If Lionel found Clark and the kents found Davis thier lives would have been diffrent. Clark would porbably be a bad guy and Davis would probably be good. Never knew that Davis and Lex met.

I honestly didn't get this, wouldn't Davis still hulk up if the Kents found him?

Davis still would have been Doomsday and Clark still would have been Superman. I think its just Clark being a BDA

Yeah clark is jor-els son. I dont know if clark would have been a superman for evil if the luthers got him first but davis would have still been a killer.

It'd be bad tho, Davis would still been a killer and Clark be an evil godson of Lionel's.

That is so not true...

Good/Evil is not in the genes.

I think if Davis lived with Kents his life would so different. But both lives he still is trying to fight being a killer as much as he can. I loved both Clark and Davis in this ep. I totally am happy that they both have fought heir destinies when they thought it was bad. Clark thouhgt he was destined to conquoer before. And I hate all of this destiny garbage I'm glad Clark hates it too. Not the saving people part but the being destined to kill Davis part. Go Clark for fighting it!!!! I like Clark again.

And even though Davis seemed doomed it seems to be that if he had people around him who cared about him it would tame the beast. So if the Kents found him, he might have stood a chance.

And if Clark didn't have family he would have prob been a really bad super human guy, but who knows maybe not Davis didn't have parents or anything and still tried to be a good guy.

I dont think the boys could have ever switched positions. Its like Davis said....Clark was destined to be the hero.

there's no way clark could've been bad in any way! A good person is good by nature, even if he goes through rough stuff that person will still be good. A bad person (like serial killers) they're born w/ that evil within. IMHO

No. No one is born evil, even beings created to destroy. If Superman teaches the world one lesson, it's that people, no matter where they are from, are basically good.

My hypothesis is that, were the Kents to take Davis in, while Lionel found Kal-El, well...

If Clark and Davis had "actually" switched places, I think Davis would live a great life with the Kents, and would be able to suppress the beast through the love of the Kent family. If it works with the girl he loves, why not with a family? The beast is nothing more than Davis' desire to kill, and while it may be genetically programmed in him, it's no different than Clark's psyche. As demonstrated in "Bizarro," Clark appreciates the power of hatred. Clark could be Bizarro if he wanted to. But the Kents raised him right, and instilled within him a strong set of morals that make Kal-El Superman.

If, however, the things that had happened to Davis had happened to Clark, I'm sure Clark would be every bit the threat Zod, Bizarro, and Zor-El were. Kal-El wasn't born a Superman; without the guidance of the Kents, Kal-El would be a drastically different man. That's why Jor-El sent Kal-El to the Kents in the first place: he knew the Kents were good people who would set an example for Kal-El.

Now. If Lionel had found Kal-El, what actually would have happened is that he would discover he found the Traveler on his first try, and would probably lock him up and in his zealousness try to "force" Kal-El to fulfill his Traveler destiny, which would probably fail with a father figure like Lionel. (Davis would still grow up with the Kents, like I said in an earlier paragraph.)

I personally reject the idea of fatalism, the idea of predestination, basically. I think Davis could have been a wonderful person like Clark, and Kal-El could conversely have been a murderous villain. Sure, the show really emphasizes destiny and such, but ultimately, destiny is something to be achieved, not received. Clark needs to try before he can become a savior, and Davis needs to allow the beast to take over before he can become a destroyer. However, Clark does not need to try to do good. Davis does not need to give in. They simply do.

Of course, if Clark and Davis are not subject to free will, then this entire thread is pointless, as that would mean there would be no possible way for the Kents to have adopted Davis. But the possibility that they could have adopted Davis is there. And I think it makes Davis that much more sympathetic.
