great episode. i liked it. glad we saw how they returned. wonder if anyone else got on the island or not or even if the plane crashed. it seems like it might not have and only the people who left returned. the flash could of teleported them. since they were like in the island zone.

This show is full of questions! LoL

What an amazing episode! Actually I've just finished watching all 6 episodes of this season seeing as I couldn't watch them before and, believe me, it's incredible how these writers keep reinventing Lost! Ever since they decided to come up with the three 16-episode seasons they've reinvented it completely and they have started answering an awful lot of questions! Obiously other questions keep popping up, but still the episodes aired so far have been great (I feared season 5 would be a let down after the fantastic season finale they gave us last May, instead I turned out to be wrong)!

I'm sure we'll be getting some flashbacks in the next few weeks on what happened to Ben, Kate, Aaron, Hurley and Desmond. in the meantime, next week we should be getting some answers on what happened to Locke. Can't wait to hear them!

Man I totally loved it! I loved Ben getting beaten up! Don't get me wrong , I'm a fan of his character, I want to be the man behind the curtain just like him, but it shows that off the island Ben doesn't have strings strapped as tight as ON the island.

----- Added 44 Seconds later -----

And I am glad there was a flash and they are back on the island. Not another plane crash.

Loved it. All my doubts about this season (thanks to the last 2 episodes) are gone with this one. Fantastic and now the story is really getting started.

I thought this episode was ok, but like a lot of you I agree there were too many questions and not enough answers. Leaving us with a few questions is good, but leaving us with so many you can't even keep track of it all is bad. I really hope they have explanations for everything that happened in this episode.

^ Like what questions? I'm lost on how a good number of people were left confused at the end. They had an entire scene with Eloise explaining a boat load about the island. The only questions I think they brought up were very small. And the last time we really got answers was back in episode 3, Jughead.

Let's see

What happened to Ben?
Why is Jin in a Dharma suit and van?
Why does it matter that they have similar situation as before in order to get back to the island?
What about baby Aaron and Desmond? Were they on the plane?
Why not get a private jet and fly where they need to go instead of going commercial?
Aren't people back home going to be suspicious that the oceanic 6 bought out most of a plane and disappeared?
So the island is constantly moving? Then why did they have to move it with the wheel?
Who convinced all the oceanic characters to get on the plane and how?
What is everyone's motivation at this point? Like why is Ben doing all this when supposedly he can't go back to the island? Why is Faraday's mom involved?

Jin is in a dharma suit and van because they are in a different time on the island where Dharma had control of most of the island

Aaron and Ji Yeon were not on the plane

They couldn't get a private jet because they couldn't get a hold of a pilot and a private jet on such short notice

I don't think any of them really care what the other people think about them

The wheel moved the island in time. The point was Whitmore obviously found the island and poses a threat to the island. Moving the island in time makes sure Whitmore can't get back to the island so easily

Ben convinced Jack and Sun. The only ones we don't know are Kate, Hurley, and Sayid

Jack's motivation: Feels guilty for leaving people behind and also feels guilty for Locke'd death

Sun's motivation: Wants to get to see Jin

Hurley's motivation: Since the beginning of season dead people have been telling Hurley that the others are in danger and he needs to help them

We;re not sure of Ben, Sayid, or Kate.

We don't know if Ben can't go back. Ben said he couldn't go back but anything Ben says is usually a lie.

There always has to be a balance between time on and off the island within an episode. Personally i ALWAYS find scenes on the Island more exciting. And there was a severe lack of it this episode.

I was also seriously disappointed with Locke's letter, which i thought might answer some questions... that was a real anti climax.

I'm loving this season though. I've said it before and i'll say it again, that Lost is the one show that i feel has not decreased in quality.

You have to remember that ABC switched the order of episodes, so last week's episode should've been all about Locke and answered what happened to him. So the letter would not have seemed important if the episodes were in the right order. I felt like the letter was always just to confirm one of the reasons Jack wants to go back, he feels guilty for Locke's death and wants to make it up to him somehow.

I didn't know that... what is it with network's messing with the order of things?

And yeah i think that is a huge part of why he wants to go back, but i think the episode also highlighted that Jack feels more like a hero when he's on that Island. That's where he feels like a good person, doing good things... when he's back home he just seemed to feel like a useless drunk

Yeah, they switched the episodes (first time they ever did that) basically ABC wanted the oceanic 6 to get back to the island quicker due to slipping ratings (and it worked, the episode got back it's 2 million viewers it lost last week) but thankfully the Locke episode is all about him, so really, it's an episode they could air any time during the season. But it does affect things such as the letter and the apperance of Ceaser (the guy who said he was sorry about Jack's friend) is really his second apperance in the show.

This was really a pretty incredible episode in a lot of ways, but we're left with so many excruciating unanswered questions! Why did Kate make such a sudden 180, and go to Jack plus agree to go back to the Island? What happened to Aaron? Is Sun still working with Widmore? Why was Jack so hesitant to read that letter, really? What happened to get Ben injured and all bloodied up? How did Hurley get out of jail? How was Sayid arrested, and why on earth would they send him to Guam? Why did Eloise Hawking act so weird and unresponsive when Desmond talked about Daniel Faraday (apparently her son)? And why did nobody get whacked in the back by that giant swinging pendulum? 'Cause that would've been REALLY funny.
