And here is one I really don't like...:p I'm pretty sure that is Bow Wow's "Fresh Azimiz," which must be endured during the basketball game at the beginning of Fallout. And I think it is actually "come wit them hits" - not "with"...

Well yes, but I know how you hate bad spelling and grammar!!!! :D ;) And I thought it made it just too obvious that it was a rap song so used a little poetic licence. :)

That's from Dishwalla's Opaline playing at the Talon in Drone when Clark and Pete visit a very empty Talon and Lana says she's got a 2-1 offer on (her last step before topless waitressing!!! :D) but it's not helping. Lyric: "To see the twinkle returning to your eyes"

09-28-2009, 05:24 AM
You got me, MrsK. I have no idea. Is it sung in English? :D
It is the first line of a song that is sung in English (:)) and is heard in a late S1 episode.
It is a hard-to-find track; I couldn't find the lyrics on Google. It is one that I listen to quite a bit, though, so I am sure of the line. The band is no longer together (at least under the name this song is credited under). In fact, the CD that I finally found it on is under different name...
skully
09-28-2009, 04:36 PM
Okay, thanks MrsK. That might help me track it down. Nice to see you looking for a challenging one!! A bit like a background "Who said it?" :D
Got it. Thanks to Youtube I believe that is the opening line to Bottlefly's "Nothing To Do", playing in the scene at the Talon in Crush where Whitney invites Lana to a Saturday Night showing of "Our Town", something that makes Lana uncomfortable due to all the extra attention he is suddenly paying her, and Clark and Lana discuss Clark's relationship with Chloe and crossing the line of friendship to something more.
Lyric: "Gonna revolutionize both you and I"
That's it - it's on an album by the Leedsy Ports, which has includes members of Bottlefly and I-94 (also a good group). Good detective work, skully! :)
Yours isn't ringing any bells for me, either. Unless someone gets it before then, I'll have to track it down later today...

09-29-2009, 03:49 PM
Hehehe, I very unoriginally took a play from the MrsK playbook. This song also doesn't rate a mention on Google but you will find it on Youtube. And while we are sticking with similar plays - this is also from a late S1 epi. :D
Found it! And a truly awful song(?) it is! That is from "Goin' Off" by Laughing Us, nad it is played at the beginning of Crush when Dr. Wells has his hands cut off by the falling elevator
Lyric: "I woke up on the wrong side"
skully
09-29-2009, 11:33 PM
Hehehe. As I was sifting through the late S1 epi songs, I came across that one and immediately thought "MrsK will hate this!!!" :D
Is this another Google-proof song?
It is, also from late S1 - one I came across looking for your last!

09-30-2009, 02:47 PM
Okey dokey. Might take me some time. Big day at work today. :)
A hint... I actually own this CD, but I rarely listen to it because it puts me to sleep! It's a quiet song, in the background at the Talon.

10-06-2009, 11:58 PM
A bit of a stab based on the clues (I can't find it on Youtube). Is it from Micah Green's "You and I" - playing in the Talon scene near the end of Crush where Chloe and Clark talk about Justin being in the psych ward and they decide to go to the journalism convention together to get to know each other better?
Yep, that's it. Well done. :)

10-11-2009, 11:56 PM
Nobody? This is a tough one. It is Google and Youtube proof. :)
Some questions may be in order.
Is it heard in an early (1-3), middle (4-6), or late (7-9) season?
Is it clearly heard, or faint in the background?
skully
10-12-2009, 03:52 PM
It is in a middle season epi. It is clearly heard (quite loudly) in the foreground. The lyrics posted are clearly heard but very few other words can be made out.
Is Lois a guest or a main when it is heard?
Is it heard in an outdoor or indoor setting?
skully
10-12-2009, 07:11 PM
Lois is a main when it is heard.
It is heard in an outdoor setting.
So S5 or 6...
It the outdoor setting somewhere seen only once? Or is it a common location?
It somewhere in Smallville? Metropolis?
skully
10-12-2009, 10:23 PM
Yes, S5 or S6.
It is an outdoor setting only seen once. It is somewhere near Smallville. We do get to see locations nearby several times in the episode.
Is Lois in the scene when the song is heard?
skully
10-14-2009, 09:09 PM
No.
skully
10-15-2009, 10:38 PM
Male.
Is it one of the songs on Lex's car radio at the beginning of Progeny?
skully
10-16-2009, 12:11 AM
No, but you have the right season.
One of the songs heard at Make-Out Point in Wither?
skully
10-16-2009, 10:04 AM
Yes!! Now which one? :)
Total guess - "Club Young" by Telepictures?
skully
10-16-2009, 03:33 PM
That's the one!! It is playing on the radio of a the car of the 2nd couple that's making out (after we see the couple in the pick up truck) . As the camera pans past their car, the song fades in , then out, and you can clearly make out the posted lyrics.
You're up, MrsK. :)
Lyric: "You are the strength that keeps me walking"
skully
10-17-2009, 09:43 PM
Ah, back to the classics.
That is from Lifehouse's "Everything" playing at the end of Pilot when Clark day dreams that Lana visits him in the loft and saved him a dance from Homecoming, then he snaps out of it and thanks Lana for the dance as he watches her from the loft walk up to her front door. It also features briefly in Metamorphosis.
Lyric: "And just when you think you're done paying dues"
That is from "Reach For the Sky" by Social Distortion, which is playing during the state championship game in Jinx.
Lyric: "And I know you'll need more than a friend"
skully
10-18-2009, 09:06 PM
That's from Mark Joseph's "Fly" playing in the loft scene at the end of Lucy where Lois is amazed at how forgiving Clark is and he says maybe that why their friends, and they sort of acknowledge their friendship.
Lyric: "Each year you bring me delight"
"Oh Christmas Tree" by Sidney James - playing during the Christmas party at the Kents' in Lexmas?
skully
10-18-2009, 10:47 PM
Yup.
Lyric: "Did I dream this belief?"
skully
10-18-2009, 11:15 PM
That is from Peter Gabriel's "I Grieve" playing at Jonathan's Funeral at the end of Reckoning.
Lyric: "Tonight, the universe will hold us together"
I believe that was from Ginger's "Our Finest Hour," which is heard at the Valentine's Day party at the Talon in Crimson.
----- Added 1 Minutes later -----
Lyric: "Nothing but the truth could wake us"
skully
10-21-2009, 02:55 AM
I think that might be from "I'll Wait for You" by Jay Condiotti, which can be heard playing at the Talon early in Hydro when Chloe shows Clark Linda Lake's article about Lana not saying yes to Lex's proposal because she still loves Clark. I love Hydro, which was the turning point to a stellar 2nd half of S6. :)
Lyric: "I can't take much more of this policeman state."
I believe that is from "Mind Full of Daggers" by Juliette and the Licks, which is playing at the Talon in Fierce when Kara asks the "Weather Girls" for help with her make-up.
----- Added 1 Minutes later -----
Lyric: "All night long I dream of the day"
skully
10-24-2009, 03:27 AM
I think that's from the Foo Fighters' "All My Life" playing in the scene in Redux where Lex gets Clark to school late in his speeding Porsche just as the new Principal Reynolds is shutting the school gate, and then gives Clark a lecture.
Lyric: "Why the eyes to the ground when I'm looking your way?"
Another one that is Google and youtube-proof? I have absolutely no idea!
Is it heard in an early, middle or late season? At a common location?
Is it in the background or clearly heard?
skully
10-26-2009, 01:54 PM
Google proof but not Youtube proof. I actually got the lyrics from a Youtube clip.
It's from a late season epi (S7, 8 or 9) and it is heard as a very common location, at a place where we hear more songs than any other place. :)
It is typical background music for this location. The lyrics aren't particularly clear.
skully
10-26-2009, 09:25 PM
Yes.
Is Clark in the scene when this is played? Is Chloe?
Is Kara a main in the season when this is heard? Is Lana?
skully
10-30-2009, 03:00 PM
Clark is not in the scene. Chloe is in the scene.
Kara is a main in the season as is Lana.
First guess - "So Down" by Salim Nourallah, playing in the Talon when Chloe is babysitting super-Lana in Wrath?
skully
10-30-2009, 03:09 PM
That's the one, MrsK. Well narrowed down. You're up :)
Lyric: "I told them who you really are"
skully
10-30-2009, 05:02 PM
That is from "Stolen Earrings" by Two Hours Traffic playing at the Talon at the beginning of Cure where Jimmy is trying to liven up an unenthusiastic Chloe, then she sees Sasha Woodman.
Lyric: "Spewing a sermon that goes on and on"
Ah, one of the few from S9! That is from Brand New's "Daisy," which is playing in the opening scene of Roulette when Oliver is gambling (and losing).
----- Added 1 Minutes later -----
Lyric: "I feel my faded mind begin to roam"
skully

That's from The Killers "Goodnight - Travel Well" playing near the end of Requiem from Clark at the scene of Lex's "death" to Clark walking up the stairs of the loft to the final Clana scene.
I don't care what anyone says about the epi, that was an excellent montage set to a great song.
Lyric: "And I can’t make it go away"
That's from The Killers "Goodnight - Travel Well" playing near the end of Requiem from Clark at the scene of Lex's "death" to Clark walking up the stairs of the loft to the final Clana scene.
I don't care what anyone says about the epi, that was an excellent montage set to a great song.
I found Power to be much more annoying than Requiem and, even though I hated the way they chose to end the Clark/Lana roller-coaster, I'll admit that that final scene was exceptionally well acted. And I agree with you about the montage.
Lyric: "And I can’t make it go away"
Ah, I really like this one! And it was well-placed in the episode, too. That is from Simple Plan's "Untitled" (How Could This Happen to Me), which played at the end of Recruit when Clark is standing alone on the football field at Met U after giving up his scholarship.
----- Added 1 Minutes later -----
Lyric: "Somehow I'll cross that bridge again"
skully

Yeah, I'm a real Simple Plan fan. It'd be great if they could get some of their newer stuff on (highly unlikely with budget constraints). :(
I think your lyric is from "Unbroken" by Todd Thibaud, playing when Lana visits (i.e avoids Nell) Clark on the Kent's front porch in X-ray and they talk about Lana's Mom's diary and Clark's biological parents.
Lyric: "A kiss with opened eyes."
I believe that is from "Pain" by Jimmy Eat World," which is played in Transferenceduring the prison riot.
Lyric: "You're not a superstar"

Good Lord, how could I miss this??!! That's actually from one of my top 10 Smallville songs!!! It's from Chantal Kreviazuk's "In This Life" playing in the loft scene at the very end of Calling when Lana apologizes to Clark for being unsure about their relationship. It was the beginning of the first real reciprocated Clana period but lasted only until the end of S2 when Clark ran off to Metropolis after accidentally killing Martha's baby in the storm cellar blast.
Lyric: "And beg God please have mercy on me"

Marie Digby, Spell - played at the end of Wrath (7x07) during one of Clana's barn moments. Lana is telling Clark all she did with his powers and she tells him she needs to know he'll love her no matter what, to which he doesn't answer (fade out). lol!
Now for one that sounds like Jaderoyale's post...
"Light shines on my face, but I need my space" (sorry if it's been used in previous posts!)

Lyric: "Back in town again and looking up your name"

It's been a while - I have to remember what song it is first!!

All right. It is from a middle season episode, played in the background at a common location during a conversation between 2 mains, and the artist shares a first name with a single-episode guest. Initial guess. Maybe from Amanda O'Connor's Daddy's Little Girl playing when Martha is talking to Lana at the Talon in Bound just before she meets Genevieve Teague for the first time?
Or maybe from Lucas Hoge's If Only I Could playing at the Talon in Oracle when Lois bumps into Lana on a coffee run and jokes about Lana being Lex's new assistant before realising Lexana is underway.
Good guess - it is from Lucas Hoge's "If Only I Could." You're up! :)

Lyric: "A new colour to paint the world"

Well, it is from "Deck the Halls," and I believe an instrumental version of that is heard in Gemini when Lois and Grant are in the supply closet. There was also a version in Lexmas - it's playing in the operating room just before Dr. Litvak begins Lex's operation.

I think that's from Ben Lee's No Room to Bleed playing at the Talon at the very beginning of Witness when Clark and Lana talk about the state of her relationship with Henry Small, then Chloe blows in and is furious with Clark because he forgot about his Torch article, then Clark quits the Torch.
Lyric: "Solutions and remedies"
That is from "God is a DJ" by Faithless, which is heard several times in Zero - when we first see Jude Royce shot (as well as in all the flashbacks related to that and the scenes leading up to them) - and again on the CD player hidden under the dashboard of Lex's car, complete with people screaming.

Thanks MrsK. Only been sticking my head in very quickly here and there in the past few weeks.
This one is fairly recent (S9) and I'm not aware of it or the lyrics being available on either Youtube or Google. The song is listed in your most trusted website for SV Music. :)
The song these lyrics are in can be clearly heard in a scene involving a single main.
I figured as much. Well, there haven't been many songs this season... Off to search! :)
I'm guessing it is in Roulette or Persuasion... unless there is also a guest in the scene, in which case I'll add Warrior and Crossfire to the list of episodes to search.
Off to the grocery store first, though!

04-07-2010, 06:10 PM

Lyric: "Mirrors that reflect nothing"
That is from "You better Don't Do" by ing. It's played in Truth when Chloe is walking through the halls of the school and everyone is glaring at her after her article on Mrs. Taylor (aka Marianne Lewis) has been published.

Lyric: "Headed for the promised land"
I think that is from "Southbound Train" by Travis Tritt - not your typical Smallville song! It was playing on Ray Wallace's truck radio before he was run off the road by Dr. Hamilton.
Lyric: "And the time is short, so let's use all of what we got"
skully
04-13-2010, 10:23 PM

Okay. It is heard in an early season at a common location in a scene with 2 mains. What else do you want to know?
skully
04-14-2010, 12:13 AM
So perhaps heard at the Talon, where so much of the S1, 2 and 3 music is heard, particularly the ones you like? :)
Are the mains current, MS, M/F, ever guests, alive, Clark's age?
Do we hear the song before or after the tornadoes, before or after Martha loses the baby?
No, not at the Talon.
Mains are both female, multi-season mains, both Clark's age and alive. One current, one former, also a guest.
After the tornadoes, before Martha lost the baby.
skully
04-14-2010, 12:54 AM
OK, so in a scene with Lana and Chloe in S2.

Lyric: "There is forgiveness that will find us"

04-17-2010, 03:59 AM
I think that is from Sherri Youngward's "Where the Love Goes" playing in the Torch scene in Tempest where Chloe breaks the news to Clark that she and her Dad may be moving back to Metropolis and asked Clark to promise that Spring Formal would be great.
Lyric: "Cold winds begin to blow"
Google-proof? I think I might need some help on this one!

OK. Last third - a scene involving just two mains.
Before or after Chloe's wedding?
skully
04-24-2010, 10:27 PM
After.
Are the mains current? Multi-season? Ever guests? M/F? Alive? Clark's age?
skully
04-24-2010, 11:08 PM
The mains are both current, MS and alive. One is M and was a guest, a bit older than Clark and the other is F, never a guest and Clark's age. :)
So it's from a Chloe-Oliver scene in S9... One of Warrior, Escape, or Conspiracy, then?
Is the line heard in the episode?
skully
04-24-2010, 11:25 PM
Yes, it's in one of those epis and yes, the line is heard in the epi. :)
Well, I just watched all three scenes, and I didn't hear the line, but I'll take a stab at it. Is it from the scene at the end of Escape - Chris Lind's "What Is Not Yours"?
