According to Eliza Dushku, Dollhouse gets better after episode six.

ED: Honestly, yes. I understand it from a business perspective, and from Fox’s view, but at the same time, we’ve now done 13 episodes, and people have said that the show took off once they finally realized that Joss is best off left alone to do his thing. That happens around episode six—six through 13 are just extraordinary. I love one, two, three, four, and five, but Joss’ first script that he did after the pilot is number six, which is called “Man On The Street,” and it is just unbelievable. From that point on, the world unfolds in Joss’ way, with Joss’ speed, and it’s really remarkable.

That's brilliant to hear... or it would be if how the shows ratings start off wasn't so damn important...

What Fox need to do is leave him alone, permanently... and then they would actually get good ratings. What they are doing right now is meddling because they want good ratings, then getting bad ratings and not realizing that it's their meddling that has caused the bad ratings...

Seriously, did they learn nothing for Firefly... can they not see how much money they would have made if they had allowed Firefly to take off? Can they not see that the same is probably true of Dollhouse and that despite the ratings, they should at least give it more of a chance than they did the previous?

Yes that's good to hear. The first few episodes have left me feeling lukewarm and girly.

The response from critics as an all around thumbs up, i haven't found a single bad article yet :)

I'm so so so happy that the 'episode six is so great' raving, didn't fall flat. It really was so great

Like I said on another thread Dollhouse finally began with episode 6. Seriously, I had no idea what the thought process was with the first 5 episodes...but, they finally got it.

We can see the first 5 as prequels

I'm glad to hear that episode really kick-starts the series. I still have a couple more acts of number five to finish, though, before I get to it.

I wish the 6th ep was on cable and they showed repeats of it, cause in trying to watch whats going on with Agent Ballard and Helo at the same time I missed some stuff

Oh heck yeah. The first 5 episodes it was good but very lukewarm and once episode six came about with Mellie as one of the Dolls and Adele's vulnerability, everything went hyperspeed afterwards.

Hopefully they don't go and cancel this show with great potential.
