LOL, I think Tess liked what she saw. However, why would Team P&P just leave Oliver Queen laying there?

So far, that's been the best part of this episode. . . other than Plastique, the Injustice League sucked

I laughed out loud at how clever it was, and I think TW must have been rolling on the floor as he was directing Justin....

Oh to be a fly on that wall!

I doubt his feet were anywhere near his train of thought in that scenario.

As much of a quick laugh as it probably recieved, I still think that scene was the low point in tonight's episode. Aside from upping the "sex quotient" yet again, there's no valid reason for it to be included in the story. I think it'd be far better if the writers could tell a really good tale, without resorting to this sort of thing.

... I think it actually is a good bit of story telling and thinking on Olivers part. He was not there to seduce Tess, that's why it was enjoyable, and it keeps her thinking of him dismissively if she thinks he wants her with such idiocy to pull that off. Oliver was using his play boy status in a funny and relevant way.

While i agree with the idea that Smallville shouldn't be too "sexually motivated" It's hard to properly write Oliver Queen without things like this. Being true to the character of Oliver Queen is plenty valid. I thought it was okay without being too much. It was done in a light hearted way without a bunch of over dramatic "passion" to go along with it. It was Oliver in a sticky situation.

Well it was an intelligent way too hide, but for a television episode, it was a bit silly. Did make me laugh thought :p

How funny of him! Crap Oliver. Tess must think he's desperate or something,, but he was just using her, and then coming up with an idea, so that she wouldn't think he was Green Arrow. I think that Oliver being the Green Arrow was the farthest idea from her mind! I love these two. They are one of my fav couples in Smallville right now. Tess was sooooo about to give in. Oliver is so funny. I love him. :D

It was very true to Oliver's character (as presented in the comic books) and I was ROFL through the entire scene. It was hilarious and I am sure TW had a lot of laughs directing that.

I think you’re “over moralizing” just a tad. I knew Oliver would resort to parlaying the near outing of his secret identity as the Green Arrow into another chance to make a play for Tess, it was the logical and only move he really had, there was nowhere to hide and he’d already laid the groundwork by flirting with her earlier. Oliver’s quick change was also befitting of his character, not so much in terms of his notorious lothario tendencies but in the context of his feelings for Tess—that’s why he went ballistic and nearly killed the meteor freak; Oliver is still in love with Tess. So the sexuality wasn’t shoehorned into the plot this time, in my opinion it actually belonged there. Anyway, all of television is about some form of titillation, sometimes it’s subtle—e.g. the X-Files and the ever-present sexual tension between the co-stars, while at other times it’s gratuitous to the point of nausea, e.g. Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, Next Top Model—but it’s always there, ALWAYS. Even Bible-belt friendly shows like Joan of Arcadia are informed as much by the “male gaze” as they are tuned into the spiritual sensibilities of their target audience. That the lead actress is attractive is a tacit assumption, even a desired expectation, is a testament to how readily and clandestinely the value system of television is transmitted, even when the show has religious overtones, casting someone who isn’t comely is out of the question and we’ve all been conditioned to want it that way. Unattractiveness is marginalized or vilified and beauty is both normalized and idealized on television; Smallville isn’t guiltier of this than any other show. The content isn’t to blame; the medium of television itself necessitates the over-sexualized portrayal of life.
