Sig size

Okay, I don't know who did it, so I can't PM the mod personally, so I'm posting here. I don't know what the deal is. My sig was not big at all, yet it was edited.

I'm not a computer whiz here, but 100 pixels is pretty dang small. So the image has to be that tiny? Or what? I must admitt, this is getting a tad ridiculous. I've already altered my sig twice and made it smaller. I'm getting rather fed up. :\ I'm already in a rotten mood from stuff in my personal life, and this pettiness just takes the cake really.

I know how you feel, Whitetiger4, but I think this restriction is a necessary evil; it helps keeps the boards from becoming really unwieldy. I mean, if there were no criteria about signature size, people could conceivably use huge images that would slow down load times and creat visual havoc (I know most people wouldn't do that, but some might). At first I was ticked about having to replace my long-standing sig image, but I like the new one I made to replace it even better. I'm sure you'll eventually be able to work this out to your satisfaction. :)

I understand there needing to be a size limit. I even agree, but I'm saying 100 pixels is very small. It leaves no room for an image (that can be big enough to see) and text.

Well, I have seen some people with the requisite 100 x 500 px graphic in addition to a few lines of text. Maybe you could contact a mod directly to ask about this.

Well, I'm really not good with making pics so I don't know if I can even resize the pic I had in my sig. I tried to and it didn't work right. It's 510x156 I tried to set it to 500 wide and it set the height at 153. I tried the height at 100 and it set the width at 357. So I dunno what to do.

Well, that isn't big enough to have anything decent. :\

got it. will go home and see what i can do. still a possibility you might have to cut out some text. and the smilies tend to take up more space then the text next to it.

Well, Disco tried, but it had to be so small you couldn't read it even if I didn't have any text. So, I'm just not gonna have a sig anymore. :(
