Now Sylar can be anybody, Just think he could turn into Nathan, Noah, Peter, Claire and even Ando. Just Imaging Hiro joking around with who he think is Ando only to see Ando use TK. He'll be like how you get to have more then one abillity. Sylar like i'm about to have yours. He's the man right now.

It's so freakishly good!! Like I'm so loving Sylar right now, he's so ability thirsty! I'm interested to see how the writers will play this out because he just keeps getting more powerful so I'm wondering when he finally crosses paths with Pete, Nate, and all the usuals who are against him, how are they gonna defend themselves? I know it won't be an easy win for Sylar, and he might not even get a chance to kill any of them like he's planning, but at the same time how can they stand a chance?

Shapeshifting is a pretty serious ability. Although I have a feeling that Noah will figure it out eventually. From what I gathered, you have to at least touch someone in order to shapeshift into them. The writers could VERY easily ground this by not allowing Sylar to retain all those whom he has touched, but rather it would operate on a "next-touched" basis. I actually really liked the character of Sylar this season up until this episode. I guess I keep hoping he'll become a team player, but that hope was really knocked out of the ball park after tonight.

I used to want Sylar to switch sides too, but then I just accepted that it just wasn't gonna with him and just started enjoying his character.

Actually, the shape shifter touched the janitor after shaking hands with Danko, and still was able to "change into" Danko at the night club. So perhaps it is something that can be stored temporarily or something.

Yeah it's just so weird because he isn't quite a hero, but he isn't exactly a villain either. He has kinda become the new master manipulator. He always said that Noah made him who he is.

Oh, he's definitely not a hero by any stretch of the imagination. He also blamed Chandra Suresh for being the way he is. In reality it's his hunger that makes him the way he is.

He wants to make daddy happy or in other words live up to him... child-dad issues.

well, I don't think that's the issue. I think it's more like he wants some kind of challenge in life besides easy prey.

So is the "Hiro" Ando blasts with his red Hadou-Ken actually Sylar playing as Hiro?

Personally, I think this is a ridiculous chain of events. I could stomach Sylar when he was a lone maniac wanting to acquire powers. You could count on him to pop up when he was least needed and cause the most trouble. Now he's calculating and cooperating with the Hunter? And has the scary shape shifting powers that he had in the future that allowed him to become president? Can we just decapitate him already?

it's interesting that they gave Sylar this ability. In Season 1, he had a shapeshifting ability five years in the future, but that one was from Candice. Now they gave him that ability in a different way, but do you think the writers are headed in the same direction where he will take over Nathan's identity?

Can we just decapitate him already?
Right after we give him an atomic wedgie. I'd be glad to be the one with the axe. It would be my gift to Noah.

Can Sylar teleport? Cause he just vanished from Danko's car and then appeared on top of that building. I guess he could have powers we didn't see him acquire. That's kind of a big one though.

I guess he obtained that teleport power then!
And ah, Sylar looks like he's in pain when he shapeshifting faces, I wonder why.

Don't know how he did it. He also was able to get in and out of Danko's apartment once or twice while Danko was there. Even hung up a fat man without Danko hearing him.

Sylar is the best character on the show.
I think Sylar used a illusion ability when he was in Danko's car and never left the rooftop. When the scene cut from the car to the roof Sylar was making a face like he was concentrating very hard.

Hey, Targis. Good to see ya.
I find myself disgusted with Sylar. Perhaps it may have something to do with rooting for the good guys and booing the bad guys. But that's just me, I guess.
While I'm not sure he used an illusion, teleported, or what, I'm still wondering how he got in and out of Danko's apartment without the hunter hearing him.

Did you hear Sylar whistle when he was in the car?
I thought he was trying to use Samson's power for a second there.

Wonder what other powers the writers will give Sylar through his partnership with Danko.

I thought it was more along the lines of comic relief. He did a few things while in the back seat that were humorous.

i have a feeling that there was something big planned for sylar right before the original writer left that involved shape shifting. whether that was him becoming president or not who knows. but when the new writers came in they changed the storylines and went in their own directions. with the original writer back it seems things are headed back to what it was supposed to be.
sylar shapeshifting deals with him coming into contact with others. the shapeshifting is probably painful cuz not only his outside appearance is changing but so is everything on the inside. skeleton and and all that.

Danko dosen't really care about anyone not people with powers or people without powers. The shapeshifter kills a couple of his soldjers and Danko gives a speech about not letting their deaths go unanswered. Then Danko makes a aliance with Sylar who has killed way more soldjers than the shapeshifter.
If Danko really wanted justice for his fallen soldjers he wouldn't have helped Sylar fake his death. Actually that could have been the fake-out death that everyone has been talking about.

sylar is now officially unstoppable. he could creep up on anyone. the only person with a remote chance of stopping him is the haitian and even then he would have to keep his guard up 100% of the time.
The writers better balance this out soon because even though Sylar is a great character it almost makes the other sub plots pointless as most people would only be interested in his story. Its like no matter what they do sylar will eventually catch up with them a take their ability.
So either Peter gets his mojo back or heros should change its name to Sylar.

Mojo hahhaa. He will it seems like it because this episode when he was Praying in the church was a crucial scene. I like that scene alot it showed what he was really feeling and expressing it out saying like we made a deal. "The deal was that he would help save the world with his super duper strong power, while God suppose to make everything okay in the end" It didn't happened like he planned but actually the oppoosite, Peter got weaker and now he can't help anyone and the situation on Earth is terrible. He asked if God could show up which could forshadow in him being able to get his main ability back to save the world once again. I have a feeling that his aunt of his (whom Angela was refering to her sister) is going to help Peter. I doubt he'll go to a baby(Baby Parkman) to restore his power. But I know how u feel Sylar is practically invincible right now especially when he has some form of teleportation.

this reminds me when he shaped shifter in 5 years later episode in season 1 that is how he gets that power!

Eh that future is changed by a whole lot but there are some certain things that correlates. First of in season 1 that illusion power was from Canidce when he changed the illusion to be President Nathan Pretrelli. Now he's using shape shifting and not illusion to become someone else. There are a lot of things that changed and perhaps their attitude on certain things too. Like in one alternate future Sylar was a goodie boy but he's still badasss now so it depends on how one big event can be altered and seeing how that results were changed they call this the butterfly effect.

When Danko shot the shapeshifter at the club (that was disguised as Sylar), how in the world did the shapeshifter change into Sylar without touching him?
Blades

Unless he bumped into him, it implys that he can shapeshift into anything.. Meaning, use his mind to emulate what he sees (as in, humans.. like drawing a portrait).. This would mean that he'd be able to selectively alter areas to shift.. Otherwise, you'd have a blank template for the areas that you don't see..
If this ability requires touch and therefore replicates person 100% down to the bone structure then...
Why Sylar chose to be a chick is beyond me.. The bits and pieces would involve getting the male bits and pieces ripped apart at the seam.... Ahem. seam is not plural for a reason. I'll stop. For this (and other) reasons.. this ability is a downgrade of Candice's. It's also harder to write/explain... what would happen if Sylar chose to shift into a 'little person'.... scariness, yep..

..
If the ability copies the target person like that wouldn't the shapeshifter take on the target persons abilities also?
Well obviously the abilities don't transfer or the shapeshifter wouldn't have been hurt when he was shot by Danko.
But it seems to me that the powers should have transfered since the shapshifter physicaly became Sylar and when the shapeshifter changes they change all the way down to the bone structure.

I just think that the shapeshifter takes on the target's appearance only. He's still the same person internally and ability-wise.

I thought that he could change only for male person and not both. That was odd.

Internally? As in.. physically? No.. Even the target's brain would have to grow.. Suppose a person with a smaller or larger skull was replicated.. You'd then end up with a brain sliding around in an oversized skull or intense cranial pressure.. The idea of this ability is prone to a couple holes when put under a microscope.. suppose it was replication at the cellular level for the goal of perfect replication.... To name just one scenario.. replicating someone who has a malignant tumor.. probably not a problem for Sylar.
It is a pretty silly ability. Then again, so was Candice.
