I don't know if it was just a problem with my tv or my CW affiliate, but did anyone else have "Turbulence" in fullscreen. Usually, even on the regular CW stations, Smallville is broadcast in widescreen. Are they going back to showing the episodes in fullscreen mode like they did with seasons 1-3. Normally I don't mind if it is fullscreen but this time, even the credits were this way forcing some of the names to cut off.

These past few episodes have been in Fullscreen for me. I think it's got something to do with the digital/analog switch over. Usually I could view in widescreen, but not anymore.

I live in New York too. I watch Smallville through PIX11. I missed Infamous last week but "Requiem" aired fine for me.

The first episode to air in fullscreen for me was Legion. Ever since then both Smallville and Supernatural have been in fullscreen. It sucks too. It looks like they just blew the scenes up to fill the screen. If you look at the opening credits, notice how the letters "S" and "E" in Smallville are now cut off, and there are times when a person's face goes out of frame when it is meant to be seen. If they are going to air in fullscreen, they need to do a better job of formatting it to fit the screen, instead of just blowing the footage up.

This thread is a good discussion of transmission problems.

I live in NY too and have it in fullscreen on WPIX. I don't have cable. I'm glad it's in fullscreen since I have a regular TV. It's been like this for quite a few episodes.

Yes. In the closeups, I see 3/4 of a face. It has a very claustrophobic effect on me. :lol:

Same here. I totally agree!

me too. I don't like it.
---And here I thought it was because we were back to using this tiny old portable TV after our big one left us around the beginning of January. ;lol;
I didn't really notice it that bad until the last couple of episodes though.

I see it full screen but nothing is cut off. Maybe it depends on how wide of a screen you have. I don't have the newer TVs but my screen is not square either.

I guess it depends on the TV you have. Last year, unfortunately, I didn't have a TV, well I had one but if didn't work, so I went to a local laundry room near by my house to watch Smallville on the TV. A small TV. I started at that place with "Kara." It was widescreen, but then the rest were all in fullscreen! I was mad.
I watched "Bizarro" and "Blue" at a TV room, because I was looking forward to those epic episodes, except "Blue" wasn't. But it was an HDTV, so those two were in fullscreen.
