Catalyst to why Clark will give Lois her 'big break'

Obviously we get the idea for the episode. Lois wants to make a name for herself. So with Clark seeing how much Lois wants to "move up," along with his feelings for her... is this the reason he chooses her to get the word out about "the red-blue blur &/or Superman?"

I think he did it because he felt bad that she was upset over being in a rut professionally.

I think he contacted her because he wanted to make her happy.

I think, ultimately, she will get the story because Clark knows she's a great reporter but more importantly, he trusts her.
