Anyway.

I thought the fact that he framed her rules was way more romantic than the look. That was the cutest thing in the world.

Yeah that is gross, considering he was admiring her 'upward assets' lol. Chloe was all like "You too?"

The smitten look was great. It wasn't brief at all he actually held her there and smiled at her all wistfully and there was also the admiration of her tight shirt and the smile he was giving her after his Zatanna wammy and the fact that he framed her rules and was all jonesing to call her if there was a whiff of a story.

Clark is keen on Lois, and it was cute this episode which was largely missing from Clana, I thought.

I enjoyed it a lot. :D There was nothing sibling esque here at all.

It was spoiled and some people were worried it wouldn't happen, but it did. So what did the Clois fans think, and everyone else too?

Well, in general, I felt that this episode went a long way in showing where Clark stands in terms of his feelings for Lois.

The way he teases EDChloe (thinking she's Lois) and gets on her case about calling him so much -- while, at the same time, admitting that he listened to every one of her voicemails and spoke to her. Even though he didn't even call Chloe once.

I think that scene between them at the DP went a long ways towards explaining why he was looking at her like that. And, then, it turns out that he's got her rules framed in his desk... and he was kind of like, "Ah..." when she said she was going on a date.

In general, I thought the loving look was OK, because it made sense in the context of the episode. Is it still rather odd to see Clark giving a woman loving looks after what happened with Lana? I guess.

But the sense I got from this episode is that Clark has fallen for Lois without really wanting to.... he's in massive denial about it & it's like AMChloe made him come to face to face with it when she pointed out how he looked at her all day. How can he deny what AMChloe is saying when she just lived EDChloe's life? He knows there is some truth to what she's saying -- and what she's saying is that he is avoiding and supressing his feelings for Lois because of what happened with Lana.

And that? Makes sense. That is a legitimate reason for Clark to give Lois a loving look and not act upon it, at all.

God, I love BQM. He can even make the ending of "Requiem" fit with this current arc.

I thought this episode started on a nice note to Clark's side of things and that he DOES have feelings for Lois and also that Lois has had enough and is moving on. It sets up for Clark's feelings and I was looking forward to that, so I think for that this episode did well in that regard.

It confirmed what I was saying, at least "I" think so, when I was talking about that last scene in "Infamous" that while Clark IS concerned with hurting Lois, he himself is tired of being hurt and is cautious. It'll take him awhile to get over that.

I really liked the Clois in this episode, and I gotta agree with you Abba. If Clois was sibling-esque in this episode, then Clark is in trouble because he has the hots for his own sister and Lois isn't doing too well either because she was flirtatiously teasing her own brother.

So I'm sure glad they aren't siblings . . . aren't you? ;)

So it only happens while she falls? So forced imo.

I sort of agree, but she only lets her guard down when she's in danger. Maybe he was just savoring the moment because he knew it would be a long time before he could look at her like that since she tries to play her interest in him off. He does it too.

Well, I dare anyone in this day and age to watch Xena:Warrior Princess and not see that something was up with Gabrielle and Xena.

The loving stare was very well done.I had expected Chloe as Lois to say something I don't know about their relationship and Clark to look lovingly at her from a distance. What they did was so much better though.I've never been a clois shipper for this show, but the way he caught her and stared into her eyes like he really felt something was cute and fun to watch.

You know I agree with this. Judging from the spoilers I expected the scene to be different and for Chloe to pry and ask a lot of questions, but she didn't. And so the scene seemed more natural that way.

Alright, Mel, you and me in the parking lot outside, five minutes. Oh wait a minute, I'm home . . . raincheck?

No, I'm kidding! :rotfl: But I've always wanted to pretend to be incensed.:p I've never actually been incensed, because I realize I'm a bit 'eccentric' ;) and others don't always feel the way I do.

I liked it more than Bride (though I did enjoy that) because in Bride I felt like he was just admiring her looks and in Hex it actually looked like he was smitten and I enjoyed seeing that. TW delivers that wistful look pretty well I think. That and I was warming to Roma!Clois this season but hadn't really gotten into and after Infamous and now Hex I REALLY like it. Not on the level of Lolliepop of course, but not too shabby either. :)

I like how easy and free flowing it seemed, no heavy handed anvils, just unadultered admiration from Clark. The scene at the end was just as good as the stare though, because it did have a bit of angst on Clark's end (and when I saw his boo-boo face when Lois said she had I date I patted his back 'aww, poor Clark') but it wasn't overly angsty and it seemed very adult.

WELL HE'S NOT IN LOVE WITH HER YET GETTING THERE! PLUS THERE WAS A TIME WHEN HE LOOKED AT LANA THE SAME WAY! I GLAD HE WILL NOT BE DOING LANA EYES AT LOIS SHE DESERVES HER OWN SPECIAL LOOK AND I THINK HER'S IS BETTER NOT SO ANGSTY OR PATHETIC AND DUMB! CLARK LOOKS AT LANA LIKE A FRAIL LITTLE GIRL WHO CANT TAKE CARE HER SELF WHILE HE LOOKS AT LOIS LIKE A WOMAN WHO FACISNATES AND INTRIGES HIM!PLUS SHE CAN HOLD HER OWN WHICH WILL KEEP HIS INTERESTS! I ACTUCALLY FEEL BAD FOR LANA BECAUSE HE STILL LOOKED AT HER LIKE SHE WAS SOME HELPLESS PUPPY THAT DOES NOT KNOW LEFT FROM RIGHT!! :rotfl: <!-- / message -->

I may have punched the air at that point  I didn't expect it to happen at the moment that it happened at...what was interesting was the little bit after it, when he helps EDChloe stand up straight, and he's still holding on to her :D I think the whole episode showed from Clark's POV how he feels about Lois.

What lovingly look?! You mean, the clois bone on the street and her again in his arms?! Yeah, that looks was no different than Committed or Bloodlines looks. Honestly, i don't even know where is Clark coming from with those "feelings", it will take a lot more for me to believe in him. At least it wasn't anything like Bride. Anyway, i liked the ending a lot better, cause it wasn't pushing it, they agreed to start from point zero and Lois, as i knew it would happen, has moved on and is back to her old self again (althought i'm not sure why she mentioned the "standing her up" part, since she told him that day she hadn't made it either to the caffee). I'm just glad the friendship is still there, i was afraid it was going to get awkard between them.

That was the *loving stare* which made Chloe realized “How hard Clark has fallen for Lois”? Then I must say what a exaggerated spoiler that was. Oh wait. Maybe since S9 is confirmed they have changed the Clois part of each script?

And I have to disagree with EDChloe there. I’m pretty sure we did see the Clark’s *look* as loving as that one he gave it to Chloe before. Or is it just me?

I think that I enjoyed the conversation more than the look, itself.

Clark: What's with the look?
Chloe: Well, you just never really looked at me like that before.

Clark freaks out and hauls her up. He looks her up and down and is clearly flustered.

I think Clark's reaction to EDChloe calling him on the look was a bigger deal.

MrZeppo
03-27-2009, 11:25 AM

Hey eas!

I totally agree with you. I think at this point Clark is obviously smitten with Lois and is in denial.

And as much as he may try to hide it, as much as he may try to fight it, she just manages to get past his defenses. I think he's hiding who he is because she makes him feel normal, he wants to protect her from the dangers of knowing his secret, and he's actually afraid to open up because he feels he is going to get hurt again.

I found it very interesting that every single time Chloe tries to call Clark out on how he feels about Lois, he looks like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He always pointedly avoids the topic, but whenever we see him with Lois he is obviously smitten with her, he's just too afraid to say anything.

I will admit I am glad how this all went down. Based on spoilers for this episode alone I was afraid after Chloe caught Clark giving EDChloe that look she would feel hurt or betrayed because he never looked at her like that. And that it would drive a wedge between Chloe and Clark and drive her towards Davis. But she obviously doesn't. She accepts Clark has feelings for Lois and actually is pushing him to confront his own feelings rather than avoid him. It was a very mature situation and I couldn't help but cheer BQM for doing a great job in showing real undeniable character growth. And seeing the good ol' Chloe/Clark friendship was touching.

I loved the look, I don't think that it was a loving look as much as a look of someone who is realizing that he is starting to fall for this person. I thought it was just right.

LOL I love the gopher guy that brought her the coffee and her dry cleaning, He is so excited to be helping her and he even brought the coffee in a heart mug :rotfl:

I still like "Lois" falling into Clark's arms though the most, it gave me the warm fuzzies in my tummy. I was all sighs and smiles and my niece burst up to shout . . .

"I KNEW it! I knew he liked her!"

I called it a 'smitten' look.

Because he's not IN love with her, but he cares about Lois and is attracted to her.

lol they look more like bro and sis. it was nothing compared to how he looked at lana

The looks at Lana have been pure angst!! You're right, there is no comparison!;)

Clark looked at Lois with true love in his eyes! It was a breath taking look, and Tom Welling knocked the cover off the ball last night with not only that look but also when Lois was walking away at the DP. I've never seen the "gleam in his eye" that he displayed last night with Lois anytime that he was with Lana (or more likely without and feeling angsty).

That gleam told us that he knows he wants Lois, and he's not writing her rule to keep the games on the field on that list!;)

I loved it! It was just the right amount to let the audience know that he's fallen for her!

"Cheers To That" and no looking back!!

The "look" was very apparent and altogether loaded with feeling. The way his eyes swept to her lips then back up again as he huskily (another poster's word, but it works perfectly) asks her what's the look for? He was totally in the moment and he drew me in with him. :) Lovely scene. Hope to see more of this in the future.

I thought the fact that he framed her rules was way more romantic than the look. That was the cutest thing in the world.

I thought it meant a lot too. It's kind of romantic, actually.

Maybe not to Chloe, but that look wasn't any news to me; he looked at her like that before. I think we were kinda induced to believe in that look, since it was so spoiled before. U just use the right light, the right position (Lois is Clark's arms is 100% effective), a romantic background music and voilá, u are completely taken by it!
The only lovingly look Clark gave Lois is the one from Bride and another one of those is still to come. But these writers are pretty smart when it comes to pleasing ships, they know exactly how to play cute little scenes and things to make fans squee and make us all forget that they disrespected us before.:\ I just hope they don't veer off course anymore ever again, now that they are back on Clois track.

I had to read your post over three times I loved it so much! I said earlier (not in this forum but in conversation) that he was breathless when he spoke, and I actually like this description better of him saying those words "huskily"! I hope to see more of this as well, and yes he drew me in that moment too!!:)
