Parasite is supposed to look like roadkill, but smallville turns him into a making the band contestant. One more thing: Parasite doesn't give power back,he only takes it. Besides, clark's powers return after a little yellow sun exposure, even after he's drained by the parasite. The writers implied that they were gone for good.
Just a little k-site clarification.

I always imagine parasite like hannibal lecter for some reason. Maybe its his desire to 'eat' the powers of daxamites and kryptonians

Yep. They flubbed another one. Also. that guy really wasn't that great of an actor. If I'd just absorbed Superman's powers I'd probably wet my pants with glee.

Also, his character seemed kinda... I don't know... "responsible"? The parasite we know, if he had the ability to permanently absorb someone else's powers, would have gone all Sylar on his buddies and been facepalming everybody in sight. This guy was a real team player.

Well they never called him Rudy Jones. So he could die, and a guy with similar powers could arise calling him Parasite. I seem to remember reading that there have been other characters named Parasite in the comics.

What confused me was to see Clark completely without powers. I was like whaaa?? And then he just gave them back... Um...okaaay. Really hate saying this, but this episode was so poorly written.

Parasite is supposed to basically drain Clark's powers. But Clark is supposed to be able eventually get them back without Parasite giving them back. Then Parasite also is supposed to eventually lose the abilities he is has drained.

Maybe I'm thinking of another DC/Superman mythos villain, but I thought that Parasite just temporarily drained people of their powers/abilities, to use as his own, and the people still retained their powers/abilities, but drained and weakened for awhile afterwards.

Tonight, he literally just took their powers/abilities and left the host without anything.

yeah, it's a bit of a Smallville twist in order to serve the episode, but I'm quite satisfied with this incarnation.

Was it permanent in this episode? Maybe the power theft lasted longer than Clark wanted to wait and got his powers back faster. The same being true for the others he took powers from.

I don't like how they used his powers but the actor looked the most malevolent of the bunch

Too bad Parasite could never be trusted..............it would have been nice to have him drain some power from DD to make him more managable and more easily destroyed.

Sure made it seem so, seeing as how Clark told him to give him his powers back so that the pain from the exposure to the kryptonite would go away, and it showed the power reversal from Parasite back to Clark.

I thought I saw a flash of purple when Parasite uses his powers but I wanted him to wear purple clothes because I knew with this low budget showing the parasite of the comics is near impossible

The writers totally screwed this up. Thanks for the clarification. It is a shame no one told the writers this b4 they wrote this ridiculous scenario.

I was not as furious with this as I was them killing Livewire. But yes, this was not the Rudy Jones I knew.

Parasite really should have gotten his own episode. I'm all for the show trying to bring in characters from the mythos, but only if they serve a purpose and are developed. Parasite is supposed to lose energy constantly. In order to gain energy, he has to touch something. When he touches something, he drains THEIR energy from them. This means , for superbeings, he takes their powers as well, and can even imitate their voice. The effect slowly drains off for both parties. But I would have loved to see a parasite that chains Clark up and uses him as 'food' throughout the day. Lois would have to go all investigative journalist to find him, could have been a great episode.
This was not the parasite we should have gotten.
