Before I go into this, just want to say that season 5 has been kind of middle ground for me. I think there's some great episodes (Because You Left, The Lie, Jughead, 316, The Life And Death of Jeremy Benthem, LaFleur, and He's Our You have all been enjoyable for me) but there have been some duds in there as well. (The Little Prince & Namaste were filler imo) So far, I think it's on par with season 3. But has anyone else noticed that severe lack of screen time some characters are getting despite this season having a smaller cast then season 4?
Claire: The biggest one getting cut. We knew she would not be seen this season, but it still needs to be said that they have completly (besides metionng her by name and when Sawyer saw her giving birth with Kate) cut her out.
Rose & Bernard: They only appeared in the premire and have been gone ever since. They're not major characters, but we don't even know if they made it out alive
Desmond: He played a small part in the beginning of the season, but ever since 316, he's been MIA. That's a whopping 5 episodes and it doesn't look like he's coming back for awhile. Which is kind of funny since this season is all about time travel and besides Faraday, Desmond is the one character who has the most ties to time travel (The constant, anyone?) Also, am I the only one who sees the incredible potential Desmond had if he was in 1977? I mean he could meet Razinsky and I can just see the disapointment on his face if he went into Dharma and was assigned to go to the Swan, again.
Locke: Okay, I can let this slide a little since he was supposed to be dead. But, in the beginning of the season, Locke was alive and well. After episode 7, he's appeared once in 4 episodes. That might not seem like much, but Locke is also considered one of the series' main characters along with Jack/Kate/Sawyer who have been featured a lot this season.
Is the lack of screen time for some characters affecting how you view season 5 seeing as though we're more then halfway through the season?
