View Full Version : Does the doctor know CK's secret?

I'm confused on this also; it almost seems as if Chloe told this doctor about Clark's abilities. How else could he know? It also seems as if Clark knows that he knows but I don't recall any of this coming about. Does anyone know who knows or doesn't know???

Maybe Clark came out to the Justice League offscreen? Wow. I'd have loved to see that scene.

Yeah, who is this Dr. Hamilton all of a sudden that everyone seems to know and appears to know about Clark?
When was his introduction? What is his deal?

Remember the Doc is an associate of Olivers, and it seems with his knowledge he might be in the "know" about the Justice League - after all, Oliver doesn't exactly make his own equipment.
Once secret identities were known between Clark and Oliver, it isn't that far of a stretch to see the doc as not only someone in the "know" about the secret identities, but also someone who supplies the league with their gadgetry.

I think it was mentioned that he was the doctor who Oliver brought on the team to help with people like MM/Clark. If I recall correctly, it was in Bulletproof that the doctor was mentioned first when MM was shot, then in more recent episodes he was revealed to be this Dr. Hamilton who we now see.

I think he was first mentioned in Bulletproof when Clark Ollie and MM were talking in the hospital

So, he does know about Clark's powers???

Everyone knows Clark's secret, even those stupid kids from the IL knew Clark was superpowered. And the Chloe impersonator knew he was from Krypton. I think that, by know, half of Belle Reve patients know who Clark Kent is and what he can do. If someone is clever enough to put two and two together -and by someone I mean a doctor, not a patient- they'll figure out who he is and where he comes from. If they have any doubts, they can obtain a copy of Lionel's drawings about the traveler on e-bay and complete the puzzle. I don't think it's so difficult at this point.
I know I'm being sacastic, but the episode was really bad.

I'd say so, when he directed Clark to the car in the alley, he said "Its not faster than a speeding bullet, but it'll do." And Clark didn't even bat an eyelash at the reference to a superpower.

That was the line that bugged me. I don't like all of these people knowing CK's secret. Why do these writers think that Clark needs help from others? For crying out loud he's Superman. They need his help.

he was a fairly important mythos character back in the day

He's not Superman yet.

Well, technically he did need the help tonight, considering that Parasite stole his powers.
But that is something that bugs me, I'm no comic book afficianado by any means, but I thought that the Parasite just "borrowed" powers from people, thus draining them temporarily; not completely stole them??

If he doesn't know for sure, he strongly suspects.
So why did Clark call him "Dr. Emil" in one scene?

He's not Superman yet.
Understood but when he hears Chloes voice in a woods hundreds of miles away and saves her within seconds he is only a cape and flight away from being fully Superman. There is no need for him to need Oliver, Chloe and now this doctor so and so. Let him rise to the occasion.

Thanks. It frustrates me that they bring in all of these advanced people from the mythos while Clark still can't fly. It frustrates me. They want to advance everything but Clark.

There are getting to be too many people that know the secret. I think next week Lois will find out. I'd rather that she knew than some obscure doctor.

Wasn't there a doctor hamilton way back in season 1 or 2, working on the nicodemus flower? and later working for lex? this is a completely different guy.

There was another Dr. Hamilton back in Season 1+2, but he wasn't supposed to be THE Dr. Hamilton from the mythos, like we have now.
The doc is kind of cute in an intelligent, a sportscar owning kind of a way! Oliver must be paying his doctors good money!

Maybe he's the one who performed the sex change on Shelby????

I think he might know Clark's secret, because he told Clark (when talking about a car): "It doesn't have super-speed, but it'll get you there faster," or something like that.

I'm sure the Doctor knows all about every member of the JL. He's the one they'll be calling on to take care of all their mishaps and they'll need him ready to do wonders without a history lesson of what makes them tick.

He knows I think he knows from Oliver. Oliver trust Dr. Hamilton and he said it was about time he had a doctor who knew about alien's. He did that for MM and so it's safe to say that Clark is ok with this. Since he knows so much and can help him.

I think it's a reasonable plot point to have a Dr that Clark can refer to from time to time. Even he has medical issues now and then, and it seems reasonable enough to me that Ollie ended up being the contact point that brought the two together. So, works for me but as they say, YMMV. :)
I read the wikipedia entry, and it looks like in the comics they've done with the character the kind of unfounded reversals that Smallville already has too much of - characters who don't stick to character or even behave with the least bit of sense or reality but become anything the writers feel like just to flog out a story.

He knows. I think it’s him who covered up the Clark’s *injury* in Stiletto. That's why a doctor like him in the know of JLA’s secret identities is very handy for all of them, imo. Also Clark (more like the show itself) needs a Mr. Wizard, someone who can help Clark with his scientific knowledge. The producer of S:TAS also said that Dr. Hamilton was needed for that. (It means even Superman needs someone like him for helping hands.)
This is another reason that makes me think Chloe might be a goner. Because she has been this Miss. Wizard for SV until now.

I tend to agree with you, although I'm hopeful that Lois becomes his sidekick. I don't ever want to see him so dependent on anyone else however.

You're right. It has been overdone. Tess knows, Oliver knows, Dr. Hamilton knows, Lana knows and who else knows? I forgot Davis and Chloe. It just goes on and on and on. These writers get too carried away imho.

There is a thread in Theories and Speculation I think- I will defer to the moderator on this-that listed 102 people that knew or know Clarks' secret. I think that at least half of the list are now deceased, mostly because of what they knew.

Another unfortunately offscreenville moment. It's a little out of place quite frankly but oh well. I am quite sure that Dr. Hamilton knows Clark's secret. He's kind of like the "Justice League Doctor" in a way. He also helped Martian the Manhunter in the episode "Bulletproof" (offscreenville moment but was referenced at least).

He seems to know, which is a good thing I think. And I really like this Dr. Hamilton and the actor that plays him. Very natural and good chemistry.

It's as if Lois is the only one that doesn't know. They need to tighten it up a bit.

Thank u for the research. On a side note wiki claims the actor playing Emil is Joe Morton age 61?? if that's true good genes! Cause in the comics the Doc is an older gent, the actor's true age makes sense. but boy he doesn't look it on the show. Go Joe!
