Maybe (probably?) in another thread, but I haven't had a chance to log on here in days since the ep aired. Why did the Green K in the toolbox affect Clark only after he opened the drawer???? He's right in front of the box, looking to open it for the Legion ring. Well, the toolbox isn't made of lead, why wouldn't the radiation of the green K nail him just by reaching for the drawer handle?

Well to be fair it may be made of lead cause his dad kept a piece of greenk there in previous seasons (i think) but the actual reason for him falling over after we see it is because the writers think we are dumb and therefore we need to see the kryptonite before it affects Clark...just like the grren k river/puddle in that ep with pete...wasn't the ep called stride...oh wait they were just the advertisers:p

I'll let the writers try to convince us any way they want, but I have been buying tool boxes for ages...one made of lead? I don't think so :) And if so, would Jonathon ever been able to move it? Mine are heavy enough with the tools, let alone with the box made of lead!

I remember the first green K appearance in the 1950's "Adventures of Superman." Well, it's actually synthetic kryptonite that a scientist concocts, but it works. Jimmy Olsen is able to save Superman by putting it in a drain pipe torn off the nearby sink; the pipe was made of lead, and back in the 50s I think it wouldn't have been unusual for a pipe to be made of lead, but not even then a toolbox. Ho hum.....we just throw logic to the wind with SV maybe once too often :)

The writers expect us to suspend our disbelief but sometimes i think it expects us to suspend our logic too:) those crazy writers...what will they think of next...I mean next thing you know they will be giving lana super powers and then having her skin be basically made of kryptonite and then...Wait this already happened:p see what i mean...they are using insane troll logic to write their eps:)

Actually, I'm pretty sure wood blocks radiation--not nearly as well as lead, but hey. Plus it was in the box; it was only exposed on one side...

It's a suspension of disbelief, but not really a suspension of logic, IMHO.

The toolbox doesn't have to be made of lead. Since it is old, lead paint could have been used inside or outside or both. Lead paint was used by Clark in a room to keep Alicia contained.

true that. I guess you are right. and the suspension of logic i was referring to was the lana/powers/krypto being arc...other than lana's stuff they are pretty good about making a fictional show seem realistic:) IMO

Exactly what I was thinking. Either lead paint or the toolbox was made of lead.

I always thought that tool box was lined with lead somehow. They kept Green K there all the time....
