Well, you know, if it has Lois, to some, it has to be a filler. The non filler episodes are the ones about Davis and Chloe.

But I completely agree with you. An episode that has all those elements in a Superman show can never be described as a filler.

This episode was 100% percent filler.Besides Bruno Mannheim appearing as well as the nod to his nickname this episode did absolutely nothing for me except advance Lois and Clark's relationship and future dynamic with Superman.Which,I don't mind,but after Eternal I was expecting the next episode to pick up where we left off and segway into "Beast".Of course,Smallville is notorious at picking up the pace with it's story arcs and then abruptly dropping them in favor of fillers like "Forever","Noir".Especially when it gets closer to the season final.

Exactly. The fact that someone doesn't like the plot, doesn't make an episode a filler. I hated Abyss, Power and Requiem, and couldn't care less about Turbulence but I wouldn't call any of those 'fillers'. If an episode progresses the story, it is not a filler, no matter if you like it or not.

This episode had continuity, it dealt with Lois going after the RBB, Chloe's work as Watch Tower, Doomsday's arc and Chloe's involvement, Intergang... So, how can that be considered a filler?

Not "I don't care about the plot, therefore it's filler" logic of the last couple of years.Agreed, especially when this season is seemingly based on Clark and the road to becoming superman, anything that deters seems to be the filler. There's not one story/plot this season of doomsday. There's also the JLA, Tess, IJL, Lois and Clark in which it all ties. This wasn't a filler and showed Chloe aiding the murderous doomsday, litterally taking out his human trash, feeding him with a feast, in the same advance showing Jimmy in a seedy part of town possibly buying painkillers for his growing addiction. The post effect of the divorce. Then Clark/Lois since the early half of the season then a touch up in infamous and the post issues surrounding that etc. It isn't a filler, to some it may be, perhaps watching for a particular plot. But this episode covered them all.

I should have been more clearer then.I'm saying Smallville at times drops it's pacing and momentum by throwing us an episode that's smack dab in the middle of a certain story-arc by giving us the continuation or closure of another.After watching "Eternal" I was ready for the whole Doomsday 3-story arc and instead we get an episode that should have been after "Turbulence".Make no mistake I love the fact there moving forward with Clark and Lois and her infatuation building up towards Superman.But this episode felt forced right in the middle of the whol Doomsday scenario.

It's a question of episode order then. Not so much whether something is a filler or not.

Exactly. It seems like the filler label is being passed of for "I didn't like this episode." Two separate concepts.
