In the episode "Chuck versus the Ring", as Bryce Larkin is dying he says, "Fulcrum doesn't matter, they're just one part of the ring".

That's an odd saying...

I suspect "The Ring" is an even more powerful spy organization pulling the strings, a spy network even more powerful than Fulcrum. I think the bad guys Chuck, Sarah, and Casey fought in the secret Intersect HQ were part of this organization, sent to retrieve it because of Fulcrum's failure in doing so. I also believe this is why Ted Roarke was assasinated, because he failed "The Ring".

those all seem to be fairly obvious and correct assumptions

Great ideas. I hadn't connected the name of the last episode: Chuck vs the Ring - to anything but the wedding rings. But you are totally right - it was "the ring" as in the bad spy people. Doah! I'm a little slow.

No doubt "the ring" will be the nemesis in season 3 and our Fulcrum days are over.
