She was less annoying this episode because she finally remembered she has an injured husband, instead of leaving Lois to take care of him.

She is such a bad wife.

She seemed like herself in this episode. All season long I always had the feeling something was off with her but now it seems like we have Chloe back.

In the beginning of the season she seemed detached and stand offish but last night she was cheery , smiling and altogether more enjoyable to watch. She wasn't negative and just had Clark's back no matter what.

To answer your question...yes she was less annoying!

She was very annoying by one thing she did: she, not Clark, came up with the dual personality logistics that Clark will be using as Superman (and possibly the Blur if he ever gets a Blur suit). She stepped way over the line by saying this. This was the final part of Clark that needed to be developed and it was ruined by a pointless scene and a few stupid lines from Chloe. This is another example of how the writing of Chloe since season 5 has come at the expense of Clark's development. She had no business opening her mouth about that. Clark is the hero and he is the one who will become Superman and he is the one who should be devising the logisitics of his hero persona. If not, then kill him off and make Chloe a superhero. I've had it with Chloe intruding on Clark's hero role and discovering things that he's supposed to come up with. Chloe should have been there to help him with the Linda Lake situation and nothing else. I finally liked what they were doing with her earlier this season, but they had to once again resort to the same old Chloe upstaging Clark scenario.

It is amazing how nobody else is fuming over this and pointing out how pathetic this makes Clark look. I'm reading complaints about Lois and the Legion ring & other stuff, but nobody else is mentioning this. The duality and the exact specifics of how Clark was going to do it was a major piece of development and the last leg of Clark's development that needed to be shown over the remaining episodes of this & next season. How could they ruin such an important thing---showing that Superman is the answer and the solution that finally allows Clark to be himself---to just a few lines and not have Clark be the one to arrive at the conclusion over time? TPTB are just plain stupid & have failed Clark and continue to fail him repeatedly. And if they fail the main character the show is based on, then they are a bunch of failures, period.

Had Clark been written as he was in the first 3 seasons, he would have been the one to come up with all the ideas around his superhero persona and how he would do it.

----- Added 4 Minutes later -----

I would love it if season 9 would turn the show into a Kung Fu type show where Clark travels the world by himself and helps people like Caine did in Kung Fu. Or if they make a seperate show with just Clark so they could make Chloe & Lana become superheroes & take over Smallville.

but in all honesty even though chloe said it outloud these thoughts were put in his head from John Jones way back in ep 6. Chloe was just to hit the message home cause with clark everything moves at its own pace and its a slow one...steady but slow:)

I don't think JJ put the exact idea in his head. He said that Clark needed to do something to protect his identity, but didn't say what that something was. I would have been OK had Chloe said the same thing. But she actually solved his problem for him, and I just can't stand it.

The only annoying thing about Chloe is that I don't have her phone number :D

AM, was as amazing, and more beautiful than ever, and has never once been annoying in one single ep (although I felt she was severely compromised during her memory wipe period).

And when the time shifts takes place, who does Clark tell about the alternate time line? Who does he continue to confide in, who advises Clark to hold a dual identity? Go ahead.....say the name........Chloe. I am praying she survives the entire series, but I am also looking that she is the true catalyst that allows Clark Kent to truly become Superman.

Chloe is not annoying, nor has she ever been, in my opinion. I love her character dearly, and truly hope that she stick around until Smallville's ultimate conclusion; otherwise, I don't think I'd really enjoy watching the show all that much anymore, I'm sorry to say. :( She adds so much life to it, and tonight, she proved her loyalty and steadfast friendship yet again. Let's hope she sticks around until the very end! And by the way, grrr.... she is NOT a bad wife just because TPTB don't let her make comments about her injured husband in every episode. That's bad writing; it doesn't make her a bad character.

I think my biggest issue was in order to write her into the plot with Clark, they had to dumb down Clark like he was a 15 year old. Problem is everything she said to Clark was right, he was just to stupid to realize it.

Even her reaction when CK told he was going to reveal his id was very selfish. Her character, even after 8 seasons, wishes Clark would be hers but no one else's.

Chloe has never gotten on my nerves. But I’m realizing that I am letting go of this character, because I think she is going to get killed.

I already have let go of this character as of a while ago. Personally, if she gets rid of Jimmy O., and they write her in such a way that she becomes an on again/off again side kick to Clark...like she used to be (meaning sometimes I like Clark working alone, and sometimes it's more fun with the Scoobying)....then maybe I'll like the character again. But if she's gonna stay married to the loser through out the rest of mythology....then I'll be first in line to cheer when they kill her off. Not even my fondness for the actress that plays Chloe can make me wish different in that scenario. Make her death as slow and as painful as possible I say.

Yeah it worked the first few seasons when Clark's parents would lecture him, but when Chloe does it, it comes off terrible. There is many things in this episode I didn't care for, I thought overall it was terrible for Clark's character

You sound like someone who enjoyed her the first few years the most (like me). I loved how she had her own life and wasn't Clark's "mother" back then (because Clark was smart enough to know how to do things on his own). They really were partners back then. I loved the Clark-Chloe-Pete stable/clique. Season 3 was so cool because she and Clark were both seperately against Lionel & then teamed up after a point & each had their own contributions to their teamup.

I found her really annoying this episode. It was her idea to use time travel but when Clark finds away to do it she tells him about the consequences of time travel. Then she tells Clark about how he can have an alter ego, I wish Clark could figure it out on his own.

Then she tells Clark about how he can have an alter ego, I wish Clark could figure it out on his own.

This is what bothered me most about her fromm seasons 5-8. They built her up by inventing the logistics for Superman and made Clark look bad by not developing him and having him come to the same conclusion by trial & error.

I loved the good old days too...
but honestly, I expected a change between them...because she didnt know his secret back then.

She has kind of had to take on a mother role because Clark relies on her so heavily. Which is her fault for letting it happen....but Clark is just as much to blame.

I personally didnt mind her being the one to hint at clarks alter egos and going back in time. I think the writers are just trying to give some significance to Chloe. It looks like they are taking her character down the death road....and this way she had a part in making Clark Kent into Superman.

I know a lot of people dont care for her character...for one reason or another. But for those of us who do like her...it would be heartbraking to see her character die and sink off into oblivian after 8 years of friendship with Clark.

So basically...I didnt think she was annoying at all (and yes...even though I love her character, I can find her annoying from time to time) and I thought her "cape" reference was cute.

I didn't vote because I didn't see an option that I liked.

The only times I find Chloe to be annoying is when she functions as Clark's brain. Like in their last scene. After Clark's experience, that only he could remember by the way, he should have been the one to realize that he needed a dual identity. He didn't need his surrogate mommy to tell him that, he should have made the connection on his own. Other than those times, I don't have a problem with her.

I dont think Chloe was ever annoying... her personality in this show was always about finding the truth (which was very comic Lois Lane-like) and then moved on to becoming Clark's confident. In this season shes darker than usual... like she has a reason for being conniving other than just the brainiac infection

On the rare occasion Chloe...frustrates me. But I feel her character really shone all the way throughout this episode. Especially the Chloe/Davis scene in the first timeline. It showed a real maturity on Chloe's part. Also, her willingness to protect her friend from Doomsday was just a wonderful moment. Now, I'm not sure if my opinion of future Chloe will stay the same or be changed in some way...(will I find her annoying in future episodes?)

LovelyLoisLane

Chloe did get on my nerves in the past, but I don't remember her getting on my nerves that much at all this season.

I was more focused on Clark through the whole episode but what scenes he did have with Chloe were good ones and it was nice to see her jump to her friend's side when Davis let her know he was Doomsday. No milk bone for you Doomy. :p

I will say that Chloe should not be THEE catalyst to turn Clark into Superman, because no one person should be. Clark himself and the whole experience of his life and all his loved ones up to this point should turn him into Superman and I'd say that minus the terrible P/R episodes he is pretty darn close to being that already this season. I know not everyone agrees with that though. :p

I did get irritated with Chloe seeming to be 'training' Clark on how to be superhero in previous seasons, but then he took the reins in hand and now Chloe's suggestions come across as just that instead of her leading him by the hands. So her comment on the dual identity didn't bother me, because I think that is something Clark probably had an idea about but just didn't see it to its full potential yet. Hence the mistakes he made in "Infamous"

But no, she didn't irritate me at all this episode but to say Chloe was 'less' annoying . . . well she hasn't annoyed me this season anyway.
