The Chlark scenes were unbelievable!! I was crying so hard during the last scene!! I'm totally converted to the Chlavis ship right now (post-divorce, since I love Jimmy, but hey he's basically out of the picture--poor baby) but I still have a soft spot for Chlark. :o

I don't really understand if Chloe has any feelings for Davis. The message we kept on getting from EVERYONE but Davis was that Chloe does not love Davis. Jimmy said it. Oliver said it. Clark said it. And even Chloe said it. I know she cares for him, but love? Anyone have a different opinion on this?

And do you think that Chloe is doing this all for Clark? Like 100% or less or what? She kinda convinced me that's she's doing it all for Clark which is why I cried because she seemed trapped and in pain. :( But then poor Davis looked all happy, like finally thinking he may have a chance to overcome his curse.

Oh no, this is getting way too tragic for me. I don't want to be crying every episode but I have a feeling I will. And now I'm scared for the finale even more. :(:(:(

Me too, both Allison and Tom had me in tearing up. Sigh I'll love them forever! I love when Chloe said "Everything I've done good or bad, I did it for you" and Clark tells her he'll never stop looking for her. :D Seriously I was waiting for one of them to blurt out I love you! ;)

So what changed their relationship forever? That they are closer?

oh the Chlark scenes were EPIC. I'm starting to like that word again. Chloe felt so trapped, she knew that A. Davis would take Clark with him to the PZ and B. Even if Davis didn't take him that Clark would feel horrible for putting Davis there, so she did what she had to do and I love her even more for it. Sacrificing herself for Clark. That last scene was so powerful, I almost cried. Now sit there and tell me they don't have feelings for each other, please because I've been a Chlarker for 8 years and I always knew, but if anyone was new to Smallville and just watched this episode they would think, no scratch that, they would KNOW that they love each other wholeheartedly. It was painfully clear this entire episode.

I think Chloe's attracted to Davis on some level but when push comes to shove, I believe she's doing this for Clark, not Davis. In fact when Chloe and Clark were on the phone at the end, with the way she was acting I half expected her to tell Clark she still loved him. :P I don't think she's still in love with him, mind you, but that end scene convinced me that, for Chloe, this is about Clark not Davis.

I think it was supposed to be murky whether or not she was doing it all for Clark or for Davis too. And Clark even confronted her on that. But that look she gave right before she got into the car. She's scared to be with Davis. She's doing this for Clark. There's no doubt in my mind.

Yeah she looked really scared before she got in the car not to mention the tears. Chloe is 100% for Clark no doubt about it in my mind.

i have alot to say. I want to say the whole story with chloe. i feel chloe really does not want to be with davis as much as she wants to save clark. i see this in her dream she is kissing him and she sees blood on the floor and she stops. then she sees clark split in half. I felt if she did not wake up she would have left davis. Then in the end when she was going into davis's car she looked up in tha air like she did not want to do this. Chloe lies a lot but i do not think she is lieing about saving clark. They have so many years with each other that they can never forget. She even cried when she went off of the phone.

so how do i feel about chloe leaving with davis i think it is the most retarted thing. Also i think clark should take olivers advise and kill him. but the mystery of this show i think is what chloe is going to do next. One episode she is becoming watchtower and becoming something and putting her life back from the pieces that had fell. But now she had just shatered glass because she is moving from her life her home to save clark or mabe she is saving davis a person who will kill clark and the world.

So, when i saw that last scene i thought wow they really should have clips of chloe from the past to remember who she was. Oliver was right she had changed at least that is what would happen if she is doing this for davis but if she is doing this for clark then she is our chloe from season 5.

I also loved how she said i threw so many green rocks aways but did not truly save you. So, shouln't we of seen so many times she saved him and made a difference. All i wish for every episode is for chloe to make a difference in the world. So make chloe throw another green rock for clark and make her get away from davis. I want to see the past chloe more then anything because that is who we fell in love with short haired and reporter chloe. Not lier and killer chloe. When i see these davis scenes i think of the love she had for clark how can she forget. The letter in the episode of fever if she could go back would she do it again. Would she say i am in love with you and i am hiding as your best friend. Would she cry if something went wrong or would she run away. My opinion i think we have to wait and see because this can go any direction.

I was pretty much just waiting for Clark and Chloe to shout 'I love you!' into their phones! XD

That would have been a natural way to conclude the conversation but I'm not surprised that the writer had them stop just short of such declarations. I never doubted that Chloe was still in love with Clark. But Clark's feelings were so obvious in that last scene. Tom blew me away. Clark put on his brave face for Davis but he was jealous that Chloe could have romantic feelings for Davis.

The dialogue in the phone conversation was wonderful.

Oh, I agree. When he said I will never stop looking for you, and "you are wrong Chloe",
I nearly lost it. I rarely cry watching Smallville, but this was an exception. I am sure that Clark is in love with Chloe, he destroyed the filing cabinets for God's sake. Who else can make you that mad and scared than the person your in love with. And even if he isn't, I have no doubt he is falling.

Without the dialogue it the smashing of the cabinet could be interpreted as anger and frustration alone. But Clark revealed how he truly feels about the idea of Chloe and Davis having a romantic relationship. Labryinth and Bizarro showed us that Clark does not want a life without a Chloe. In Beast he outright admitted that is how he feels. That's huge IMO.

Yeah! I also found it interesting when he told Oliver that Chloe couldn't have feelings for him, even telling Chloe the same thing. I thought it looked like Oliver was about to comment on Clark's obvious passionate response about Chlavis. I guess nothing needed to be said on that particular area, his eyes said it all.

As great as the scene was I couldn't help but think of Lois. To me that scene was one of the most passionate Clark scenes ever but I kept thinking what happens to Lois? It's like Clark is in love with both of them!

I like the fact that Clark just automatically assumed Chloe didn't have any feelings for Davis because Chloe wouldn't do that to her 'friends' *coughclarkcough* ;)

Chlark was off the chain tonight. I feel like "Smallville" is back where commitment, loyalty, and courage define the HEROES. Chloe and Clark were both HEROES tonight. I know it's short lived but I'll live in my happy place for a week.

Actually Clark denied a Chlavis romance to Ollie. But he was afraid that it was true. That's why he confronted Chloe on the phone. Clark sounded like a jealous boyfriend.

I just noticed something else. When Clark is at Isis, he looks disappointed when Ollie walks in because he was hoping to see Chloe.

I think Chloe's attracted to Davis on some level but when push comes to shove, I believe she's doing this for Clark, not Davis.

I think she's attracted to the man she wishes he was and what might have been, but it's just not to be. I think the HOT makeout was a nice bone to hard core Chlavisers (and to me because.... HOT!).

In fact when Chloe and Clark were on the phone at the end, with the way she was acting I half expected her to tell Clark she still loved him. :P

I desperately wanted a call back to "it's always you!"

I don't think she's still in love with him, mind you, but that end scene convinced me that, for Chloe, this is about Clark not Davis.

I'm sorry. You're breaking up. I can't hear what you're saying here. *static, crackle*

Kidding... except not.

OH MY GOD!!!! All season, I was regretting ever being a Chlarker. It's a ship of PAIN. But now... I remember why. The richness and history and...

I am a puddle of goo after that phone moment.

I was so afraid they'd leave it up in the air, why she was doing this. But they didn't. They gave me confirmation of what I knew all along. She does care for Davis, but this is ALL about Clark. And Chlark!!!!

First genuine squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee since Traveller!!!!

Many fans interpreted the last Chlark scene as a friendship/frustration/confusion scene, where they claimed that there was no romantic overtones being ping-ponged back and forth. Well, here's my interpretation. This was THE moment where romantic!Chlark was oficially established. For Lord's sake, the Chlavis song from the beginning of the episode made it's way all the way to the end between the most EPIC 'ship in SV history. Done, that last scene blew me away, brought my undying faith for Clark to it's fruition.

My beautiful Custom Title is now with meaning.

Ditto. there isn't anything else possible. Clark can't hate Chloe, he said he wasn't going to stop 'till he found her. Their relationship can't wither, because she's keeping the Beast at bay for him, the same Beast that might as well eat him alive, and she proclaimed her undying loyalty to him like never before. Clark still trusts her, because if he hadn't then he would not have hoped it would be her walking through that door instead of Oliver. The faith is there, the friendship is there, the tears are all but ready to fall. All that's left is love. Chlark might actually take the front row seat, ladies and gentlemen.

I agree. Any other decent show, with some decent writing, and an audience would've known full ahead that Chlark is end game. Not just end game, but a relationship worth remembering. Alas, we have mythos to deal with, so ping pong relationships will forever be on Smallville.

LOL Me too!

I don't know it's like a natural reaction  there were two times when I was waiting for someting like that...ok three...

when Clark was leaving and Chloe stopped him a la Vessel and then said nothing.

I was hoping Ollie ask Clark if he was jealous or something

and finally the amazing phone call, when Clark repeats "you're wrong!" (reminded me "you're gonna forget me, you're gonna forget me!") and when Clark said she had feelings for DAvis, Chloe's "I'm doing this for you!!!" ("I have feelings for YOU!")

Might as well start a comic book series on them alone, see how 'mythos' deals with that. Pfft, like they haven't given each and every one of the 'iconics' new stories, new meanings, and new paths. Why not relationships? Why not end up with the one you can actually love, not the one who prefers someone else?

Thanks for the hint, which allowed me to join others in praising the episode, acting of the actors and lastly the character of Chloe, cos after this scene how can there be any doubt that she is doing it for Clark! And as for Olliver, well he is the last person who has any right to cast with stone from his glass tower, but I guess he has forgotten his murder of Lex, and everything else moraly questionable he did during his murky period!

I am starting to think that Chlark would be end game in any other show. But this is smallville and the iconosity get me sick

IA. Its all about ICONIC or MYTHOS. When it DOES not even make sense story wise or relationship wise.

I still have some hope for Chlark.

Ditto. there isn't anything else possible.

The love is not left... for me, is right there ;)

I feel the same. I wish this show's name were " Smalltown", the main character 's name were "John Scott" and the superhero were "Superalien" or whatever... That allow the producers made the things as right and perfect as we feel it...

The phone conversation scene between Chloe & Clark is EPIC. There is so much depth, love, & emotion to it. BEST scene this year.

The last Chlark scene had me in tears. My heart broke for both of them and Clark's reaction was just heartwrenching.

and finally the amazing phone call, when Clark repeats "you're wrong!" (reminded me "you're gonna forget me, you're gonna forget me!")

It reminded me of that too. Both times Chloe made a decision that would distance her from Clark in one way or another and Clark responded in a similar way, repeating his words, desperate to get through to her even while knowing how determined she was.

I like that his words were in response to him saying that she thought she needed to sacrifice herself in order for him to be able to save everyone. He told her that a sacrifice wasn't needed. Nice shout out Smallville! Nice!

I don't think he is in love with Chloe, but he does love her as his best friend as family, they've been together thru so much, he doesn't want to let her suffer to save him, but he had his doubts whether she had feelings for Davis or not, but Clark knows Davis will end up turning into a monster in the end, he is frustrated she didn't trust him more with the situation and he wants to save her as always

ITA! What I understood from that scene Dusti, is that Clark saying ... that how would he be able to face his battles without her by his side, when Chloe said that he was there not to save only her ... but everyone .. he said: and you think sacrificing yourself will help me do that ?..... that line was soooo sweeeeet ...

It also states that Chloe doesn´t need to die so Clark can be Superman ... no it only said that he needs her by his side...all the way throughtout his Journey .... :D

AHHHHHhhhhhh!!!!! :D I LOVED the Chlarkiness in this episode!

It was unbelievably awesome. With the whole Doomsday threat looming on the horizon, what was Clark most worried about and made it a point to specifically recruit someone for? Chloe's safety. And then when he shouted Chloe's name when he walked in the Talon, and then demanded to know where she was when he slammed Davis into that water heater, you could just tell how much she means to him.

I also thought it was awesome how Clark never stopped from defending Chloe's honor to everyone who was questioning her judgment and friendship. "The Chloe you're talking about doesn't exist." And he can say that, because he knows Chloe better than anyone, just like she knows him possibly better than he knows himself. Even after he knew he'd been lied to and that Chloe had been harboring Davis all that time, he still proclaimed her as a person who would do anything to give someone a second chance.

And to top it all off with that last, heartfelt, anguished scene? Absolutely awe-inspiring. "Everything I've done, right or wrong, I did for you..." And then the way she talked about finally having the chance to save him, and that "If there's one lesson I've learned from you, it's that choosing the greater good is never a sacrifice." And all Clark kept trying to do (you could tell through his words and expressions) was keep her with him, to hold on to what they've had, and convince her to return. It was truly beautiful.

YAY, CHLARK!!!

Tom Welling and Allison Mack were amazing in that last phone call scene. They both showed how much they long to be reunited. Allison is always really good at showing emotions, but Tom Welling did an even better job at showing how upset he is. He showed 3 or 4 emotions within seconds - relief, resentment/jealousy, pain and fear. It was amazing.
