The ending was pretty creepy

I was surprised he even did that after everything Lex did to him and Lana. Especially after he was ready to kill the guy just a few minutes (or hours in the show) earlier.

Lex just used that truck as a decoy knowing Clark and Oliver are searching for him; he just pretend to die in that truck.

I was surprised that he took that handful of dirt and dropped it where Lex died, like you said devilicus rebel since Clark was just willing to kill him minutes earlier. I think it was because Lex was actually "murdered" and Clark felt it was the right thing to do.

Definitely a creepy ending though. The song really added to it.
