The "Facebook" lines that were used in stiletto? The lines referring to friend updates and statuses. I don't imagine Smallville characters using and checking FB, but thats just me.

Isn't facebook considered more "hip" than myspace these days? I don't use either anymore

It would have worked it if had only been mentioned once.

Yes. And facebook is more about close friends and family. Myspace is for everyone. And twitter isn't really about connecting but rather you just exposing your day to day thoughts to the world.

I don't know I thought it was cool. I could see the need for The Planet to have a page or a Twitter so that they would be able to post stories or interviews etc.

Facebook was started for college students and then they expanded it to anyone :\ but it did kind of erk me that it was mentioned. For some reason it just doesn't seem to fit on SV

Facebook is definitely the number one for ppl my age (and I'm 21) so I guess it just didnt seem too far fetched that they --who are also supposed to be around 21--use facebook. Im honestly not that much into it anymore, but I know a lot more ppl who use facebook regularly than the other two . Of course this is my personal experience.

Why not? For the most part the people in Smallville are normal people living normal lives outside of crime fighting. Why wouldn't they use Facebook? Almost everyone I know has a Facebook account. :p

I know I just don't see Smallville as a show that references that type of stuff for some reason. Its just Superman mythos and Facebook just don't mix to me. Or maybe it was just the situation in which she mentioned it. Wasn't Chloe tearing up when she said it? It just threw me off, usually shes doing her investigation thing when she mentions that type of thing. Or Im just thrown off tonight by my reaction to Supernatural so everything is out of wack for me

I loved that reference,it was uber cute. They also mentioned it in Abyss.I really love that Allison was the one who said it,since she has a real one and adds all her fans, which is cool.It didn't annoy me,I love Facebook. It definitely beats out Myspace, and Twitter is just so retarded.

Yea facebook is definitely not dated compared to myspace. And Twitter is annoying...isnt it just blogging with a fancy name?

I do see Chloe as someone who would facebook considering she is such a computer person and all, Lois..maybe, Clark on the other hand I really dont see as a facebook person...I mean, two lives are enough..lol

Yes and no. Imagine having your Facebook status sent to everyone who wanted it (usually through text messaging), and people updating it a million times a day. That's basically Twitter from what I have heard. Stephen Colbert illustrated it perfectly when he feigned updating his Facebook status on his show by having it say 'I'm updating my facebook status' and then his alleged Twitter status was 'I'm twittering about updating my Facebook status' lol

I don't think it was all that jarring to hear the Facebook reference. They were obviously just trying to be hip. And yes, Myspace is older than Facebook. But Myspace is more annoying (with any random band sending your friend requests) but Myspace is constantly now trying to be more like Facebook. And Facebook is getting more annoying, with stupid applications being added all the time.

In Action, Chloe said that Jimmy had a MySpace account. He moves around a lot obviously.

I hated it.

I always like to believe that they are above that.

Imagine Chloe interrupting her watchtower role, while Clark want's her to ring Ollie or something, to check her facebook account.

I don't think he would be impressed.

I was a bit shocked by the Facebook reference. The Smallville characters don't seem like people who would have them to me, particularly since we only see them talk to the same 5 people every week. Then again, I have Facebook friends who behave the same way, so who knows...

I found them rather funny. It's nice to hear such things in a sci-fi series once in a while. They create the illusion of reality which is quite cool.

It's funny how y'all say that y'all don't imagine the characters having a facebook account, because just about everyone where I'm from has one, myself included. And it always seems like every once in a while, someone else I know has just added one. Maybe it's a small town thing?

Billy Jor-El

It was a funny reference, though maybe one too many times (kind of as subtle as a mega close-up of the word "Tundra" on Clark's truck in a past ep). FB may have been started for high schoolers, but I was just reading where women over 50 are the newest, fastest growing group on it, so go figure...

Hey, maybe when the laptop was taken Clark could have just said, "....ah, just look for a new one on craigslist..."

I know a lot of you are going to have a field day with this. Let's be nice about it.

I hated Chloe's arc and that we didn't get a Doomsday shot out of it.

But the most annoying moment for me was the "Super" Lana mention. I mean seriously.... It made me cringe. I'd almost forgotten about those episodes and Chloe Sullivan has to bring it up.

I am glad that Clark hasn't talked about her at all though.

But seriously, what kind of friend mentions said friend's ex constantly knowing they had a bad break up. Does Clark go around mentioning Jimmy 24/7...? I don't think so....

That was the most annoying moment of last night's episode for me. What was yours?:)

I agree, the Super Lana mention was the only thing that really annoyed me in this! Actually, it was good that once again Clark wasn't dwelling on it! That saved it!

I didn't like the Lana mention eitherand I thought Clark reply to it was a little odd. Other than that, I think I liked everything but I'm sure once people start pointing things out I'll realise there are more.

Hahahahaha, the Twitter thing is hilarious! Twittering about updating facebook...ridiculous. And yea I do agree SV just used it to be cool or show that their characters are normal people just like everyone else.

I didn't enjoy the Lana reference. I mean, Lana is gone. Let's not bring her back.

I also REALLY didn't like that the producers or WHOEVER'S idea it was to have Lois as Stiletto try to convince Clark that she isn't Lois by putting on an English accent and saying really horrendous things like, "I'll go back to my cave now."

Really. I was embarrassed on Erica's behalf. I'm sorry she had to say those lines :-(

I didn't mind the Facebook reference. Most people I know use it to stay in contact. A lot of my friends moved away after uni and it's convenient and so common that it didn't really strike me as odd.

I was more bothered by Lois smashing through glass and coming away without a scratch on her. That was completely unrealistic.

On the facebook thing: Chloe had a myspace reference back in season 6 or 7. Again something about scrolling through Jimmy's myspace page. I tell ya, the girl seems to like to internet-stalk Jimmy. But when they're together, she can't give him the time of day?? Smells like a plothole to me. lol.

As for the most annoying parts, I would have to go with the random changing of Shelby's gender. That was a very WTF moment.

And the use of kryptonite yet again in a really silly way. I mean, kryptonite used in counterfeiting money? Seriously?

I hate how much kryptonite is used on the show. Honestly, I have never seen a Superman story use even 1/10th this much kryptonite and so it's just kind of silly to me.

They usually don't but Action was all about fandom, so it fit there. In Action, Chloe is kind of mildly cyber stalking Jimmy, and here in Stiletto she does again. This episode was constantly calling back to Action so it just seemed like part of that to me. The Bluretto site mention also was bringing up fanatical fans, like was done in Action.

Haha. Well Lois did have a cat named Leroy in the series. I wish she had one in the show. :( But yeah, now that I've watched the episode so many times a few things do stand out as being annoying, and the whole comment about Shelby is one of them. The facebook thing is another, even though I think it is a current comment to make it pulls me out of reality because this is a fictional show and even though that fiction is "realistic fiction" I don't see them actually doing much of what the normal world does.

The "Failbook" references were a little tedious. Just the casual mention of, "Oh darn, I should remove my ex-husband as a Facebook friend. Must have slipped my mind. ruh roh."
