Good Looking Guys = Chloe's Kryptonite

First the icicle dude, then the telekinetic guy, then the clones, and now Davis. She's the smartest girl on the planet... unless a nice looking guy shows her any attention at all, and then she becomes incredibly dense.

I thought she had outgrown this foible, but it turns out it has just been 6 years since a good looking guy has shown interest in her. I don't count Jimmy because I don't think Chloe was every truly flattered by his attention; being that he is such a huge dork and all.

I can't help but think that her relationship with Clark exacerbates this character flaw. Being repeatedly rejected by her dream guy makes her much more vulnerable to the manipulation. In every case, her naive trust in the handsome guy has been preceded by Clark letting her down in some way. In Eternal, she tells Clark that Davis "is a strong shoulder for her to lean on, which if you hadn't noticed, I could really use right now"... or something to that effect.

yep, of course it is true, not an uncommon trait. but people get angry when women are portrayed realistically like that. flawed, maybe, but an honest character trait.

I think its going to wind up being her fatal flaw. She's telling herself that she's doing this for Clark, and I'm sure that to some extent that is true. Nonetheless, if Davis was ugly I don't think she would have locked that door. And the more time she spends around him, the more her loyalties will switch from Clark to Davis. Eventually, she'll pull a Judas.

I honestly dont think its the same sort of thing she had going on when she was in high school.

Back then....she was in love with her best friend, and couldnt get him to look in her direction. So when guys paid attention to her...it was flattering. All girls feel that way....just the way we are I guess. Attention is always appreciated.

BUT, now....I dont think thats the case. She doesnt have feelings for Davis because he's hot....she loves who he is. If he was just hot, and had no personality...and was the "big bad" I'm sure she would have nothing to do with him.

I honestly dont know why everyones making a big deal about her locking the door. I dont think it was so she and Davis could have wild monkey sex.....she did it to keep the world safe.

So yes....hot men may be her weakness, but I think thats just because she's spent a good portion of her life trying to get one guy to look her way....so of course its flattering when someone pays attention to her. But unlike her childhood years...I dont think she lets it consume her anymore. Like you said, she IS smarter then that,
