It was nice to see Sarah enter Chuck's world (with the intersect) and have Chuck protect her. What an interesting change of rolls that I was not expecting or had never considered.

I loved Shelby! And Sarah fed him! It was comforting to know that someone was looking out for our super-dog.

One question - Why didn't all the Fulcrum people just close their eyes????

Its not that they couldn't, but Sarah and Chuck closed their eyes before it started, Fulcrum didnt realize anything till the sequence started, once it did, I guess they couldnt because they were already mesmorized by it. I don't think they could close the once they have been exposed until its over, or Chuck would have closed his eyes at the intersect update and now this Fulcrum update!

ya both plot lines are great lol. which is rare for tv. usually the A plotline is much better then the B but the A and B plotlines both have there moments.

i liked the episode . . . the Chuck and Sarah storyline was good. We saw that Sarah liked doing some of the normal domestic stuff . . . I mean, the house had been bugged, so part of it was cover, be she really did enjoy taking care of Chuck in a different way

The did a nice job of setting up some spoiler events that are to come as well . . . in the conversation between Chuck and Ellie at the end . . .

Chuck finally accepting that nothing more is going to come of him and Sarah's relationship, and the general stressing that Chuck's life has never been in more danger . . . these two things could really pull them apart for a while

It was nice to see Chuck protecting Sarah for a change though, even after having just gone through the dark intersect download himself . . . I think it might have been a way to show Sarah that Chuck really is willing to risk his life not just for the missions, but for her.

eh, it's prime-time television . . . the dark intersect was never meant to be evil . . . just to contain fulcrum secrets instead of CIA ones

jkashuba07

Yea, I'm not exactly sure where "Dark Intersect" came from. In the episode all it mntion was Fulcrum programming, doesn't necessarily mean that hes going to be this dark dark person with evil thoughts in his head!

It should have been! :)

It would have been so cool to see a Dark Chuck, snapping at Casey for calling him names. Well the images were slightly darker than the NSA/CIA intersect, also the red light in the images.

I think I vaguely remember a spoiler that said chuck would have to face a dark intersect. And that kinda went into speculation that he would become darker once being exposed.

Oh HumanoidCorvin has been fantasizing about the Dark Interset for months now haven't you HC?

cousteau
02-18-2009, 05:28 PM
See, I don't even get why fulcrum would want an intersect of their own; they're one agency, and the point is of the intersect that they're sharing data between the CIA and NSA - with them being one organisation, wouldn't that make distribution of intelligence easier?

closetclana
02-19-2009, 07:30 AM
^ You have a point. The way the intersect was first explained to us was that it was the intersection of two agencies worth of data. I don't think they ever really explained how or why the data was planted in subliminal images - since it was never intended for a human to absorb them.

But this episode said that Fulcrum's computer wasn't really an intersect but some sort of subliminal data device that implanted training and information into agents that they would need for a particular mission. It appeared that once implanted agents would just 'know' things and not go through the "Flash" that Chuck does with intersect data. That is why when Chuck was acting all zombie like after the procedure all the fulcrum agents had assumed it worked.

Gosh - it's just a fun TV show - it doesn't really make any sense at all, does it?

HumanoidCorvin

Oh well, who knows, Chuck might absorb the real Dark Intersect that Fulcrum is working on.

yeah, but even that doesn't make sense, because Chuck now has a full roster of fulcrum agents in his head that he flashed on after getting implanted with the fulcrum intersect data - meaning he won't be killed by the CIA or NSA now, as he's far too valuable to them alive, as he can identify every fulcrum op and location - very stupid move on the part of fulcrum really.

Wern't they expecting that it would brainwash chuck into become a fulcrum agent?

well...No. It's reasonable to assume that the data doesn't really screw with your psychology, because chuck is still chuck - regardless of holding the intersect in his brain, and I'm fairly sure they didn't know he was an agent until much later on.

i keep thinking they should have chuck somehow reveal his secret to his friend. maybe he doesn't tell him but his friend (why do i always forget his name) finds out on his own. i keep wanting to see an episode where both chuck and his friend have to deal with some fulcrom agents. but of course that would put his friend in danger. but what does that matter anymore. fulcrom is going to want chuck no matter what, and since they know it's chuck they might as well go after his sister now. so why wouldn't they also go for his friend too.

closetclana
02-20-2009, 07:56 AM
Fulcrum doesn't know that Chuck is the intersect. They know that he is a "person of interest" but so far every Fulcrum agent that has found out about Chuck's secret has been killed.

It's kind of like Smallville in that way. You know when some guest star learns about Clark's secret that they are going to be killed. (Like those red shirted guys in the old Startrek shows.)

The creators have hinted that someone new will learn Chuck's secret by the end of the season. I'm betting on Ellie because I think they could use a doctor in future plots. (again, it's like smallville in that every season someone new learns Chuck's secret. Then that person is forced to start lying to cover it up as well.)

I'm curious to see what will happen now that Chuck has Fulcrum's version of the Intersect downloaded into his cranium along with the original version. I don't think we've seen the last of the effects this will have on him, do you? I was actually rather expecting him to do something unexpected at the end of the episode that shows that his "reprogramming" isn't as innocent as a simple download of information. What do you all think?

We know that we will see nothing of the Fulcrum intersect in this next epi Chuck vs the Best Friend because it is being shown out of order (it was supposed to be aired before Chuck vs 3D). But perhaps in the one after that.

It will be interesting to see what the effects of the Fulcrum info will be.

krypto nice avatar!!!

closet its not that they were shown out of order so to speak. Josh decided to rearange them because he thought the order of events would be this way.

the real reason I think is because hes afraid of the possibility of getting canceled. He wants to end this season with Chuck and Sarah in each others pants (so to speak) so that if it is canceled it ended on a good note, one that makes the fans happy they were finally get together!

I have to admit, this was another episode I wasn't too fond of.

It started out cute (Valentine's Day) and the side story of Big Mike getting a divorce.

Chuck and Sarah having to pretend to be married though, using the Carmichael name.

And can I ask? How does Big Mike not know who Lando Calrissian is? I thought everyone knew that?

Chuck getting hit on by a married woman was cute.

And Chuck having to use that to 'undercover'. Him ending up hand cuffed to the bed was also pretty funny. And then watching him climb over the roof (in his underwear, again!) was good.

Finding out the whole neighborhood was Fulcrum and them using it as a cover to create the Fulcrum intersect and test it out was a nice twist.

Using the Intersect as a weapon was really clever too.

And Big Mike dating Morgan's Mom. Now that was a total surprise.

So yeah, some cute moments but overall a bit disappointing.

Hmmm. Mostly it was the overall 'feel' to it that I disliked. It felt...rushed. We spent so much time on the 'cute' moments (like the handcuffs scene, etc.) that I felt we didn't really delve into the important stuff.

Plus, this episode felt like too much of a parody (of Desperate Housewives), for me.

So while it did have some cute moments and all I guess I just disliked the basic storyline.

I'm not explaining myself well, sorry!
