Was it just me or did anyone else get the feeling that Oliver will eventually take Zatanna up on her offer and wish that he never killed Lex. Zatanna said "there has to be someone you have lost or something you have done that you could take back"
Im thinking that if this is true then i look foward to Lex returning in S9. How does that sound?

I kinda felt that she already granted that wish as soon as Ollie thought it - but maybe I'm just assuming.

I thought his wish would be to bring Lex back too...
I was under the impression she never granted it? :\

I think it just leaves things open for the possibility of Lex returning but I hope that isn't how he returns if he does ever return.

I was under the assumption that she could only switch things around, not change the past so even if she did grant it, doesn't that mean that someone else would be blamed for Lex's murder if it wasn't Oliver? I don't think it would erase his death at all.

I did sense for a second that Oliver might take her up on that offer, and take back killing Lex.Maybe Zatanna did grant it like Ginx said and that could be the return of Lex.Or is that too much of a stretch?

Yeah, Ollie really wanted to undo killing Lex. Which was great he felt guilty. But he still ended up not asking for it which prob really took a lot.

I like to think that when it comes to Smallvile there are no stretches lol. Now normally i dont think this is the way to bring Lex back. Although they could work a storyline of how Lex could have cloned himself and Oliver killed the clone, but most would call that a stretch as well

BTW Zatanna granted a wish for Clark and Chloe, even though they did not ask for it. So she could have definatley granted Ollies as well...

I thought Ollie would had wished that his parents would come back alive just like I thought Clark would of Jonathan. Isn't that what both Ollie and Clark wants?

I mean, the writers made Clark seem selfish and Ollie seemed too obsessed with revenge...

It's the wish they are thinking at that moment only, Oliver probably wanted to torture lex lol

I think it was more of a "what was on the mind at the time" sort of deal. If Clark and Oliver actually thought things through then I think their choices would have obviously been different.

since she said she can grant any wish big or small but not hers, she could've revived the dead if others wished for it maybe

Well, as soon as she said any wish, he looked at the paper with lex. if that's not foreshadowing, than i don't know what is.

I felt that Ollie wished for his parents to be alive but that's why he wanted the book destroyed he knew that it was bad to wish for something that dangerous

I guarantee Lex isn't dead. It would have to be pretty pathetic if the only reason this Lex lives is because Oliver wished him to live.

Remember the legend of Naman with Naman & Sageeth being enemies. They are destined to be enemies, meaning that no matter what, Lex is destined to live. He is alive & will return one day. I thought maybe he might have switched bodies with Oliver, but I guess I was wrong.

Unless, Lex did make a deal with Zatanna's father before he died & became Oliver just like Chloe became Lois and perhaps even killed Zatanna's father. It's more than coincidental that Zatanna's father's book was in Luthorcorp's possession. Given how there is an episode titled Injustice and Tess was assembling a team as seen in Plastique & Prey, it would be incredibly ironic if Lex is also Oliver and is leading that team now that Tess seems to have given up on Lex's plans. I could see Lex as a sniper. Perhaps the Black Sniper instead of the Green Arrow like the real Oliver. Now that would be awesome.

1.They showed Zatana's eyes going blue when she granted wishes, it never happened around Oliver.
2. This episode reiterated the rules, bringing someone back requires killing someone off, no one was killed to bring Lex back.
3. The wish only lasts until the wisher doesn't want it anymore (whether the decision is conscious, or not) if Lex came back this way he would be dead the second he wronged Oliver.

I have a feeling that he might wish lex back. But I don't know about a S9 return

Was I the only one who thought that Oliver was going to wish he hadn't killed Lex? He seemed to take a longing glance or two at the newspaper article regarding Lex's death. It would have been a (within the confines of Smallville) plausible way to bring him back and also would have redeemed Oliver to a degree. If not, what would he have wished for?

I was wondering that myself too...But I don't think Lex is really dead..

I thought it would be bringing his parents back, but the paper article on Lex clearly implied otherwise. I was thinking 'this is a great way to bring Lex back' and you know what? I bet that is what happens. Why do you think she popped in to give him her card at the end?

I think PS3 just found a great excuse for Lex being alive.Zatanna granted his wish unbeknownst to him.

Either that, or they simply skipped over it. My impresssion was that his wish was ignored.

She offered it in return for the book, but she wasn't going to grant it until the book was provided. There was never any exchange between them that we saw after she forcibly took the book from Ollie. I figured that since he was going to burn the book, she decided that he had broken the deal and thus felt no need to "pay" him.

I expected she might grant something in their end scene after she obviously forgave him, but the conversation never went back there.

Yeah but she gave him her card. I figure there's going to be an episode where Clark finds out what Oliver has done, Oliver comes out about how he feels bad about it everyday... and then he finally phones Zatanna up asking for a favour. Finally, we have Lex back. :)

I missed his glance at the papers, but yeah it does make sense.

I'd just assumed he was thinking about Lois... but i do watch Justice wayyyy too often

I suppose this episode at least puts an end to the "Ollie is really Lex" theories.

^ Agreed.

Also, Zatanna obviously gave Oliver her card to leave her future in the JL open-ended. No different than Ollie introducing Black Canary to his "friends" or Bart Allen talking about starting a "league or something."

I thought so too. I think he did too. But I guess he knew he shouldn't change it.
