21.02.09 Alan Tudyk will play Alpha in Whedon's Dollhouse
ATDN can now reveal that Alan will play the rogue doll Alpha in Joss Whedon's series 'Dollhouse', which premiered on Fox on Friday February 13th.
The show features agents known as 'dolls' who can be programmed with any skill or personality. Alpha has been described as having 'multiple personalities, fragmented and twisted from his time in the Dollhouse'. Hisname suggests that he was the first person to be engaged by those in charge of the Dollhouse. It appears that Alan has already appeared on screen, albeit obscured and in some scenes played by a double to throw viewers off the scent.

The 12th episode of Dollhouse is called...
Omega.
Speculate away.
"Omega (the last letter of the Greek alphabet) is often used to denote the last, the end, or the ultimate limit of a set, in contrast to Alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet. In the New Testament book of Revelation, God is declared to be the 'alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last'."
Okay, i'm excited! :D

True Believer Echo infiltrates a dangerous cult in order to save a woman who's being held against her will, but the mission may be complicated by the imprint given her: that of a visually impaired woman.
Man on the streetEcho is turned into a model wife for an Internet mogul (Patton Oswalt); the identity of Sierra's attacker is learned; Mellie's life is endangered; Ballard comes face-to-face with Echo.

Ballard will meet one FBI colleague who may start believing him and even help him a little. He also has some cute, funny scenes with one of the show’s actresses.
Eliza had to learn Russian for the show’s last episode, and she’s also a super-midwife in one episode
Dolls can be remotely deactivated via telephone? Well, it’s possible, it happens, and it’s bad news for Echo. Who makes the call? Alpha.
And guess who’ll be playing him?
Knowledge of this person’s identity will ruin a major Alpha-related twist that Dollhouse boss Joss Whedon has been desperately trying to keep a lid on.
Alpha has been described as having ‘multiple personalities, fragmented and twisted from his time in the Dollhouse’. Hisname suggests that he was the first person to be engaged by those in charge of the Dollhouse. It appears that Alan has already appeared on screen, albeit obscured and in some scenes played by a double to throw viewers off the scent.
There are some rumors and clues floating around from “trusted” sources:
* First is simple. What if we were to meet Alpha without knowing we were meeting Alpha?
* Sean Maher - the actor who played Doctor Simon Tam in Joss Whedon’s Firefly
* Here’s the link to his picture and name of the person Kristin from E! says that is ( she rarely get wrong ).http://www.spoilersguide.com/dollhouse/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/dollhouse-alpha1.jpg
We’ll get to see Alpha face-to-face in the final episode of season one.

yeah i definintly think it's a put off... if Joss wants us to be surprised, then we will be... he's much too good to let something so huge slip out IMO

Reported by AfterElton.com, Joss has stated that members of the Dollhouse will be programmed to be homosexuals... and it will happen in one of the first 13 episodes
AfterElton.com: Joss, with Tara and Willow, you created probably the best same-sex relationship. Is there anything in Dollhouse that a gay man can look forward to?
Joss Whedon: The thing about Dollhouse by its nature is the relationships are rather ephemeral. Having said that, sexuality is part of what the actives were created for. So exploring different kinds of sexuality is going to be part of the show inevitably. We don’t have long-term relationships set up because they forget who they are at the end of every day, but same-sex encounters is part of the mythos. It comes with the territory.
AE: Is there anything gay in the works fairly soon or is that likely to happen later in the season?
JW: There will be something within the order we have, for sure, the first 13. It’s not something anybody has asked us to shy away from. It’s not something that has made the network twitchy at all. They get it. And they’re not asking for it with a lascivious grin, either. They’re just like,This is just about what humans need from each other. And that’s not all sexual; most of it’s not. But when it deals with sexuality, they know that some time they’ll be from each other that is sometimes what humans need from each other they may not admit is in themselves.

There ARE other dollhouses around the world according to 'Dollplay's' conclusion
This concluded Hazel’s quest to find out about her past. We made her a whole person again. She also now remembers the passcode needed to get out of the container, but she doesn’t leave before uploading one last video. The video expalins that the Dollhouse isn’t the only one that imprints people — everyone does it. Schools, parents, religion, governments, they all mold people into something they’re not — obedient little consumers who think they’re changing the world by voting for the least bad choice every four years.
But there is a line and this is where Hazel draws hers: People can be molded, but everyone has a right to their own personality.
Hazel thanks us for our help and warns us about Dollhouses all over the world. Together we have to ensure that they go down. With that, she takes her gun, her money and steps out onto the cold deck of a ship in the middle of Greenland.
We heard you, Hazel. Godspeed. Until we meet again.

SFX interview with Mark Sheppard
SFX: You've worked with Joss Whedon again and have a recurring role in Dollhouse, right?
Sheppard: "Yes. Playing Tanaka in Dollhouse is a lot of fun for me. It's pretty obvious from the character's name that I probably wasn't the first choice for the role! But I think Joss wanted to include me, and they asked me if I wanted to fill this particular spot. And I think they rolled the spot around the fact that they've now got me. As I arrived right outside the stage, and Joss is there, and my first word's were, 'Can I keep the name?!' He's like, 'I knew you were gonna say that!' So I think it's gonna be one of those things that we're gonna have an interesting time portraying Tanaka. He'll have to come up with a reason for the name!"

wikipedia definition of epitaph - for those of you who, like me, had no idea what one was
An epitaph (from Greek: ἐπιτάφιος epi-taphios "at,over-tomb" — literally: "on the gravestone"[1]) is a short text honoring a deceased person, strictly speaking that inscribed on their tombstone or plaque, but also used figuratively. Some are specified by the dead person beforehand, others chosen by those responsible for the burial. An epitaph may be in verse; poets have been known to compose their own epitaphs prior to their death, as W.B. Yeats did.

A couple of tid bits:
Now thanks to Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online, we learn a few more things about this Friday's episode. According to Kristin, the episodes focuses on a documentary on whether the Dollhouse urban legend is true or not.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, there's some sexy time going on with the lovely Sierra. The real thrill, though, is still going to be Echo and Paul!
and
Who is Echo?
Why is she working at the Dollhouse?
These are the two most pressing questions on the minds of fans - and Entertainment Weekly says each will begin to be answered on the show's April 3 episode.
During that installment, we'll be treated to a series of flashbacks that depict who Echo was, along the underlying "why" and "how" she ended up being lured into the Dollhouse.

20 Dollhouses?! WTF?? Are we going to see any of them this season? -Rebecca
According to creator Joss Whedon, we won't actually be seeing any of the other dollhouses this season, but we will be meeting some of the people in charge of them and hearing more on the subject. If FOX orders another year of episodes in May though, we'll probably get to peek inside the other DHs down the road. And yes, the plan is to have brand new sets built, not just the set we've seen so far with new people.

Okay we got a biggie!
Unfortunately i didn't get to hear about it in time and the video has been removed. But the April Fool's joke played on the Dollhouse cast was during a very spoilery scene and a lot of people got to see it...
There are theories that the spoiler itself could be a joke, or that it could be part of a dream episode that was planned for the end of the season. So there is nothing concrete yet
Anyway, one person described it as
The video shows Echo in the imprinting room, only she's wearing street clothes and Topher asks if she wants a treatment, not Boyd. Then she gets in the chair and we see there's someone else in the room... Ballard. Topher says he's imprinting Echo so that she can speak another language. Ballard says something I can't quite understand, and Topher says to Ballard he knows what he's doing, which seems to imply that Ballard is undercover as a client, perhaps. But wouldn't Topher know what Ballard looks like? Anyway, then Echo wakes up and speaks a foreign tongue. Topher can't understand her. Then she goes to leave and there's a guy dressed in a bear suit. That's the supposed prank.

DOLLHOUSE (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT) "Omega" Season Finale

The reason why they aren't showing "Epitaph one" has been explained on a couple of sites...
UPDATE, 3:38 p.m.: Spoiler alert! Just snagged ya'll some exclusive new info on "Epitaph One." A source whispers to me that "Epitaph One" comes from the writerly brains of Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. It's a totally non-finale-ish stand-alone episode, and—here's the crazy part—it's apparently set in the future, after the apocalypse, amidst total anarchy. And yes, I am describing an episode of Dollhouse, not a scene from Terminator. No word yet on where, when or how we might be able to see it if not on Fox, but just off the top of my head, Hulu, DVD/Blu-Ray and/or a special Comic-Con screening all come to mind. What sounds good to you?
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b117929_dollhouse_heres_deal_on_season_finale.html
Fox network ordered 13 episodes of the show. Joss Whedon shot a pilot, and then the pilot was scrapped in favor of a new pilot, but for contractual purposes, that unaired pilot counted as part of the 13-episode order -- which means Fox only had 12 episodes to deal with. Eight of those have aired, and four more are still to come, all of which have been scheduled, with the last of those -- with the very finale-ish title of "Omega" -- set to air May 8.

Edward in West Deptford, N.J.: How about some Dollhouse scoop?
As we reported last week, Dollhouse episode 14, aka "Epitaph One," takes place in the future, but we've since learned that the ep is set 30 years in the future, and that the episode includes no main characters. Hmmm...Speaking of Dollhouse, the Victor-Lonelyhearts reveal was a shocker, no? Does that lay to rest your doubts about the Dollhouse being almost purely an engine of sexual exploitation? Or is the Dollhouse just like any new technology—film, VHS, the Internet—where the porny types are always the first adopters?
http://uk.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b118469_spoiler_chat_crazy_private_practice.html
No main characters... I'm kinda glad this will be on DVD tbh... the finale will be brilliant as it is, and Epitaph one will just be like an alternate universe extra kind of thing to look forward too. :)

I didn't see this as that spoilery, but whedonesque put a massive spoiler warning on it... weird...
Echo & Everyone: Eliza Dushku tells us, "It is revealed in ep 11 why Caroline is the focus of so much attention. Questions are answered in a freaky delicious way."

Sierra & Victor: There's little hope for further romantic progress between Sierra and Victor (Enver Gjokaj), at least during the remainder of this season. Says Dichen Lachman, "Sadly, I think that's been put to bed for a little while. But it's so beautiful and innocent, and it has a lot of potential." Yeah it does!
Sierra & Topher: Topher (Fran Kranz) hires Sierra to be his Doll friend in the next episode. Dichen tells us, "Topher's a really sweet guy, but he's a lonely man. I think deep down he just wants a friend. He does ask Boyd (Harry Lennix) for a Doll. Boyd says, 'Sierra hasn't been active for a while, why don't you use her?' Things do occur—nothing sexual or sinister or inappropriate, but he does build a certain type of person. Being a computer geek, and liking computer games and football...I think you see the character being built around those specifications; very clean and friendly."

Topher & Dr. Saunders: According to Fran Kranz (love him), it's not just you if you think you see something happening between him and Dr. Claire Saunders (Amy Acker). We actually asked about his feelings for fellow lab rat Ivy (Liza Lapira), and he turned his answer into a statement about Dr. S! According to Fran, "Ivy and Topher are buddies. I think one other question is Dr. Saunders and Topher. I wouldn't count on anything romantic coming near Topher for a long time, but there's an interesting relationship with Dr. Saunders."
Interesting relationship, huh? Hmmm….
Miracle Laurie Jason LaVeris/Getty Images
Mellie & Paul: The wonderful Miracle Laurie says of November's imprint's feelings for Tahmoh Penikett's Paul, "Poor things, they're totally doomed. It's really sad. Mellie believes she loves Paul, that's what she's been imprinted to do—to be with him no matter what." True, it's completely fake, but in the meantime, quite a hot pairing, don't you think?

Looks like Alpha meets Paul next week. The Firefly alum is playing Alpha, I believe.

and Alpha reveals himself to set his end game in motion.
I have to admit that I lost interest in the Alpha storyline a while back and am kinda sorry to see they are going back to it. The last few eps with no to little mention of him have been particularly good, IMO.
Still, at least we'll get some closure.

This is awesome news! Joss' shows are always best when he is writing them himself (and to have him directing it too? Icing on the chocolaty cake that we already have!).

So of course there is news coming in from SDCC, the panel and all. Here's the only bit I have so far though:
Click Here for spoilers (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Dollhouse-Whedon-alumni-1008428.aspx)
and let the guessing begin on who the "trustworthy" person that Joss is going to kill is!

I guess I can kinda clarify this (Even though it's from forever ago) I just recently got my hands on a copy of Epitaph one, and 99% of what is described above is a scene from the middle of the episode. It's kinda like a flashback, and it's hard to explain, but that's definatly what this is. But, there is no bear suit in the real episode, that part's fictional.
On the S2 front, the stuff from Comi-Con looks promising, and I can't wait for s2! I just really hope they don't kill Topher, I know some people hate him, but he has to be one of my favourite characters on the show.

I just watch another clip from Comic Con and am still smiling about the news about Victor (Joss said that Victor is going to be healed, surprisingly fast [I'm paraphrasing]). So yay, Victor will not be relegated to the sidelines like Whiskey was! (although it would have been interesting to see Victor take on the persona of the Doctor...)

I'm actually more intrested in if or when Felicaia Day will make her apperences. Not that I'm not a fan of Summer but I know she will be on the show so I can be paticent. Day on the other hand reportedly had her sceen from the premeire cut. No one has said of it has been scrapped or just moved
