... Couldn't he have pushed out Jimmy's eyes just like that. One small push and, 'gone'! Why was he even trying so hard pushing on them?

I'm not too sure about him trying to resist. He only seemed to come out of a complete trance once Oliver told him Chloe wouldn't like it.

i think it was an internal struggle. he was deciding to do it or not. from a technical point of view it created suspense

Yeah I know from a technical point of view it created suspense and you don't want him to poke his eyes immediately out of course. Maybe he was struggling, it's difficult to say if he was resisting, cause by that his eyes were already completely red. It was not until he heard the name Chloe until he snapped out of it.

I'm responding to your query, 'Davis Bloome', because I wanted you and others to know that I was thinking that at the time, too. So, I guess a lot of us came to a hasty conclusion, IMO. I had a 'Second' thought that Maybe it was Davis who was trying to have more control in the matter and was RESISTING giving in to what "The Beast" in him wanted to do. I hid my eyes, because I figured it wouldn't take much for him to push Jimmy's eyes into his skull since he also had superstrength. Only Davis' eyes had turned red as far as the 'transformation' into Doomsday went, but that was Also as far as he'd gotten into the transformation when he Smothered Linda Lake with her pillow while she was strapped down to a bed in the hospital as well. However, I agree it was Great for building tension and creating suspense from a technical point of view as you pointed out.
