Did I miss something? Was there not enough time for them to evacuate everyone? I mean, they could even have used their super powers, speed save everyone before the bomb goes off (all while keeping their anonymity, of course)!
Seriously, it was like, "we have to difuse this bomb. No other solution." Uh, no, you get everyone out, you let the bomb go off, and have Lexcorp rebuild the Daily Planet building!
Simple as that!

Lana did pull the fire alarm before Clark showed up at the building so everyone was out (you can hear it in the background before he uses his super hearing to find the bomb) and the bomb was apparently big enough to take out half the city and not just the DP.

And even if the building wasn't evacuated,Lex would have set off the bomb the minute Clark and Lana thought about it.

I found something interesting though. When Clark and Lana talked in the DP before going on the roof, I notice the room is kinda empty.

How long did it take them to clean-up NYC, after 9/11?
