Ever since I started watching Smallville, Jimmy always annoyed me. But, tonight's episode made Jimmy's character so bold and awesome. I have a feeling the Jimmy in upcoming episodes (and Season 9) will be the Jimmy we all know and love!
Anyone else agree?

It's a bummer that Jimmy was addicted to drugs for a little bit there, but he played it well, & it was a nice touch to have Oliver helping him out--just like how he helped Speedy/Roy Harper/Arsenal/Red Arrow. I'm glad Jimmy's going to still be part of the story.

I like Jimmy when his stories aren't about Chimmy. I liked him since Fallout where he concluded that Lex was working with the Egyptian.

I've always like Jimmy's character, and tonight was no different. I've never felt more sorry for anyone in my life! When he came to the realization that Davis was the Beast that had ruined his life, and his ex-wife was harboring him all this time-----the look on his face!:( I felt so bad for Jimbo.
Then he looked like a hero in his own right when he stood up to Davis and taunted him knowing the danger. Jimmy tried to warn all along about Davis, but no one would listen. Not even Chloe.
I'm very glad to see Jimmy's character make a U-turn on the right path, thanks to Ollie's help! They make a good team!;) A team of "good" guys!

I've always liked Jimmys character! I just cant wait until he gets past the drug addiction thing, and he'll get back to the jimmy we all know and love! I do like this new bold jimmy though, it adds something more to his character.
I've liked Jimmy since day one and I'm used to really enjoy Chimmy, too. Now Jimmy's more intense and he has an edge to him and I'm liking him even more. I like him being direct and blunt about his opinions and ideas. It's rather hot. ;)

Always loved Jimmy. I've been more concerned and worried than anything else in the past few episodes. With this episode I'm loving him more than ever. A little sunlight peaked through the storm clouds when he smiled at Oliver. :D

Jimmy is likeable now.
BUT he isnt like Jimmy Olsen at all... nothing like the character..
Jimmy was never a crazy drug-addicted divorcee who now works in some hero job for Oliver..
They've completely changed him into something else; but I suppose they didn't have a choice at this point.

No matter how bad they try to make Jimmy look, it just backfires on them. Jimmy was great and was one of the only decent things about the episode. This episode further supported my beliefs that Oliver must go. I'm tired of his hypocritical platitudes.
Clark was barely in the episode and didn't satisfy me the way he acted because he should have been vocal & yelled at Oliver that Davis can't be killed. If he doesn't know that by now, then he never will.
Jimmy has great instincts and this episode proved it. I'm glad he's seemingly cleaning up his life. But I'd rather see him as a freelance photographer working for the Daily Planet & the Metropolis Journal until he goes fully back to the DP.

I don't like the whole drugs thing and I think that Jimmy has been really acting like a jerk (even stealing from people) so I hope this dark side of Jimmy quickly disappears. I'm kind of getting tired of the producers demonizing everyone. Other then that I am glad to see Jimmy back in action and it will be interesting to see what happens with working with Oliver.

Jimmy was great in this episode. The writing for Jimmy and the performance were both pleasant surprises. This was really an ensemble episode and I expected Clark and Davis to dominate.

Other than in those scenes with Jimmy, I didn't like Oliver. Oliver seems to be a character who works well with everyone but Clark. And that's reason enough for me to want him gone from the show. I want Clark to throw him out of Metropolis, telling him that it's his city---which it is.

Ive always been a huge Jimmy fan, and tonight deepened that for me. Poor guy had his whole life turned upside down on his wedding night, no less. :( Thank goodness Oliver was there to help him out and get him back on the path to straighten out his life.

AA is a great actor and Jimmy is a solid character. I don't like the whole drug kick that the writers have given him and it's honestly become annoying but I am hoping that he does indeed decide to work with Oliver and take care of his drug problem. I also want him to return to the Daily Planet. Kind of silly that he would just randomly quit there.
Any issues I have with Jimmy is certainly not the actor's fault but rather the poor writing we are getting these days. It seems like the producers/writers want to give almost every character in the show a dark path and it's kind of disturbing.
Davis = Monster
Chloe = Monster Lover
Jimmy = Druggie, thief and needing anger management
Oliver = Murderer and has his own anger issues.
Tess = Lex 2.0
And then Clark is so good to shoes that he won't destroy Doomsday even with the body count racking up daily. Since when did Superman or even Smallville's Clark not deal with criminally insane monsters that are killing people on a daily basis?
I hope season nine will be better then the direction season eight has been. There are some great episodes this seasons and then there are some real stinkers that make me throw up a little in my mouth. It's bad enough that the budget doesn't allow for hardly any new sets or special effects but that doesn't mean the show has to suffer from lazy writing.
Anyways, back to the point. Jimmy is a great character and I want him back next season but I certainly hope they don't plan on keeping him on this dark path. I don't want every character becoming a murderer, thief or druggie. That just isn't Smallville!

Wow, Jimmy sure hasn't been in touch with his dorky photog side in a while, but I guess that's understandable. But I like how strong he is, and Oliver sensed that in him too. He's matured a lot.
I just hope he's done with the drugs :\

i would enjoy a star city portion of smallville. but it would just take away from the superman concept, i have a lot of old green arrow comics, and oliver isnt really the ideal team player, the only people he somewhat gets along with is dinah and hal jordan. so im not really suprised that him and clark arent best buds, their two supes who dont have the same morals

I only ever watched the cartoons and haven't picked up a comic in years. No wonder Batman always called Clark "Boyscout". Batman isn't on SV, so I guess GA will have to be the Scoutmaster for Clark. Atleast GA has nads. I also enjoyed seeing GA go off on Chloe on this epp. I mght even need to find a good GA avitar till Clark wises up.

This is why I think Clark is written like an idiot. Ollie is talking out of his dumb ass & Clark didn't call him on it. Clark *knows* that Doomsday can't be killed. I expected to have Clark say this:
Clark: Get it through your thick skull Oliver, Doomsday can't be killed!!! Anything that kills him will be something he will be invulnerable to the next time he's resurrected. Go back to Star City and play with your arrows because this is my problem. You can't do a damn thing about this.
Clark needs to be vocal. He needs to shut these fools up who continue to talk out of their ass. I was waiting for him to do the same thing to Tess in Eternal. Who the hell does she think she is waltzing in town, thinking she knows everything, when she knows nothing about the cave legend or anything Kryptonian for that matter.
Clark needs to open his mouth and show what idiots Ollie & Tess are. And the same with Chloe, because she came off as a major moron to me after tonight.

In all fairness on Ollie's behalf, in his mind he sees Clark has these God like powers and gets frustrated that he doesn't use them the way he would use them. He is human, just like all of us, and even on these boards we say things like if I were clark, if I had his powers I would do this, I would do that. The truth of the matter is, humans will never understand the complexity of being kryptonian. A good example of this would be in Leech, Sean Ashmore's character obtained super powers and did something heroic by saving Chloe's laptop from a mugger. Though he was heroic at first, he took a quick turn to bad, and over what, a girl? That's right. So in this world people who know Clark's secret will always wonder and ponder, if I had your powers this is how I would do it, and because of their frustration they will tell him things like, there is another way, kick his ass. The only way we can ensure he dies is if you kill him. What can kill a creature with god like powers, another person with God like abilities. Oliver knows damn well he wouldn't last two seconds against Doomsday so he can only sit idly by until Clark or someone just as powerful if not more does something about it.

I agree. But it doesn't mean Clark won't try to kill DD. It's part of the mythology. And they "kill" each other in the end.... I do like the idea of sending him to the PZ though, maybe that's how they'll get rid of him in season 9.

I don't think anyone knows Doomsday is completely invulnerable. I didn't think they ever knew he returned from death previously, yet Clark said this was the second time. Anyone would think there's way to do it and Clark is the one who could pull it off. Clark should understand that without somebody pointing it out to him.

Yep. And as much as it's annoying to see Oliver always acting out of frustration with Clark, the truth is that Oliver grew up a lot quicker than Clark with far more limitations and yet he's had to witness this superhuman initially be comforted in his own world on the farm. So you can appreciate the many reasons why they would not always see eye to eye. In some ways, Oliver has a big part in opening Clark's eyes, for good and bad to the Superman side of himself. For that, Oliver deserves credit for his presence alone.
Anyway, to keep it on topic, I don't see why people like this episode as the convinction of Jimmy's character. He pretty much was at the bottom of the barrel in terms of self-respect and it's thanks to other people around him (and his own natural talents) that he's been brought back from the brink. But him begging to be killed, when people get to that sorry state...it's never nice to see IMO.

Clark was told by Jor-El that he evolves with each death in Abyss. He already knew Davis was killed twice. He's seen Davis return and by now should know that whatever happens to Davis will not ever permanently kill him and should have made this point very vocal to Oliver & Chloe, because neither of them know what they're talking about.

Jimmy was always in my 'poor, misguided boy who falls for a main but isn't destined to get the girl' box. This episode, however, he's really grown into someone whose a player. Not in the date scene player, but a player in the Doomsday arc, someone with an axe to grind.
The fact that Oliver is disillusioned with Clark and furious with Chloe might lead to some interesting Jimmy & Oliver story lines- this is the man who 'killed' Lex Luthor, supposedly. I just hope he doesn't build Jimmy up, hand him a crystal and say 'go get him, bad boy.'

I agree to a certain extent that it's OOC for SV's version of Jimmy to have this serious, dark plot of being a drug addict. Hopefully though, that's all behind him!
I didn't like where that druggie plot was headed after Turbulence, but I have to say that AA has shined here lately w/ the serious, dark storyline he's been given!:)
My biggest hope is that we'll see our loveable Jimmy Olsen next season at the DP in action w/ Lois & Clark! I've gotta have my canon, power three of Clark, Lois, and Jimmy!;) I think he's safe!

Jimmy's best portrayal on this show was in Prey (especially that last scene with him, Clark and John Jones), Identity, and the Big 3 scene in Stiletto. I also loved his role in Turbulence, but hate how he became a drug addict & how his marriage & life were ruined.
I love how Jimmy is the most keen character in this show. He picks up things that nobody else does. It was awesome to see someone putting the pieces of Clark's secret together so quickly, yet understand why he kept it a secret (even though Clark denied it).

after "Identity" i was running around the boards (and i almost started a thread) screaming "Jimmy Olson is a genius!" He puts two and two together YEARS faster than anyone else on this show including the obsessed billionaires.
i would also argue that part of Jimbo's problem lately is that everyone including Clark and Chloe has been treating him like......well.....Jimmy from the comics and it pisses him off. (excuse the language) He has felt downright insulted and hurt, and betrayed because of it. Oliver is the first person this season to actually treat him like a grown man.
