I really wish they didn't have Rokk come back with the ring. In the comics, Superman wasn't told that he would die before he fought Doomsday. Here, Clark knows in advance. I wish they could have set it up that Clark decided to go for broke and not want to give Doomsday time to recover and sacrifice his life. Given the episode just started, they can still do this, but I'm not sure it will have the same effect. Maybe it will, because Clark knows he will die & go through with it anyway.

Anyway, lets hope this turns out good.

I think this will make his sacrifice that much greater. He knows he is going to die, but instead of running he still decides to go for broke to defeat Doomsday.

Clark knew is was going to die........and accepted it. I don't think he had any intentions of leaving the shaft. He just held DD there and waited for the charges to bury them both.

I think Clark may have seperated from Kal-El and physically died fighting Doomsday while Kal-El is still around. I think we saw the ghost of Clark's "Clark Kent" side. Though that makes me wonder, does Clark have 2 souls? I doubt it. Because if one side of him died after being split off by black-k and the other didn't, then it would mean that he would have 2 souls, or his physical Clark Kent side became some lower-energy being. Just suppose that after a black-k split, both the Clark Kent & Kal-El sides would die within 24 hours. I doubt each side would have a soul.

It's still possible that if one side dies, then so does the other because I doubt he would have 2 souls and this is a way of preventing such a paradox.

that is implying that souls definately exist.

kal/clark separated would be 2 completely different beings.

that would mean doomsday would die when davis was killed

I don't think clark got black kryptonided I just think he is broken over loosing Lois and he isn't going to stop until he finds her. He has no use for Clark Kent persona at the moment so Clark is dead to him.

Well, this show did show souls in the past, like in Transference when Clark's & Lionel's souls switched bodies.

I think the Davis-Doomsday seperation was botched. Davis should have also had powers after he was seperated from Doomsday. He is Kryptonian after all. They said he was the son of Zod & Faora, there is nothing human about him. So an impaling shouldn't have worked.

I hope they don't retcon black-k to seperate Kryptonians into a Kryptonian side & a human side, because Kryptonians aren't supposed to have a human side. The Clark Kent side of Clark, though deeply caring for humans, isn't human. So a full black-k seperation shouldn't render the Kal-El side with powers but the Clark Kent without powers. Both sides should have powers since both are Kryptonian.
