Well, a few minutes ago on SV, a fan site called Bluretto appeared there. For some reason, it reminded me of this site, haha.

It's how we mash up characters. Clois, Chlark, Clex, Clana, etc etc

Ehhhh....People have been "Blurring" names for a while...but if the producers go to any site regularly, I'm sure it's this one.

No you're not the only one that thought that. That was the first think that came to mind when that scene came on! :)

yeah i thought this was a very k-site aimed epi. between bluretteo and the random reference to feeding shelby at least. and chloe's fans on facebook? i'm one of them

I definitely thought it was an intentional reference, not only to K-Site but fan forums in general as well. I loved Clark's comment about "what's on the minds of these people?" (or words to that effect).

It was funny, but I think they were referring to the way forum posters put names together to make one name, then make a fan site for a couple they want togehter, like Clois or Chimmy.

that stinks you have to wait but watch for that reference to K-site...I mean I thought of this site too when i saw that Bluretto reference..at first I thought they were making fun of the fans but then you see CK going on the site at work...much like me *lol*..

The first thought I had was "Why the heck haven't I seen that (bluretto) all over K-site?" It realy is quite clever.
I won't go so far as to say it was directed at this site specificaly but I'm psitive the fandom here can take our fair share of the credit for the scene being written. You in particular.
Kind of like Lana's message board print outs in "Action" but a little more fun IMO.

I forgot about that site! That also reminds me of K-Site! :p
Yeah my first thought was k-site and how we love to mesh the names to create different relationships.
Yeah I also remembered when they did that in Action,I loved that.

I loved it. I thought it was a nice touch, cause the whole time I was picturing Clois fans on that message board site mentioned. lol.

I don't really think this was mocking KryptonSite but they probably are mocking community discussions a little.

i thought that too seeing as how we always blur the names. its true it could be said for any 2 characters but to me they were calling on us LOL i felt special

That reference was hilarious! While I didn't think it was a shout-out specifically to K-site, I definitely think it was high five to all the forums out there, even a nod to the fan-fictions.

The "Bluretto" thing was obviously just a fun meta from the writers on SV shipping, and shipping forums. And I thought it was hysterical. I seriously laughed out loud during that whole thing. ;)

I definitely remember someone coming up with it before this episode, so I think its more than a coincidence that they bring up the nickname through a fan site. ;) That was one of my favorite moments out of the episode. It was so funny seeing Clark's reaction. Oh Bluretto....:D

04-23-2009, 10:16 PM
It was a blatant reference. I'd like to see a frame of the " site" versus Ksite. They are just trying to butter us up a little because of the whole Lana fiasco.

I definitely think it was a nod to shippers. LOL! I love when Smallville does that. The fan references in "Action" (Season 7) were a lot of fun.

There are other message boards out there. I seriously doubt it was in direct reference to Kryptonsite.

Exactly. I seem to remember the first meshing of names being Bennifer . For the longest time it really annoyed me to even seeing the meshing of names, because it reminded me of People magazine and Entertainment Tonight, and other pandering celebrity themed publications and shows. I only recently starting to using some of the terms for short hand. But in reality, at some level, it still annoys me. I guess that's why I don't like Twitter either lol

It wasn't necessarily a reference to K-Site, I took it as a general nod to shippers and fan forums. It was still pretty funny.

I think they might have been referring to K-Site. I thought it was funny. But what I didn't understand was that the Bluretto site, and even Lois, made the assumption that the RBB is lonely. When did the RBB give any indication of being alone or lonely? No one has interviewed him so where were they getting their information from?

i think they're just assuming since he doesnt give interviews or anything like that they just assume he leads a lonely life

Exactly. I didn't see anything in particular that stood out as pointing to this site. Though that would have been pretty cool.

I loved this part of the episode!!! LOL!!! Terrific, and it does compare to the K-Site in terms of people talking and speculating about a superhero!! Funny indeed!!
Loved the names too! I wonder who will register with the name Blur-Etto!
LovelyLoisLane
04-24-2009, 12:30 PM
How so? I've never seen that term before :)
Not that term no, but on fan sites like K-site fans always come up with these spiffy little name blends. Of course, you know that. :p
Blur-Etto made me think of Aqua-Lo from season five. :D
So I don't know about referencing K-site specifically but I did think it was a call out to fan sites in general and the shippers on them.
"Lonely Hearts of Metropolis, a Blur-Etto fan listing"
I can see it now. :p

I think it is because he doesn't talk to anybody, no one really knows anything about him, and he seems to be pretty busy saving people so it doesn't leave a lot of room for a social life.

She probably had to register a profile in order to view the forums. A lot of places are like that. Although she could always hack into it, but why bother if it is just to read message boards.

It was a total homage to sites like K-Site and also a nice little jab at the fans who solely watch TV shows for "shipping" and not the actual story imo. I loved it bcs obviously I'm a big supporter of this site who's been here for years and loves to interact with others whether I agree with them or not on various topics. And also I'm baffled at the folks that loathe Smallville and everything the story is about but watch it faithfully because they worship a certain actor/character. Nice touch writers!

I thought it was interesting that it was a site that was started up before anyone would really have any information on the pairing. Maybe a commentary about how little is needed.

So yeah, I totally thought it was a reference to here. Which actually made me smile.

I liked it too, it was so cute and nice to us, fans. And Chloe's commentary like "you know you have success when...". Definitively, it was a nod. And Shelby too. I remember when we saw him first in the season, someone said "ahhh, for once, they are listening to us" loool.
----- Added 40 Minutes later -----
I was looking for the other thing I consider like a nod to us : Clark almost shirtless in a scene with Chloe. I was like "OMG, they read us, we are always saying we don't see him anymore shirtless". It is done. THANKS A LOT:D
