark is now missing, giving him no hope for appreciating his human emotions. The other humans he was close with have let him down and disappointed him. The only one who has not has been Lois, and he treated her like crap when he was obsessing over his farewell letter.
Maybe next season, Clark will actually find the courage to tell Lois how he feels. Of course, in P*S's Orwellian style, Lois will no longer be interested and we'll have another 2 seasons of the Clana routine unless ratings tank so badly because of the way they butcher the Lois and Clark relationship that the show ends after next season.

My Theory: I believe that Lois goes to the future, finds it wacked up because she wasn't there for Superman, and then she runs into this guy from the Legion, which never existed.
Then she and he go back in time and she steals the orb with him, then Lois witnesses Clark speaking the exact same words that the RedBlueBlur spoke to her. She then reads the letter and gets Legion Dude to stop trying to destroy the crystal storing CloneZod and to save Clark. Because Clark is saved, Superman still exists and Legion Dude returns to a fixed future, wondering over how he was involved in the existance of his own timeline, Superman, and everything he cares for.
Then after Lois and Clark have a moment and Legion Dude tells Clark what happened, she gets her memory of everything up until just after her conversation with theRBB wiped.
BooYah! how's that for a storyline?

The least they could have done is have her appear somewhere in the future, look around and gasp. Would have made it more credible. It's an insult to the actress to get so little after she's given so much of her time promoting the show etc.

My favorite scene was with her and Jimmy. The one time I really laughed in the episode. I miss him already. :(
Yep...I loved that scene too..and when I saw AA & ED together..I thought this was a seek peek..at things to come in Season 9..with Lois,Clark & Jimmy...doing stuff together at the Dailey Planet..but...now with AA's departure from the show...were going to have to get used to a younger ..and cough cough...NEWER & Improved Jimmy Olsen. ( rolls eyes)
As for what happened to Lois....Im hoping...she will pop back in the first show of S9...and we will all find out where she went.....but....I have this nagging feeling......the writers might have done that ....to explain why....Lois & ED will not be seen...in the first few shows of Season 9.....cos ED will be off..filming some other project!

I wish I could say I'm happy with the idea that she is going to the future, but I don't think so. I mean they can't some her her future with Clark. So, that's out of the question. IF she goes to the future, I bet it's just to show her her sucess at the DP. But I seriously think she'll go to the past and hopefully save Jimmy!

I think Lois will have a major role in the season 9 premier, and the rest of season 9.

I know! Me too! I can't believe they killed him off! If you re-watch that scene when Lois says "Jimmy! You stepped on my hand!"

It reminded me of Harry from "Charlie bit my finger!"

Welcome!
Lois definitely deserves better. I slightly disagree, she has done some notable things: she gave Clark the DP application, he started working with her, she's written some front page headlines, kicked arse, shown her softer side, loyally defended her family and friends, teased Clark out of moping, and given him a hankering to be closer to home. For these reasons and more she warrants more screen time.
The second half of this season has been so disappointing I honestly wasn't surprised at all by Lois' disappearance. Mad as heck and frustrated beyond belief, but I'm also seriously committed to whatever it takes to get more Lois.

shes most likely not in the future for she was most likely thinking "what other superhero could i fall for" thus meeting the green lantern

I have. In fact, she's on the same show and the character's name is Chloe Sullivan. Considering she's been integral to this show and Clark Kent's development since day ONE... I can hardly be bothered to care that Lois isn't in the finale for more than 5 minutes. I like Lois. I do. Mind you, as time goes on, I like her less and less, but I still adore the Chlo-Lo interactions (not that we've had one in way too long) and loved the Jimmy/Lois scenes.
At the end of the day, this show is about Clark. Right now (as it always should be and has been for a loooong while, IMO), his focus is on saving the world. So, the writers recognize how little importance Lois had in this episode (and in this version of Superman's life, if you ask me) and have her disappear half way through. Meh. IMO, she wasn't really needed at all. Take those 5 minutes and devote them to the Clark/Doomsday battle!

Lois is always sent out of the action because Clark's secret has to be kept from her thats why she gets knocked out all the time. They made a mistake getting rid of Henry because I loved their scenes together, he'll always be Jimmy to me, and him and Lois neither knew about Clark.
