I didn't see any threads like this, so if there is, sorry. Um, I couldn't really hear the voice clearly. Who was it? Zod? If so, how? Brainiac? If so, how? Eradicator?? Its quite confusing. The voice sounded like Brainiac to me, but I couldn't really make it out for sure.

Don't want to spoil it, but just let me say that the "favored" money is on someone we've seen before, who had a fetish for residing in a bald guy.

No one knows for certain yet. Mostly just speculation at this point. The popular opinion seems to be that it's Zod, but the surest bet is probably just to wait and see.

This is true, I'd be thrilled if it actually was not Zod (or Zor-El).

I don't get how he would speak through the orb if the orb was on earth for hundreds of years. And since Zod is imprisoned again, how could be speak through the orb? I know we see the Zod symbol in the finale, but I'm still not convinced he has anything to do with the orb itself. From what I've heard about the "Eradicator" that seems to make the most sense. I thought it sounded like brainiac. but again, how?

I don't see how it could be Zod's voice he's in the phantom zone.

Show runners have hinted at it by saying that Clark will face his "darkest" hours in season 9.

Darkseid

I wouldn't have thought Darkseid. I mean, he doesn't really have anything to do with Kryptonian history, does he? That orb is definitely supposed to be Kryptonian too, right? Theories that are floating around right now are that it could be Jor-El, Zod, or even the Eradicator. I wouldn't mind it being Darkseid, but I can't imagine TPTB trying to bring in the whole Apokolips plotline in Season 9.

Seems like it could be the Eradicator to me...

Darkseid or the Eradicator seem like the only possible choices to me.

I'm fairly certain this is the dialogue:

Orb: Is Kal-El ready to fulfill the prophecy?
Tess: I did what you asked. The crystal has been destroyed.
Orb: THen you shall be the savior of Kandor

However, I didn't have closed captions on, so I could be wrong.

what do you think of this is it far fetch idea, i read it from someone else's though

In the comics, The Eradicator was hell-bent on destroying ways that Clark could defeat Doomsday and in this episode Tess destroyed the phantom zone crystal, meaning DD can't enter it. Appears that the set up is that Clark and DD kill one another and the black kryptonite separates Kal-El from Clark and Davis from DD...while The Eradicator takes over Clark in S9 and becomes Clark himself. This is the new villain.

I don't know if this was brought up in another thread, but since we got the answer, did the orb sound like BrainIAC to anyone? I watched the episode twice and the second time I thought it sounded like James Marsters.

All about Clark

I was trying to figure out who was the orb. Being that Clark can't talk to Jor-el since the fortress fell, maybe Jor-el inserted himself into the orb at the time of the collapse. I mean, Jor-el was also hell bent on Clark fulfilling his destiny.

I agree that black k is used on both Clark and Doomsday and I think half of Clark will die and Doomsday will kill Davis.

I think what it was really saying, was "Why the hell am I pink!? I was sent here to prevent the Traveler from going 'rogue', not Lana Lang!".
