RYAN
One of the best of the Season and somehow tops Season One's Stray... the ending is heartbreaking! 9/10
Dichotic
Sucked! Those guys, or I should say guy, who could split in two were really lame! one of the worst of the season! 3/10
Skinwalker
Introduction of the Ki-watche caves! and lady who can turn into a wolf! 7/10
Visage
Whitney is finally declared dead but Lisa Greer appears and stops this from being a great episode! 5/10
INSURGENCE
Lex wants revenge on lionel for bugging his office! So he gets help to rob a valuable artifact from Lionel, problem is that Lionel and Martha are there too and Clark (via a leap of the Daily Planet) needs to rescue them before it's too late! 8/10

CALLING

EXODUS
Clark causes the death on Martha's baby, Lex goes crashing! BEST SEASON FINALE EVER! 9/10
So, the final scores are...
1x 10/10
2x 9/10
6x 8/10
3x 7/10
4x 6/10
2x 5/10
2x 4/10
3x 3/10
Average= 6/10
Or above average
Although, not as good as Season One as far as overall quality of episodes, I feel the great episodes of Season Two outdo the great episodes of the first season.
Again the mains (Clark, Lana (YES LANA), Lex, Lionel, Jonathan, Martha, Pete, and Chloe) are great as well are additional members Doctor Brice and Lana's Father (Damn I forgot his name).
It also includes some of Smallville's greatest episodes from Rosetta (Perhaps the best the show has to offer) Ryan and the Season Finale Exodus!
FINAL GRADE- B

Ooh, I like these kinds of threads. I wish more people would post their replies, so I'll be the first.
VORTEX
Tornado aftermath, and lots of resolution of plot lines; Roger Nixon and the Chlark romance both go bye-bye. SGuthrie not happy, but still, a pretty cool episode. 8/10
HEAT
Heat vision comes from... what?! Yuck. Not cool. (LOL, but it is called "Heat.") 2/10
DUPLICITY
Pete learns Clark's secret. Too bad they hardly do anything remotely interesting with his character after this episode. 7/10
RED
Clark gets high on red kryptonite for the first time and runs WILD! Erm... okay. 7/10
NOCTURNE
A basement-dwelling shackled poet likes Lana and goes all Hulky in the sunlight. Who cares? 4/10
REDUX
Like "Craving," but without Amy Adams or the deer. Ridiculous, pointless, and lifeless as Chrissy Parker's victims. 1/10
LINEAGE
Clark's mother returns! But not really. It's Lucas Luthor's crazy mommy. It's not half-bad, to be honest. 8/10
RYAN
Ryan James returns in one of the most heart-breaking episodes ever, but I've rewatched it a kazillion times. Awesome! I miss Ryan still, 6 seasons later. 10/10
DICHOTIC
Clark tries to warn Lana and Chloe that a guy that can split himself into two is two-timing them both after he kills his shop teacher, and they act all rude and stuff to him, and then give him a lecture afterwards. At least Clark stands up for himself. 3/10
SKINWALKER
Clark discovers the Kawatche caves and meets the mysterious Kyla Willowbrook who turns into a wolf and attacks his mom and Lionel Luthor! Whoa. 6/10
VISAGE
Tina Greer's back, still obsessed with Lana, and posing as Whitney Fordman. Eww. 4/10
INSURGENCE
I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!! These creep criminals are bugging Lionel's office for Lex, but then they get greedy, hold Lex and Martha hostage, and Clark has to make his first truly super-leap to save the day. And is Lionel still truly blind??? Coolness. 10/10
SUSPECT
I think this is an underrated episode. I liked the noirish feel of the flashbacks, and how you weren't really sure who the villain was until the very end (even though that answer came WAY out of left field). 7/10
RUSH
Red K + Alien Parasite = Clark, Chloe, AND Pete gone wild! Crazy Chlark frolicking and romance, Lana getting weepy over it, and gorge-jumping car scenes. It was okay. 6/10
PRODIGAL
Lucas Luthor visits town and is never heard from again -- one of the worst, lamest plot holes in Smallville history, but I liked the character. 7/10
FEVER
Just for the Chloe letter alone, this gets a pretty high score for me, but Lana was a jerk to pull that move at the end of the episode. And it was nice to see how much Jonathan was willing to do to save his family. 9/10
ROSETTA
This was an episode that did more to move Clark forward in his heroic destiny than any episode since the "Pilot." With Christopher Reeve's scenes as Dr. Virgil Swann, this was an episode for the record books. 10/10
VISITOR
Cyrus Krupp's an alien from Krypton! Oh, wait... he isn't... and now he's in a catatonic state he may not recover from. Huh? 4/10
PRECIPICE
Helen's jealous, crazy, stalkerish ex-boyfriend comes to town to beat her up and send Lex on a quest for VENGEANCE! Fair episode. 5/10
WITNESS
Clark and Chloe fight a lot, another old Home Improvement kid inhales Kryptonite and gets strong, and Clark's clothes all get burnt off in a furnace. I kid you not. Not the best episode. 4/10
ACCELERATE
Creepy ghost-girl (actually clone-girl) Emily Dinsmore haunts Lana and tries to drown her in the river, and then gets a bunny from even creepier Lionel. Eek! 7/10
CALLING
Clark's father has a message for him -- but first he has to deal with Dr. Walden, who gets powers but then gets barbecued. Toasted! Speaking of toasts, Clark also gives a speech at Lex's rehearsal dinner. YAY for Dr. Helen Bryce (at least until next episode). And Chloe tells Lionel to take his job offer "and shove it down (his) thousand dollar pants." (For at least five seconds, huh, Chloe?) And a Clana kiss! Pretty good stuff. 9/10
EXODUS
Clark blows up the spaceship, Martha loses the baby, Chloe makes a deal with the devil, Lex's wife dumps him in the ocean, and Clark leaves Lana in a puddle of her own tears, riding off on a motorcycle to Metropolis. Nice finale. 10/10
4x 10/10
2x 9/10

5x 7/10

Average= 6.34/10
Above average, by a smidge
Pretty good season, really. I thought the overall quality was BETTER than Season 1, with a little less filler, and less Freaks of the Week, thank goodness.
All the main characters were, indeed, awesome, and each one saw their fair share of development, including some great Clana romance (before it got turned into a boring repeatedly rehashed roller coaster), Chloe's delving into darkness with Lionel by the end of the season after Clark repeatedly spurned her, Pete's learning Clark's secret, and much more. Dr. Helen Bryce was one of my favorite recurring characters, and yes, Ryan James' return made me VERY happy. Oh, and Lana's father was Dr. Henry Small, and he was cool, too.
My favorite episodes this season were Ryan, Rosetta, Exodus, Insurgence, Fever, and Calling.
Final Grade = B

season 2 is when the series started to pick up into the mythology, the kawatche caves were introduce, dr. virgil swann was played by the late great christopher reeves, and the MB at his best. I loved the episodes vortex, red, heat, duplicity, insurgence, skinwalker, rosetta(greatest episode ever), and exodus. The greatest season of smallville imho.

Calling 10/10. Clark recieves a birthday cake from Lana- and a kiss. Dr. Walden awakes and is on a mission. Lex & Helen's rehersal dinner is underway- and Clark gives the best man speech. Oh and Superman theme is played.
Exodus 10/10. Lex & Helen gets married. Martha has a miscarrige. Clark blows the spaceship up, and some of the farm. Chloe now works with Lionel against Clark. Clark leaves for Metropolis on red-k blaming himself for the miscarrige.
I score this season 7/10

I thought S2 was a pretty decent season myself. Not as good as S3 or S1, but still a pretty good season overall.
Vortex - One of my favorite episodes. Really underrated. The tornado save, Clark saying he felt like he was flying, the scenes with Nixon and Johnathan, Lex killing Nixon, etc.. Overall really solid episode. Two things bugs me though. First of all, I HATE the scene with Chloe and Clark during the search. It was Chloe's idea to be friends, and then she gets upset at Clark when he agrees. He was obviously just doing what he felt she wanted. I know she wanted him to see through it, but Clark is a bit dense. Chloe should have just been honest. One of the few times where I really disliked Chloe. Secondly, when everyone shows up at the end, no one wonders how the trailer got flipped over. Pete should have at least asked how the trailer got flipped.
Heat - I really like this episode. I know some people don't care for it. However, I thought it was an interesting twist on how they introduced heat vision. Plus, Kirsta Allen had to be one of the hottest if not the hottest guest star on the show. One of the best Clark/Johnathan moments is in this episode with the heat vision training set to "Little Less Conversation" by Elvis. Plus, I laugh every time I hear Clark say "Great, I am maturing into a firestarter?"
Duplicity - A solid episode. It was good that Pete finally discovered the truth, and the basketball scene with the super dunk at the end was awesome. Really like the scene where Clark says "That is my dad's way of saying welcome to the family". It was also good to see Hamilton come back. An interesting connection (not meant to come off as a racist one) is that both black characters- Earl Jenkins from Jitters and Dr. Hamilton both suffered the same condition when being exposed to the meteors. It makes you wonder why they didn't get powers like everyone else who was exposed to Kryptonite. My only real gripe with this episode is that Dr. Hamilton was able to steal the ship. There is no way a man that only has use of one arm, could lift that thing all by himself with no help.
Red - One of the few Red K episodes I actually like. I liked how they handled it showing Clark get progressively worse over the course of the episode. Plus, this episode probably has the BEST commentary track out of any of the DVD sets that have been released with Tom, Michael, Kristin, etc.. I laugh every time I listen to it.
Nocturne - One of the worst episodes of the season. Its main purpose was to show Clark's jealousy and his dislike for poetry. Terrible.
Redux - Another stinker. Probably one of the worst plots they have ever come up with. An age sucking cheerleader? It did have a few scenes I liked though. The save in the pool with Clark super-speeding under water, and him saying that he thought he might be in college studying journalism in five years. It is a shame they had him drop out. Also, I really liked Principal Reynolds. It was shame they never showed him again.
Lineage - Outstanding episode. One of the better ones of the season. It was great to see them expand on scenes from the Pilot, and to reveal that Johnathan is the one responsible for the Luthors being in Smallville. My only gripes are - they went overboard on the Chlark angst, and it is a bit slow paced at times.
Ryan - I personally like Stray better myself. Still though a very emotional episode and I really liked the choice of song at the end "Angels and Devils" by Dishwala. Fit perfectly. I also liked Lex's line "The road to darkness is a journey, not a lightswitch". Great super-speed scene at the end with Clark racing to find the doctor too.
Dichotic - Just terrible. I hate this episode with a passion. First of all, I can't stand Johnathan Taylor Thomas, and the fact that we had to see two of him, made it all that much worse. Plus, I really didn't like either Chloe or Lana in this episode. Are both of them so desperate to be liked by somebody that they just throw all reason out the window? Even after they discover the truth, they still blame Clark "And we expected more from you". Just crap.. A few cool scenes though like the "S" being held up to Clark's chest in woodshop and the Chlark bridge save.
Skinwalker - I really like this episode. The werewolf mythology for the Kawatche people was great, along with the caves being introduced. I really hope they go back to that before the show ends. I also really liked how this episode showcased Lex's manipulative side. On the surface he made it seem like he cared, but he didn't become interested until he saw the octagonal opening in the cave. Always out for number one. I also really hope for continuity sake that they have Clark give Lois the bracelet.
Visage - A decent episode. Pretty cool twist to have Whitney really be Tina Greer. It is always nice to see a character return. I am not a huge Clana fan, but the opening scene with Lana staring Clark down in the wet shirt and the awkward smiles, showcased some really nice chemistry between TW and KK.
Insurgence - One of the best episodes of the series. Really fantastic. The effects on the super jump alone are amazing in combination with the suspense this episode brings. Plus, the shot with Lex standing alone with Metropolis in the background as the camera pans back playing SR-71's "Tomorrow" is one of my favorite moments of the series.
Suspect - This episode is a bit overrated IMO. A decent episode, but not as great as some people say it is. The reveal at the end with Ethan wasn't too predictable so that was a good thing. I also liked the scenario where you see Lex shoot Lionel.
Rush - Not that great. Red K was brought back just for the sake of being a plot device. A few good scenes like Clark catching the car, the reveal with Chloe, and the Chlark Talon make out. Overall though, not one of my favorites.
Prodigal - LOVE this episode. Extremely underrated. One of my favorites from this season actually. Lucas was an outstanding character. I really wish they would have brought him back. I love how this episode mainly focused on the Luthor family hierarchy. Awesome episode..
Fever - Pretty damn good. The letter reading with Chloe was heartbreaking. You legitimately feel for her there. AM was fantastic in that scene. The scene with the ship healing Martha was great too. Although how they got away with that in the parking lot of a hospital is beyond me.
Rosetta - The first time I saw this on TV when it originally aired I was blown away. It was one of those episodes you just had to see live. However, as you watch it repeatedly on DVD, it loses a bit of its original appeal. There are still many great things. The flying dream, the scene in the cave where Clark gets hit with the energy, Clark/The Kents/Chloe all staring at the symbol on the barn, Clark/The Kents hug before he leaves, Clark/Dr. Swann and the end with Clark/Johnathan. However, the episode is REALLY slow paced. Now when I watch it, I find myself saying "Just hurry up and see Swann already."
Visitor - Hands down one of the WORST episodes of the whole series. Just god awful.
Precipice - A pretty good episode. Had some nice suspense to it. Plus, I like the scene where Clark super-speeds into the side of the train bumping it. Sells the tagline "More powerful than a speeding locomotive". The only thing I hate is the Lana Fu aspect of the episode. She suddenly becomes a martial arts master after a few sessions of kicking a heavy bag with Lex. This is the episode that started it all in terms of Lana girl power.
Witness - An underrated episode IMO. I really enjoy this one. Clark bursting out of the furnace kicked ass, along with Eric Marsh (great villain).
Accelerate - A few good scenes like Clark speeding through the rain. However, I really don't care for this episode. Lana centric episodes are some of the worst of the show. Lana being haunted.. Lame.. It did have one of the few Clana moments I liked though with them coming together in the loft at the end "Maybe its time I started believing in you".
Calling/Exodus - Great season finale. The intro of Jor-El, great cliffhangers, Clark fighting Dr. Walden, etc.. Very good end to the season.

I thought S2 was a pretty decent season myself. Not as good as S3 or S1, but still a pretty good season overall.
I personally enjoyed it more then S3 myself. I can pinpoint my problems with the show basically when Jor-El reared his ugly tyrannical head on the show, which happened late in the season. Add to that in S3 Clana started getting overly repetative, it was much easier putting up with it in S2 when you figured they would go somewhere with it.
Suspect - This episode is a bit overrated IMO. A decent episode, but not as great as some people say it is. The reveal at the end with Ethan wasn't too predictable so that was a good thing. I also liked the scenario where you see Lex shoot Lionel
I am a big fan of Suspect, maybe part of the reasoning people like it alot is it was one of the few episodes ever on the series that really let Clark shine when it came to thinking out stuff for himself.
Rosetta - The first time I saw this on TV when it originally aired I was blown away. It was one of those episodes you just had to see live. However, as you watch it repeatedly on DVD, it loses a bit of its original appeal.
The charm it loses over time is you realize what a bad plot device Jor-El becomes over the next few seasons and this was the episode it really started.
Visitor - Hands down one of the WORST episodes of the whole series. Just god awful
Power and Ageless disagree(I would also through in the bad soap opera Promise which I know some like into the discussion). Bottom 25 worthy yes, worst ever, far from it.
Calling/Exodus - Great season finale. The intro of Jor-El, great cliffhangers, Clark fighting Dr. Walden, etc.. Very good end to the season.
I know I am in a minority but I hate these episodes(as well as Exile) which basically goes back to my hate of the way they used Jor-El as a bad drama plot device.

my second favourite season after season 1, its faults lie in the entrance of tyrannical jor-el, clark knowingly put on red k knowing its effects, still a better season than anything after it.

Ageless is my least favorite episode of the show. The worst one IMO. That is why I said Visitor was "one of" the worst... :D I agree that Power is one of the worst as well.
Promise I don't really have any feels on one way or the other. I was never really into Clana at all, so it didn't effect me too much. Also, I could care less about Lexana as well. I did however, like how they referenced the tornado. I love Vortex, so that was great to see. Personally, I hoped that they would have done that in Reckoning when Lana discovers the truth. The reveal was so rushed that there wasn't any time for discussion. It was the reveal and then "Will you marry me?"
