Wow the intersect gets removed sounds like this may be a series finale not just a season finale

Yes, I'm not sure how they could continue the show without the intersect. I assume that if they get renewed for a 3rd season that Chuck will voluntarily take back the intersect on his terms.

Yea, they are trying to do their best making this season finale make sense if it was the last episode of the series, but in probably going to happen chance Chuck gets renewed, he'll probably end of getting it back, like it was only temporary or something, or they'll go in different direction when he joins the CIA.

This is a huge spoiler!! My guess would be that there would come a scenario where, once it has been removed . . . Chuck must choose between the intersect being gone forever, or taking it back and saving his sister's life . . . where he gets it back to save her, and then the technology to remove it is destroyed, and Rourk dies or something, taking the know-how to his grave

I wonder when we'll get word on whether or not Chuck is being renewed

EDIT: however, after reading some interviews w/ the cast and Schwartz . . . it seems that if the show gets a season 3 it will be evolving into something totally new, something they planned from the beginning . . . so it looks as though the intersect might be gone forever . . . Chuck might become a real spy!

Chuck might become a real spy!

I don't know. I can't see that happening. What interest would the CIA have in Chuck if he had the intersect out of his head? He isn't really spy material.

If the show turns into "Chuck the goofy spy" I'm not sure I would keep watching.

What is compelling about Chuck is that it is the story of a man that is being forced to be a hero at the sacrifice of his own life, his love life and his family life and how he deals with that. If Chuck just chooses to become a spy - then I'm not sure what the entertainment value is in that.

I think Chuck would still be an asset to the Cia as a hacker code breaker type agent. But as this would be just him sitting in a room with a bunch of computer servers it would not work on the show.

Now that we have seen Chuck vs Dream Job this spoiler makes a lot more sense. Chuck's dad is working on building the Fulcrum Intersect. In episode 21 Sarah and Chuck go off on a rescue mission to find his father - so.... we can see the pieces falling into place.

I'm wondering in if the Colonel in episode 21 is actually Casey - perhaps he gets promoted?

I doubt it's Casey . . . I do hope the show gets a season 3 though!! Or that The WB picks it up if it doesn't . . . stupid NBC needs to renew this show already!

Another Spoiler!!!!!!

In the recent TV guide article on TV weddings they name Ellie as the one who finds out about Chuck's secret life as an agent.

I'm so happy about this! I think that will open up a lot of plot directions.

I thought it was supposed to be Awesome who finds out that Chuck is a secret agent.

I wouldn't be surprised if they both found out, even if at different times

An interesting spoiler. My guess would be that he has to make a choice to take back the intersect.

Either he takes back the intersect or absorbs the new one that the NSA/CIA are working on. Or he becomes a spy.

The finale looks to be very exciting...is Chuck coming back in the fall for a S3?

I saw an interview with Schwartz and he said that if Chuck doesn't get a season 3, then this will be one of the least satisfying series finales in the history of television . . . so they'd better get season 3!!

We should know in less than two weeks . . . but maybe, right after the end of next week's episode, they'll say the following

"Stay tuned in the fall to catch more episodes of Chuck!"

Man, god willing please...Season 3! But yeah it would be not satisfying if Chuck ends the way it does next week with a possible cliffhanger.

I just wonder how the finale will change the direction of the show...

I am thinking maybe Chuck will become a real agent?

^ That is what most of us are hoping for. That Chuck will voluntarily take on the Intersect and become a full fledged agent and parter for Sarah. We'll see. They've surprised me so far.

*nods* I just can't see him getting government help though... or them allowing him to be an agent.
