View Full Version : Name that Song (Songs Aired on Smallville) :)

I'm not sure if this game has already been created but I thought of it last night. This is the first game thread that I've started. :) I hope a lot of posters come in to play. I've so enjoyed playing the other memory games. I didn't even know they existed. I generally post in the episodes and spoilers section. Anyway, you write a lyric/line or two from a song that has aired on any Smallville episode. The players then have to name the song (and who it is by - but that's optional), the episode and give a brief description of when it played in the episode. The original poster or asker of the question then verifies that it is the correct answer. The player that gets it right starts the next song sequence.
Here's an example from the OC
Lyric:
Hmm, what ya say.
Answer:
Hide and Seek by Imogen, Graduates Episode, Marissa shot Ryan's brother
Now for Smallville
Lyric:
~The news that truly shocks is the empty empty page~

08-11-2009, 03:58 PM
Is that from "Don't Dream It's Over" by Sixpence None The Richer - played at the end of Rush at the Talon when Lana throws Clark's apology rose in the bin?
I'm pretty sure that's right, but I always thought it was "Get to know..." Either way, I think you're up, skully.
skully
08-11-2009, 04:42 PM
Yeah, that's why I didn't put up a new one - I have the same lyric as you.
OK..
Lyric: "Cause you got to be seen to be playing the game"
I think that is from "Otherwise" by Morcheeba, which is playing in the background at the Talon when Jonathan and Martha meet with Rachel Dunleavy.
----- Added 1 Minutes later -----
Lyric: "I've made some sense of what we've been through"
skully
08-11-2009, 09:38 PM
That is also from a Morcheeba song "Gained the World" - played at the end of (ugh) Fierce as Clark and Lana discuss their future at the Harvest Festival and Lex (in the Talon alley) tries to get Kara to admit she was the "angel" that saved him.
Lyric: "Remember past times, don't hide so shy"
Whatever you think of Fierce, you've got to admit that the scene at the end between Lex and Kara was pretty good... :)
Yours is the song that is playing when Chloe and Jimmy first arrive at the club in Sleeper. It's by Madita, and I think the title is "September" (although a reputable source says it is "Shiver" - I've looked up the lyrics to both songs, though, and it appears to be the former).
skully
08-11-2009, 10:51 PM
That's the one, MrsK.
And regarding Fierce, much like Wither, Ageless and a few other less favored epis, I always get something out each. Just that the plot of that epi (and execution of it) leaves me a little cold. And the runway sequences make me cringe. :)
Not as cold as Carly, or even Jimmy ended up being, I hope! :p And I agree, while there were a couple of good scenes, there wasn't a whole lot to like in Fierce. (I still maintain that Wither was a worse 3rd ep, though...)
----- Added 1 Minutes later -----
Lyric: "Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine"

Your lyric is from "Last Resort" by Papa Roach - playing in Metamorphosis as Greg Arkin is driving in his VW and his bugs escape and attack him.

This one took me a while. Todd Thibaud - Is It Love played in Stray. Hope it's right.
Lyric: 'I look around at a beautiful life'

Lyric: "And each day we try the best we can to recover"No offense, MrsK but I can't stand that song. It's from Travis's "My Eyes" playing in the opening teaser of Wrath as Lana and Clark gallop back to the farm on their horses. That and Lana's ridiculous line "But normally, that kind of romance comes with a tag that says, "Sorry I wrecked your car," or, "I accidentally slept with your sister." (what?) just get the episode off to a bad start IMHO. Although I do love the triumphant grin on Lana's face as she holds the collapsed windmill above Clark.
