I won't vote, yet. :] The Funeral scene at the end of Crush is one of my favorite scenes, but I really liked Blank, Nemesis, and Quest. Oh, Memoria was really good too. All of the Episodes have some outstanding scenes.
Stiletto sounds like a fun episode, so we will see.

I can't decide!!!
I love several of those eps! I guess I'll have to go with "Memoria," although I also love "Blank," "Mercy," "Nemesis." "Quest" and "Crush" were pretty good too.
Also, two of the most beautiful moments ever were in ep19's.
Martha and Clark talking about Lara to Evanescence in "Memoria."
Clark and Lana looking at each other longingly at Whitney's dad's funeral in "Crush," to Eva Cassidy's cover of "Time After Time."
Wow-steep competition this week!

Now that Stiletto is over:
Blank
Mercy
Crush
Nemesis
Quest
Memoria
Precipice
Stiletto
Mercy and Crush were basically tied for second, and Stiletto is by far the worst of the 19 episodes.
The fact that I can't remember any of the rest of the episodes makes Stiletto the winner by default. lol. Seriously it's been way too long and unless the episode was incredibly memorable I won't remember it with a simple synopsis...

Am I the only one who hated mercy? I just felt to much like a saw rip off. I made a top 20 list of the worst episodes ever and Mercy was like #18 or #19 on it but looking at the list given, I forgot how bad Percipice was, that definantly was worse(I am pretty sure if I went over alot of the FOTW stories with a fine tooth comb I probably could find 8-10 worse then Mercy).
As for best episode Stiletto slightly over Memoria. I know alot of people think Memoria is like top 10 episodes ever but I didn't have that high reguard for it, although very entertaining never the less. Stiletto wins out though because I thought it was a good set up for Clois(assuming that endgame) and I enjoyed Bruno Mannheim

I loved Mercy as well. Easily the best episode of Season 5 IMO- great scenes with Lionel and Martha, Clark and Lex being forced to work together to find them, almost nonexistent shipper nonsense- if Blank wasn't a 19th episode as well, Mercy would have gotten my vote.

If you voted anything other than Memoria, you're wrong.
There's been a few times where these rankings have surprised me. In one episode "Lucy" beat out the Christopher Reeve episode, which is a crime, and now Stilletto is beating Memoria. This says a lot...
Memoria is hands down the best episode of the series. It is the most professional, talented writing; the acting is phenomenal, the story intense. It's one of the episodes that you could show to any casual viewer and they would be impressed, and think it is good television. Stilletto, while entertaining, would be guffawed at by most people. Memoria is infinitely superior, and is the absolute highlight of Smallville. The fact that Stilletto has twice the votes is blaspheme. Memoria is a piece of art, Stilletto fun pop culture...
I will state that the 19th episode spot is a pretty competitive one, one of the best lists of episodes (weird how that works). Memoria is my favorite, and Crush has my favorite scene in all of SV (of course, the funeral). Again, a scene that is actual art. The emotion conveyed with the music, the way the actors only had facial expressions to say a thousand things, the cinematography... It's such a great scene. Then all the others with the exception of quest, which was typical season 7 garbage, were all great.
1. Memoria. Hands down
2. Crush (for that scene)
3. Nemesis
4. Blank
5. Stilletto
5. (tie) Mercy
7. Precipice
8. Quest

I personally think this is a joke. Stiletto did nothing new for the overall story that they were getting at in this season. it just seemed to be an episode in which they poked fun, once again, at the superhero aspect of the characters lives. Its been done to death ion this show and really the fact that people enjoyed it makes me wonder about what they hope to see from this show. nemesis was great because it gave us an inside look at Lex and Clark's torn relationship and what they believed tore them apart, and it wasn't Lana like we thought. It was a culmination of things.
Nothing hits harder than Memoria. Nothing. The episode was simply done well and was probably the best episode the show had ever produced. Clark and Lex remembering their earliest memories showed you what ti was that pointed them down their destined paths. Everyone brought their A game in that episode, but Lex made you feel emotionally connected to him.
Stiletto had some decent scenes like the ending scenes with Chloe and Clark and Clark and Lois with the talk on the phone, but I still think this episode did nothing else for the overall story they are getting at in this season. It was a complete filler so they can hit their 22 for the season.

oh i agree. its like people vote for teh episodes now that has to do with girls in tight outfits and fighting even if it has nothing to do with the sheer quality of story.
Rosetta was yet another episode that was one of the series' best.
I just question what people want from the show. A joke? A good laugh? Last I checked, this wasn't a comedy hour show.
Fillers are fine, but this close to the finale is just abysmal. The writers should have learned from previous years to fix this, yet they don't. They continue to write episodes that don't push the plot forward.

This really is an absurdity. As was Hex beating Rosetta. Lois's mere presence does not make an episode great. Memoria and Rosetta are two of the series' best, but presentism is pervading these boards.

I like Memoria and it is my favorite out of this bunch, but I can understand if someone didn't like it. People could of just thought it was too dark or didn't focus enough on Clark or whatever. I for one liked the Luthor arc of the season and thought it was great, but just because people don't agree doesn't make it absurd. As much as I didn't like Stiletto, people could have just liked the Clois arc in it. That's the thing about Smallville, there's something for everybody.
As far as Rosetta is concerned, I'm probably one of the few people who don't consider that episode their favorite. It was a good episode and it had Christopher Reeve in it, but other than that I didn't really get much out of it. I already knew superman's origin, so I really didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. Plus I didn't really like the part at the end that made Clark look like he was going to conquer the Earth. Like I said good episode, just not top 10 material in my book. At least Hex had a mythology character, great Chlark as Clois scenes :), very humorous, and just an overall good episode.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's what makes Smallville fans so diverse and what's kept the show going on so long.

no offense but Hex, really didn't do justice to zatanna at all, and that episode was basically saying that there is only one lois lane seriously i already knew that i didnt need an episode dedicated to that. Memoria and rosetta will forever be the some of the greatest of the series, the intro of clark's origins was masterfully done, and memoria the flashbacks and the ending scenes with Lionel/Lex and Clark/Martha were beautifully done.

I guess, for one, I'm not counting 'story arcs.' Memoria does not have my favorite plot of any episode (I'd have to think about which one that might be... maybe Commencement...). But as an overall episode, as artwork, it stands tall above the rest. My point is people let their love of characters or of relationships blind them from what is acclaimed art and what they enjoy seeing.

Yup, no Stiletto. It was good yes, but doesn't top those three for me.
Technically, the show SHOULD be getting better, so newer episodes should beat the older ones ;)
Technically the key word there . Also it's the competition that you come up with. Episode 11 will always have a tough time beating Justice. Episode 17 will have a tough time beating Rosetta. Episode 20 won't have a hard task of beating Obscura, Witness, Talisman, Ageless, Fade, Noir and Arctic. That's luck for you !

I chose Blank. I found that ep was fun. And answered a lot of what if questions at the time. Plus the last scene with Chloe & Clark, is classic. Crush would be my second choice

Memoria. Hands down.
It revealed alot about the Luthor history and had the incredibly poignant scene with baby Kal-el.
Which of course was retconned by Apocalypse.

MEMORIA! that is favorite smallvill episode, especially the song at the end, My immortal by Evanescence. That episode was beautifully done, especially lionel and lex having their face off in the office and lionel had tears. No way is stilleto better than this episode.
It was a classic though i love the episode because of the time period i watched it in the summer and all the memories i had :)

Memoria is one of the best episodes of Smallville. IMO, it does not have any competiton from the rest of the episode 19 list.

Put anything up against Memoria and Memoria's going to win. Well, it would if I was the only one voting. Best Smallville episode eva!.

I thought Memoria is a very good episode but there is many more I would rate higher. It should be noted while I like Lex I am not a huge Lex fan(for my preference Lionel was 100 times more entertaining those first 3 seasons)

Some great 19th epis amongst that lot. As good as Stiletto was, I still lean towards a tie between Blank and Nemesis with Stiletto and Memoria tying for 2nd.

So many great episodes in this category. I love Memoria and Blank and Nemesis for the Clex interaction.
Crush was also really good as was Descent. This week was tough.

Memoria.
One word--Lara.
It was the first time Lara got a mention (far as I can remember) and that scene in the barn after Clark's treatment was just...perfection.

Blank/Mercy/Nemesis/Stiletto : honestly I don't know which is the best one for me. They have all many good things.
Memoria doesn't make me feel the way many people do, except for the last scene with Martha and what she says to Clark about her mother. As a Mom, I like this scene A LOT

It's difficult to assess the value of an episode that is part of a story arc, without also judging how good the whole arc was.
Memoria is a classic episode that stands alone, but Nemisis was the start of the Nemisis/Prototype/Phantom/Bizzaro story arc, which is one of the best arcs that the series has ever done, IMO.
Quest, on the other hand, was the episode that killed the Veritas story arc for me.

Season 5 -Mercy
Season 1 - Crush
Season 2 - Precipice
