Clark is shell-shocked from his brush with fame; What is it going to take to get him to reconsider the idea of operating in public?

I'm sad cause he's back to playing the hermit, back to thinking it's better off he remain anonymous, when the alternatives have been obvious for quite some time now

He'll give the things Chloe said about dual identities a thought. I actually hoped this episode would have explored that a bit further.

No actually I think Clark's progression here was quite frankly, amazing.

He got his brush with fame and it left an extremely bitter taste in his mouth. He's right, the public can't know the RBB is Clark Kent. And he did get to see the good side of it, being able to inspire people to be better. I don't expect him to immediately want to jump into the idea of a costumed identity like Ollie, because he's fast enough to hide his identity right now.

And we did see him in the end of this episode considering a dual identity when Chloe told him to basically do what we know of the mythos. And based off of spoilers, he is considering it in "Turbulence" too.

I'm really okay with a two-steps-forward-one-step-back progression, but I'm not seeing much forward progress in terms of how he changes his behavior or the way he lives. It was still too tenuous for my taste.
