In the scene in which the public is congratulating and marking-out over Clark (if memory serves), there is a poster of Clark Kent's head and shoulders in the red/blue style of that Obama picture. I don't have a screencap, nor do I have the ability to get one, but I know it's there.

Political commentary from PS3? Has there been, to the best of our collective memories, any other political references over the course of the show?

Your thoughts? Endearing? A little too cute? Not appropriate in a superhero show?

TV shows should be bi-partisan,non denominational, and PC correct.

Yeah that was so sweet.I remember thinking what the heck seeing that there was a ton of people crowding his house already. But when I saw that it just totally magnified the scene for me.That poster is so famous and most everyone knows it,so it's pretty cool they included that with Clark.

I'm glad someone else noticed that as well, I was going to say something but I didn't want to get objects thrown at me.

Those huge posters of Clark in a water-color style were totally like those popular grafitti posters of Obama with 'Hope' on it. LOL, during the campaign there were manips everywhere of Obama in a Superman suit, so I guess it works.

I'd say that was fine to do that, the man is our (American's) president now, so it isn't like making a campaign-favorite statement. The campaign has long since been over. So it is just a harmless bit of fun.

I saw it as ps3 or someone in the prop department making fun of people comparing obama to superman by having a poster of clark in the obama style.

Lol, yeah, I did catch that, so hilarious! I was going to point it out to my friend, but didn't want to miss something, so I just kept quiet!

I saw it and thought it looked familiar, but I didn't quite connect the dots until I read this.

Hmm, I don't quite know what I think of that.

Anyone else think that was awesome. I laughed when they had it coming across the screen. Can anyone post a screen shot of it?

LOOOL. Thanks for the pic. I didn't notice it but yes ! you are right. Well, I am not concerned directly being French but I think it was for fun. Really. And well, it doesn't shock me. We are not there to speak about Obama and politic but this is a fact when he won, the world reacted like he could be Superman. You know, the man who can save the world...

Actually, It may not necessarily be intended to be a knock-off of Obama's picture.

It is most likely a knock-off of Andy Warhol's style of painting. Google images of Andy Warhol's painting and you will see what I mean. He is very famous for that style. One of his most widely recognized is that of Marilyn Monroe.

You were considered to be very famous if Andy Warhol did a painting of you in that style. He's dead now but people still copycat him.

Red and Blue were Superman's colours first after all.

It was intended to look like Shepard Fairey's Obama "Hope" poster, just like the TDK shirt with the Joker. Someone make a Clark "Believe" shirt!

I am still learning how to post correctly. But I saw a t-shirt with Obama on it opening his shirt Clark Kent to Superman style. If you do a search for Obama Superman and Alex Ross (the artist I believe) you will see the image I am talking about.

Kind of a reversal. =)

Do people really not do that in Australia? It was 100% realistic for the U.S.

Heh, I saw that, and loved it.

Do I mind the fact they did that? Not in the slightest. Not just because I like Obama, but mainly because I just think it's really cool when they present Clark as a real twenty-first century man, and not simply the same ol' Superman airing in 2009. There are tons of knock-offs of the Obama poster (my favorite is Luke Skywalker with "HOPE" still written under it :p), so I think upon Clark's discovery it was only natural for a 2009-living admirer of the RBB to make a similar knock-off for Clark. The idea behind that was refreshing. :)

Something just occurred to me today--could "BELIEVE" be a reference to the tagline from the Superman movie?

(You'll believe a man can fly!)
