wouldn't you do more to prepare? Like at least wear some good sturdy hiking boots and strap some antibiotics to your chest?

What would you do to prepare?

Well, in Lost's case, it's not deserted and there are supplies on the island. Also this takes place in 2007 so getting some stuff on the plane is going to be hard.

Hurley was wearing a back pack. I think he was the only one prepared.

Why in the world did Jack wear a suit? Kate was dressed up, too!
Makes no sense!

I would take a back pack with a water bottle, medical supplies, a few snacks, a rain poncho, sun block, and lots and lots of razors to keep my legs nice and smooth.:D

Jack was wearing the suit, possibly the same exact suit he wore in the pilot, to re-in-act how he looked when 815 crashed.

Hurley had a guitar case, too. He didn't have the when he first crashed, if I remember right. Do you guys think it was Charlie's?

It can't be Charlie's because the guitar is still on the island somewhere. He took it on the plane because Charlie brought a guitar on the plane.

Well, not Charlie's exact guitar from the Island, but another guitar he might have owned. He was in a famous band after all, there's was probably a signed one on eBay.

Wouldn't it be great if it turned out that Hurley had all sorts of survival gear stored in the guitar case? LOL. That'd be way cool. But yeah, I think he did it because of the connection to Charlie. And Jack obviously dressed the way he did to mimic his first appearance on the Island. Yeah, I would've made sure to have brought more with me though, and to grab my carry-on bag and cling to it for dear life prior to the actual "crash" or "flash" or whatever, so that hopefully it'd get beamed down with me. I DEFINITELY know I'd bring at least one roll of toilet paper along, lol!
