Why didn't Ben and Locke "phase" out of the airplane like the others?

i think ben and locke didnt "phase" out because they moved the island so they were allowed off it. i think it was the only way anyone can leave the island without any problems. the 6 left by plane and were still i guess spiritually still attached to the island. like part of them were still there.

I think maybe the island has a seperate plan for the people who weren't phased out of the plane. Maybe Jack, Kate, and Hurley have something important to do in that time period?

I've been thinking about this - they said that the pilot and a "girl" took one of the three boats. Who was the girl? And again - why didn't the pilot disappear? What made the plane crash if the pilot was there?

I think Ben never phased out because, he wasn't in the 1st plane crash. Locke turned up standing in the ocean apparently out of nowhere, so maybe he did phase out.
