View Full Version : Help me...what's the point of Kryptonite money?

I've watched it three times now and still don't understand why they are making money with Kryptonite ink or using Kryptonite for any reason. Can someone fill me in on this?

Glows in the dark? Easy to find in the movie theater?? :p

Actually, I think what they are inferring is that the K-ink makes the bogus notes undetectable from the real thing. Probably causes a mind whammy with the merchant being given the cash, eh?

So.....do you think Jimmy gave K-notes to the drug dealer? I think so....

They said they were able to get the right metallic tint by using the meteorite for some of the inks.

It's the Smallville theory of existence, adding a little vitamin K makes anything work.

Frankly I'm getting tired of the rediculous ways they have to insert kryptonite into so many episodes. It has always been a very rare substance in the mythos and the way they try to stress that kryptonite is located around every corner is beyond annoying. I'd be a lot more impressed if the writers could write episodes without having to inject Vitamin K like it was water.

They believe in going green. Recycle the Special K for next season.

I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the green K money Jimmy is passing out. Then there is the rest of the money that might be put into public use. It will probably effect Clark sometime in the future.

A spoon full of kryptonite helps the medicine go down.

LOL so if someone gives Clark a fake note made with Kryptonite ink he will go all weak and start writhing in pain?? Not that I like seeing Clark weak and powerless but hell that would be funny...

Yep, something like when Clark found the green K gum...LOL...If there is a will, there is a way to incorporate green K into the storyline.

They should have had Lana and her kryptonite suit go to Smallville and clean up the green K problem as her final goodbye.

I am not the biggest fan of L&C: TNAoS, but I will at least give them credit for making green K mean something

I know a lot of people think it's a crutch, but if you can accept the fact that it is what it is, circulating bogus green-K bills around Metropolis is a scary thing. Between Krypto bills and maybe some super-tech weapons, I think Bruno and Intergang have great potential for next season. I hope the bills have circulated around the city quite a bit.

Clark better find someone else to do his shopping for him. Every time someone opens their billfold Clark will be looking like he's going to hurl.

Past history leads me to think that the writers will completely forget about this thread in the future, it'll be like it never happened. They simply needed a reason for Clark to be indisposed so Lois could attempt a save and see him hurt again, this way she can't suspect Clark as the RBB, not when she keeps seeing him weak/bleeding/shot.

Well, they had to do something to get the Kryptonite to start showing up in Metropolis. All the meteors fell on Smallville and if Clark is going to be doing his saves there, his weakness needs to be there as well.

I actually thought it was a little creative even though I groaned when I saw the first scene with the explanation. I would rather they had waited for the use of it on Clark to a later episode. That would have been a little more intriguing. But yeah, those bills Jimmy gave to the drug dealer have to be K ones, otherwise there was no reason to include the scene in this episode.

I dunno if it's true, but I heard that they made a Superman comic book where something happened to us, and we get brainwashed into hating and wanting to kill Superman. I thought that it'd cool if TPTB made an episode like that where the ppl who know Clark/RBB accidently drink some Green K and they turn on him.

Of course there was Kryptonite in the money, in Smallville the stuff grows in the trees, doesn't it? Seems to figure it would grow in Metropolis too since they are so close together. Seriously, the Krypto money was literally no surprise.

It would be nice however if this stuff made some sense.

That's the problem with Superman's weakness being only Green K.

You want Clark to be helpless, bring on the Kryptonite no matter how ridiculous it's introduced into the plot.

Green K laden money.

But the logic still isn't there for me. They are printing money with Kryptonite so that they can neutralize the Blur? No one even knows that the Blur has problems with Kryptonite. Perhaps if Tess is behind it or Lex that might make sense.

They were not using Kryptonite because of the RBB. The K-ink made the counterfiet complete. It gave them the color they needed.

I think a lot of it has to do with complaints about Kryptonite that I have been reading for years.

A generalization about fans (hope no one is offended) I know a lot of people HATE the kryptocrutch.

" There is kryptonite everywhere on the streets! It's like criminals can pick it up on the corner for $20. Everybody has kryptonite!"

I love it! Now they realy can pick up some green-K on the corner.

To be fair with the writers, K-Money is something that Intergang would come up with.

I agree the green k money was just as stupid as last year green k stride gum. At least nobody said 'it's kryptonite free' in the episode,it's no wonder we haven't seen Pete this season. Because at the end of his guest role last spring he said that infront of Jimmy and Jimmy isn't even in on the secret. What's worst I bet Clark will be paranoid whenever he sees money wondering if it's made of kryptonite.

Well, after Kyptonite gum, i think Kryptonite money was the only thing they hadn't done. Kryptonite is the ultimate plot device for them.

Along with Lana and they couldn't even let her go without her dose of SuperK.

I for one would be very impressed if Clark gets weakened in the finale or something by Jimmy by accident, and realizes that he's got the counterfeit money that way. Actually, I don't know any other way Jimmy's theft would be found out, so that's going to be it, probably.

I don't mind the kryptonite money at all. One of the problems with Superman is that he's practically invincible and ordinary villains will be too easy to defeat if there is not something weakening him. Of course there are supervillains, like the meteor freaks or alien threats that are more difficult to fight, but if Intergang comes back next season, they would be too easily defeated by Clark. He just needs to blur into the scene, knock everyone down, tie them up and leave and there will be no drama in his heroics. But, if something weakens him, then it will be a more even fight. I hope they don't use it just to make Clark fall to his knees when he buys some donnas at the coffee shop, though it would be interesting to see him sick an entire day because there is k-money inside Lois' purse and him not realizing it.

He could keep suggesting to Lois that she go shopping.
